if all we can get for Francis is a malcontent injuried maxed out K Mart, then we got screwed in a big way on the francis deal.

I'd take K Mart- but Denver has to take our sh!t (Francis, Marbs, Rose, etc) and send us some picks back- and I am not talking second rounders.

you sure about that? i don't remember reading anything about the lakers being interested, but i could be wrong... i think the Lakers would be more interested in a PG who can play off the ball & do the little things, like playing solid perimeter D & a good perimeter shooter... Francis doesn't fit that mold at all... w/Kobe dominating the ball on that team, they would do well w/a guy like Bobby Sura or Speedy Claxton... not sure why they got rid of Chucky Atkins, as he seems to fit that mold perfectly.

Totally damaged? Sounds like an exaggeration. How did he manage to put up better #s on a better team than Francis this year?

LJ was a great offensive player, K-Mart has never been that. EVER!! He is nothing like LJ, or Dice.

Just sayin' though - LJ used to score with crazy athleticism and then he had to get crafty when he lost his explosiveness. Without a doubt LJ, at 100%, was a way better scorer than K-Mart at 100%. I guess K-Mart can hope to be a poor-man's watered down LJ. Sounds great. Get him, Zeke!!

francis doesnt fit in on denver...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Press Release - The Denver Nuggets have suspended forward Kenyon Martin indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team.

"This is an internal matter that we will deal with in-house," said Head Coach George Karl.

The Nuggets host the Los Angeles Clippers for Game 3 of their first-round playoff series on Thursday, April 27 at 8:30 pm MDT.

No LJ with the hurt back is still WAY more polished offensively than K-mart. LJ had to be double teamed in the post, AND he could hit the 3. K mart can dunk, has no mid range shot really, what can he do for a half court team? Play decent man-on defense? At 12 million, I'd need a little more than that.

imo, the best time to get KMart is right now while his trade value is at an alltime low... & i don't get the same vibes about this deal that i did on the McDyess trade... first of all, we gave up a #7 overall along w/our starting C to get McDyess... we're talking about a malcontented player w/o a role on this team in Francis making max dollars for the next 4 seasons in exchange for KMart who's contract is insured... i don't see how that's overpaying myself.

if we can trade Francis for Cassell, & then move Mo T's expiring deal to DEN for KMart, i think it can work... KMart's passion & energy is sorely needed on this gutless Knicks' team... of course, we have to get rid of Marbury too, cuz i think KMart would probably want to kick his butt after a few games, just like Q Rich did.

Francis-Melo got a bad Balitmore peronal hate thing going.

They need s shooting guard real bad.

If there was talk about just paying off Marbury to leave, then perhaps we can take Kenyon off their hands. At least we get somthing of value IF Marbury has little value.

We could also swing a Marbury-Butler for Kenyon-NENE. Butler is cheep and denver needs some breathing room to reup Melo. THis might work for them and it gives up some added value back.

If Kenyon is toast, he would still be cheaper to write down then Marbury.

I don't know Marburys real value, but if Isiah deems him as a must trade player, we ain't getting much back.

Denver Post - According to the Denver Post, should the Nuggets look to trade power forward Kenyon Martin, they may have some difficulty. Martin has bad knees, a long contract, and was recently suspended for conduct detrimental to the team.

That said, three high-level NBA executives said Wednesday that trading Martin was definitely possible. They agreed his knee is a big issue, as well as the money left on his contract. They were less concerned about the recent incident that led to his suspension.

"People are going to be nervous about his knee, contract and attitude," one Western Conference executive said. "People are very nervous about contracts that size. It's not impossible, but very difficult."

Carmelo Anthony wouldn't speculate on whether Martin would return next season.

"I don't know how that's going to hold up, that's all I can say," Anthony said. "I wish him the best. I hope they work it out."

"Why not for Zach Randolph?" one Eastern Conference executive said. "They owe him the same amount of money."

"Isiah Thomas might try to throw in Malik Rose or Maurice Taylor," the Eastern Conference executive said. [READ]
