I can tell you the best pizzeria in town is Russillo right on bloomfield ave. Most creative pizzeria i've ever seen! the buffalo chicken , ceasar salad & margarita pizza is unbelievable!

... and again, as far as "upscale", let's pretend I said upper middle class, to avoid arguing technicalities. I think there's been some very good points made, and I understand what everyone is saying.

We have this argument all the time in the car lol
wait until you meet Silver's friend who also lives in Caldwell..those 2 go at it like no other

every suburban town is like that though...its how the cops make themselves feel like they worth something.
Thats fuking BS Rod. Its not like I'm a retard and will listen to everything you say. Not only have I lived in Livingston, Madison (4 years of college) and East Hanover, I also have friends that live in other suburban towns in Jersey. None of them complain about their cops like Caldwell cops. Every one of them has had a problem with Caldwell police. Dont lie to yourself or to me that ALL suburban cops are like that.
The first time I heard it was either the wealthiest or maybe top 4, i dont remember exactly, was from someone I met when I was in Hollywood the second was from my dad who found out from a business man.
Well both times were BS wrong. I just gave you a fuking link Rod! WTF are you doing citing "I heard this from a businessman" sources? Find something on the Internet that has Caldwell currently being wealthy.
Maybe I was off calling it the wealthiest in the country.
YOU THINK?
Regardless Caldwell is an extremely wealthy town. not many affordable rentals other than on the Ave which is still extremely expensive.
Thats also BS. Wealthy by whose standards? We were looking for new houses no less than 3 yeras ago when the real estate market was at a high and everything in Caldwell was around the 350 mark. We had to get into East Hanover or Roseland to find something extremely expensive? Caldwell is very average. It has its rich parts but its average or barely above average. Its got a ton of apartments for christ sake! Tell me what extremely wealthy town (not city: Hoboken is a city) has apartments, and some very CRAPPY LOOKING apartments.
It's on par with Verona and Parsippany which is much bigger so they have more apartments that are affordable not on par with livingston/hanover though.
Veron and Parsipanny are not wealthy. They are actually pretty average towns. Especially Parsipanny. So basically you went from saying Caldwell is one of the richest in the country to comparing Caldwell to Verona and Parsipanny? Looks like I did my job in convincing you. Do some research man! Get out of here with your "I heard from my father uncle" etc. Caldwell likes to think it can run with money towns but it cannot.

Solace: My apologies. I honestly didnt mean to hi-jack your thread. You will love to be in Caldwell as long as you choose to be there. Its a very nice chill town and everyone is very friendly. Also, best of luck on your new job. Imma buy you a couple of shots when you move in. Are you gonna be living in 519 Bloomfield Ave? email me anytime bro. Can I still bitch about Caldwell though?

I never doubted that lol these are suburban towns all look the same to me especially after spending 10yrs of my life in Elizabeth lol

I'm not kidding when I say the value of our 1940 house went from 200K to 360K. A broker actually came to my house an gave me an estimate. Now Imagine how much all the huge homes along passaic ave, and to the right of westville cost? Caldwell has smaller homes than West Caldwell but they still go for over $450k. Does that make it an upscale town idk but not nearly as bad as you're making it out to be. Solace said he liked it when he drove around for a reason.

As far as the cops go I'm gonna have to use a classic line from an old gem of a movie, Men at Work "I HATE COPS!" not really but damn I love that line

Hahaha. Sure, bitch away. LOL. As for the address, I'm not sure the exact address, but I will let you know when I find out. Anyway, I just made an offer for $1300, so we'll see if it gets accepted.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Thats actually true foy most houses and pretty much the nature of real estate. Unless something really terrible happens in an area, the land values generally go up. 360k is normal for a house your size. Might be a bit above average. Caldwell is a nice town but you put that same house in an actual upscale town and you'll get 60k more. You're town is fugazy.
Now Imagine how much all the huge homes along passaic ave, and to the right of westville cost?
This is true. Those houses are big and expensive. Also the couple of houses on Roseland ave and by West Essex. Notice where the nice houses are though. They are all on the streets that lead out of Caldwell. And btw: I already said that Passaic Ave has nice houses and there are some pockets of nice houses in that area.
Solace said he liked it when he drove around for a reason.
Salute man! Who am I to say what someone should do and shouldnt. I was just giving an opinion.

Yo, how can you not be more critical of cops in that town? I mean, I dont know anyone who has gotten ****ed over because of the fuking tools that run the police department. They have no idea what to do!! I dont HATE COPS, I HATE CALDWELL COPS! They are the main reason I hate that town too.

Now that I think about it, thats exactly what Caldwell is! An overrated one dimensional town.

as one dimensional as Houston LOL

I'm telling you the cops in roseland, fairfield, little falls and wayne are just as bad. Welcome to north jersey surburbia lol The cops in the suburbs in central & south jersey aren't nearly as bad and the people are more friendly there. I know because I've been all over jersey when I worked with my dad. North Jersey has some really stuck up A-holes.

The only people I hear complaining about the cops in Caldwell are the ones who are speeding and deserve to be pulled over. Some drive with their headlights off(Rod) and get pulled over which is good becuase most of the time when you are driving with your headlights off you should be pulled over on suspicion of something wrong with you. I have NEVER heard anyone complain about the cops. I honestly mean that besides, you of course, Nik.

you're right they should pull you over on suspicion, warn you and let you go without a ticket right? well thats how it was when we lived in Elizabeth. They would pull up next to you and warn you then they would proceed to fight crimes lol put the cops in these towns here need to hand out tickets & fines somehow

The point being, thanks to Silver, I'm now going to move to Pennsylvania and commute from there, to avoid the cops. j/k, man.

Still waiting to hear back on the apartment. The brokers are being slow...

I dont get speeding ticket. My tickets are bull**** tickets:
DIM TAILLIGHT!!
IMPROPER USE OF HIGHBEAMS!!
I've lived in Madison/Florham Park for 4 years and never have had any trouble with cops. I havent had a single ticket in that area. Actually, other than Caldwell, I have never gotten a ticket. Is that just a coincidence? Where were the cops when the Bank got robbed? Twice! They were picking up the cell phone and calling the real cops. Rob, maybe you and your friends have family or PBA cards or something but lemme tell you, it is accepted that Caldwell cops are utterly incompetant.

Plus, they sell shirts that say "I drove through Caldwell without getting pulled over!" That cannot be just the people that speed can it? I'm glad you like your town but its not upscale and the cops there suck.

I'm waiting to hear back on the apartment. If all goes well, I got it. I should know today.

Now that that's in mind, I'm gonna need to get to know the area. What gyms are in the area? I'm thinking of signing up with a gym once I move in, try to get in better shape, maybe one that has a free trial and a plan like a three month at a time plan. Something of that nature.

The best ones are on Rt. 46 but if you dont mind spending money, there is a NYSC on Bloomfield Ave past Passaic on the right by the Sears.
