4 yrs at 60 mil for a 32 yr old ???? If IT signed him all of you would be saying how stupid IT is for giving a 32yr old a 4 yr contract worth 60 mil !!! You guys are unbelievable !!!! BW will be washed up in 2 yrs !!! Oh and by the way, the Bulls still have NO LOW POST SCORING OPTION !!!
Isiah Thomas will lead us back to the playoffs in 2006 !!!

ben was DPOY.

paxson is a TOP FLIGHT gm.
isiah can't hold his jock strap.

no low post scoring option? i LAUGH at that. why?
b/c the next trade is tyson to new orleans for pj brown + jr smith. is that a low post scoring option? no, it isn't.

but guess what, they STILL have a ton of cap room, not only this summer but NEXT summer as well.

you see, you don't have to blow your whole WAD before the season starts. they may be able to make a deal midway through (ala detroit with sheed) to get them that option.

paxson absolutely raped us on both deals and thanks to us, the bulls are looking at a good 5 year run as an elite team. maybe even more. and all their guys are high character and very coachable. great pedigree as most are from great programs.

the sad thing? if all isiah did was draft and let layden's guys provide good examples for them while they came off the books, we'd have 7-8 young players and a MASSIVE amount of cap room next year.

i laugh at this b/c almost everyone to a man would want ben here...for only a FOUR year deal?!?!? that's it. but no, it's that's fine. we have JEROME for 4 years.

dumars loses darko + ben in less than 6 months and all they have to show for it is a top 5 protected #1 from orlando next year. larry's revenge...

what should dumars do? i would actually go after jackie blue for 3 years $10 mil.

Larry may want the players he coaches to play "the right way," but unfortunately he doesn't treat the GMs he works with "the right way."

Has Isiah ever treated ANYBODY that he's worked with as a basketball executive, "the right way"?

Even granting your point arguendo, it doesn't excuse the Hoops Grifter's conduct.

But to answer your question, I would say Aguirre, probably...

I like what Paxson is doing with the Bulls, but isn't 4 years at 60MM a lot to pay for a 32 year old center?

They should go after Jackie. They should even look into Jerome james. They just need a big body next to Rasheed. Maybe they'll look to snatch up Drew Gooden. That Darko move isn't looking so slick now.

Pistons Move On, Put Offer To Przybilla
4th July, 2006 - 12:21 am
The Oregonian - It looks like the Detroit Pistons didn't waste any time trying to secure a replacement for Ben Wallace.

According to Jason Quick from The Oregonian, at 9 p.m. Portland time, Przybilla will have a tele-conference with his agent, Bill Duffy, regarding an offer from the Detroit Pistons .

This comes after former Detroit center Wallace agreed in principle to a free agent contract with the Chicago Bulls . The Pistons immediately made contact with Duffy regarding Przybilla, and apparently Przybilla will strongly consider the offer from the Pistons.

Reached at about 8 p.m. Portland time, Duffy said he expects Przybilla to make his decision by Tuesday morning after spending a night mulling over Detroit's offer.

Quick belives that the Pistons are favorites to land Przybilla's services. [READ]

Would anyone do the following trade?

Eddy Curry, Jalen Rose and Renaldo Balkman

for

Ben Wallace, Tyrus Thomas, Mike Sweetney, the Knicks #1 pick in 2007 (seriously, what are the odds that the Bulls won't swap picks?) and the Knicks 2nd rd picks in 2007 and 2009.

Well wait, to be "fair", don't you mean Ben Wallace, Ty Thomas, Mike Sweetney, the #1 and the 2nd round picks for Shaq, Dennis Rodman and Jalen Rose? Hahaha.

Ok, well if we're being honest with ourselves, the Bulls might normally get something like the #22 in the draft, thanks to their new acquisitions, and say we get something around #10 (I'm being generous). So, swap those. The picture would look something like this:

Ben Wallace, Tyrus Thomas, Mike Sweetney, 2007 10th overall pick, 2007 40th overall pick for Eddy Curry, Renaldo Balkman, Jalen Rose and the 22nd overall pick (which would, with any luck, allow us to draft the next Kareem, now that we have the next Rodman). It's really not that bad. The Bulls only got four out of the five top players in the trade. How is that unfair?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

The Bulls don't have the cap space to attempt to sign Ben Wallace if they don't get the Knicks to take Curry off their hands.
They could have let Curry walk and had the exact same cap space. We had nothing to do with their current cap space or acquisition of Ben wallace.

Sometimes the truth is funny I guess. Not one player we took off their payroll had a contract that would have gone into this season; not one would have influenced their cap room this offseason; and not one would have impacted their chances of getting Ben Wallace. Facts can be annoying when they disprove your position, can't they?

Um, you don't let Eddy Curry walk for free! Let's see... let him walk, or trade him for a gala of draft picks and expiring contracts. Hmm... tough call.

Honestly, do you seriously believe if we or another team didn't step up to trade for Curry that the Bulls would've just let him walk? Any GM who let Curry walk for free would've been fired on the spot. Sometimes I think you get so caught up on *technicalities* that you miss the point.

well sure they could have let curry walk and they could have let crawford walk, but how likely would either scenario have been? letting high, very high, draft picks walk who were already averaging in double figures? maybe it's more likely to say that other teams would have stuck them back with longer term contracts in their sign-and-trades.
