Bip, if you belive what you are actually saying, then surely Larry Brown is not the right guy for this job...he will continue to bring in retreads in here to perpetuate the status quo...See Steve Francis and Jalen Rose....You keep saying my hate...This thing needs to be broken down entirely to achieve what you say you want....Larry can's be expected to change that by himself...If anything, Isiah might have done more towards that than anyone by brining in young players who can be molded....Marbs of course is not a good example of that...But who is perfect in this organization....So it you think Larry will do it by his tactics, you are fooling yourself...The Knicks don't currently have the infrastructure to hold up after Larry gets all he wants...Detroit had the infrastructure with Dumars, Davidson and the players...Larry was one of many....If Larry gets his way, he will only prolong what really needs to be done here until he leaves...If this past season didn't show you that, I don't know what will....

Once again that is your opinion, just thrust on someone else. My opinion remains the same as it was when Chaney was here. Until we change the atmosphere here there will never be "a right man for the job". One day you will realize this.

Were we better without Larry?

The only reason why anyone on this board thinks we were is because of exactly what I'm talking about, the "35 win disguise". We have been a laughingstock for 7 years but in the past because we almost made the playoffs we could at least talk trash to our friends a little as the season went on. this year we sucked all year so there was no disguise. It was all out in the open. Management can't go out and sign Dice Junior and sell us a line of garbage that things were turning around. That is the disguise that 90% on this board have fallen for but won't admit it. The disguise is Dice, Marbury, TT, Francis, LB. Those guys are the disguise. The optimism after every trade shows that 90% fall for it they just won't admit it.

okay, I THINK I understand what your saying. your saying that larry brown making the team lose is a good think becuase it will get Isiah, who has a short term fix-long term disaster type of management, fired. hmmm, I guess that makes sense, but I still think that Isiah could have kept improving the team, to eventual contender status (provided of course that he hired a good coach) but I understand if you think Im being naive by saying that.

No that's just your assumption of what you think I will feel and has nothing to do with me.

I will be happy to see a future. Record is unimportant.

Politics Bippity! You're a natural!

Actually it wasn't an assumption but a question--and you answered it. When LB wins 35 you will be happy.

Somehow or another his 35 wins will be different from someone elses 35...just like his 23 are different from someone elses. Somehow you have seperated the record from the future outlook. The laws of sports stand on their head in the Bippity-verse!

My point is that you guys are giddy with excitement and nothing has or is going to change...Brown here only exacerbates the situation with him trying to prove he is a HOF coach once he gets his type of players...What happens when he moves on in a season or two, we start again minus Frye maybe or Lee or Nate ...What's the point?

ooh aah and no point have I said I would be happy with any amount of wins. So not sure where you come up with this stuff but once again it is you thrusting your thoughts and opinions upon me.

Back in 2000 we won 45 some odd games and almost beat Toronto in the playoffs. That was the year Latrell blamed the rest of the team for losing the series. That was also the year I started screaming and yelling that we were going backwards and that ultimately we would implode. If you had been posting with me all this time you would realize this is not new from my perspective. The only thing that is new is taht there is just a different poster accusing me of being happy if we win 35 games under Brown. Back then they said Chaney, and after that they said Wilkens. Now you are saying Brown.

Again, wins is insignificant. It's just another thing for fans to sing and brag about. Progress is important. If we win 50 games with LB and have the same atmosphere we are going to just implode again eventually. But if the culture of this organization changes regardless of record than it is a good thing. Once again, you will ignore that I am saying...........I dont' give a flying rat's asse about Larry Brown. I can't make it anymore clear. If he is fired tomorrow I will not celebrate and I will not cry. But I will watch the organizations reaction. IF we decide to bring in another proven successful guy who wants changes you will see me satisfied. IF you see another guy brought in to appease the players you will hear me biotch like you heard me biotch with Chaney and Lenny and Herb. The names mean nothing to me. I don't care about any of them. I care about the Knicks. I care about changes. How those changes come about are irrelevant. But they must occur and they are.

PS: not one time did I say that winning 23 games was a strategy of LB's. Where do you guys come up with this stuff. Do you reach a conclusion even before your finish reading the post. You know that would kill you on the SAT's.

Holfresh honestly, is anyone giddy with any excitement. Is there really anyone here remotely happy? Aren't you making this up?

The only thing that gives me even a slight sign of hope is that we stunk so bad that we may change things. I don't even know if any changes will work. All I know is that we will make changes. Anything that deviates from the past 7 years is a good thing. Even if it fails miserably

Whoo-boy! Don't even know where you are going with most of this. But I do know this:

A few weeks ago you stated in no uncertain terms that you "worshipped LB"! And yes, you used the word worship! So spare me!

You can insult my intelligence as much as you want. You can defend everything LB does and canonize him while simultaneously saying you don't care about him.

But you still won't answer the question: Will you be happy when LB wins 35? Or is there some other magical measure that only you can see?

Now maybe you can answer the question instead of dodging it out like Ricochet Rabbit! You know, your inability/unwillingness to answer a question straight will hurt your test scores when you are getting you Masters in: "Everythin' wut LB duz is right, and ever'body what dudn't see it dudn't read muh posts fullee"

anyway Im pretty sure that we could have won more than 35 games this year if we had a good coach. but moving on, One thing that I am certain of is that if we do bring in larry brown type players and he coaches the way he did this season, we wont win more than 25 or so games regardless. also Im not even sure who we could bring in that would tolerate larry's BS, and still play effective basketball. even the pistons are better off without larry, (possibly becuase someone in the starting lineup found out that larry wanted to trade him). what team is closer to being a LB type team than them? so at this point Im not sure who in the nba we could bring in that would be better with larry.

[Edited by - slimpack on 05-11-2006 1:49 PM]

maybe Im short changing brown. come to think of it crawford did seem to be becoming a better player under larry towards the end there. and q rich showed flashes of being a very good defensive player, maybe a different cast of characters can prosper under larry.

At least one underachieving player on each team probably has one great like Jamal did. That's more the law of averages than anything else.
