In all fairness, this decision seems to stem from Dolan. If he pushed Brown out and ordered Isiah to coach, he has no choice. I can't imagine Isiah is really happy about all this.

Yeah I can't imagine Isiah is thrilled about having to coach a team he put together of all guys who he likes and gets along with. Isiah had planned to coach the Knicks at some point and don't kid yourself otherwise. Brown's firing made that opportunity available.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I have a feeling a lot of Knicks fans (not necessarily anyone on here) are gonna root for us to suck next year just so Isiah gets the boot

Berman speculating MJ will give him a call

I swear to god, I hope Brown goes to a team next year and wins the championship. I hope he comes in here and whips the Knicks right in the Garden. This is pathetic.

This organization needs a wakeup call and by Brown succeeding elsewhere it'll be a good one.

We need a GM. Doing both never works.

Maybe Isiah did have coaching on the brain. But this whole ordeal didn't pan out the way Thomas could've planned. One friggin season, no way, I'm not buying it.

Not any real knick fans. I think it's the EXACT opposite...I think we're all about the knicks doing well all the time.

Snap out of it.

Larry can coach, but only when the conditions are right and the players are to his liking. Guys like Riley and Parcells can coach almost anyone. That's why they are great coaches, and Larry is only a very good one.

Ah, maybe because Boss told him that he has to because he just fired a guy making $40 million. Dolan's decision pure a simple. As usually the case, most coaches get fired by GMs, Brown gets directly fired by owners. Pretty amazing stuff.

Larry got what he deserved! He signed with a team that did not fulfil its promises.

He got paid from Detroit and the KNicks.

He got what he deserved: FIFTY SEVEN MILLION DOLLARS!

Those fans happy with his departure, what did you get? A coach that does not want to coach. A guy on the hot seat that will compromise the future to pad a win total this year to keep any shreed of cred left.

Yep. Larry is gone. $57 mil for one year. Not a bad payday!

The juice card was worth a lot!

The only positive I can see out of this would be if IT just goes for a full blow youth movement...which would be ideal since his strengths seem to be drafting good players. We'd just need to dump about half of the team to do that though and I don't know how that would be possible. Pending any trades for a PF though I can't see IT not starting Frye this season, and getting minutes for Lee and Nate.

What a lame statement! No teeth at all.

He choose Marbury over Larry Brown. What a moron!

Anyone who thinks LB was fired over Marbury is a moron.

Larry getting the Bobcat gig is bad news for Knicks brass.

Worst run franchise in professional sports. The thing that worries me is that now Isiah will continue to combat his mistakes and mortgage our future by trying to save his job. Dolan seems to believe in Isiah for whatever reason, but if he sours on Isiah, then we are even further back in the rebuilding process.

That would be mighty nice for Brown. A team full of young hardworking players with headcases and no malcontents, Larry will really succeed there for awhile if he gets that coaching job.

Not given our roster. Larry didn't fit here.

The cap space we gave Orlando and Toronto is a much bigger threat.
