Dec 28th was the Orlando game where Marbury didn't make a field goal, had 3 assists, and 2 rebounds in 40 minutes. That was the 27th game of the season. After that game he got roasted by the media and finally decided to stop pouting.

Well in gme 10...Marbs 27 pts 8 asst....Game 12 Marbs 33 pts 6 asst....game 28 Marbs 28 pts 6 rebs...game 29 Marbs 32 pts 10 asst....

What is exactly your point?

That by game 27 he was still pulling sh^t.

I agree with Knight. Marbs and LB hadn't reached an understanding until after the Orlando debacle. Hopefully that understanding is still intact.

But I do think Marbury will come out blazing in the next 30 games. I really think he is ready to "turn the page" which is also a good song by Bob Seger.

I think Marbury has a better attitude now.

Turn the Page? Just a song by Bob Seger.

>>we can rehash all the reasons why it didn't work again and again, but I don't think it was a terrible risk. top three protection would've been nice, but I swear I read somewhere that he couldn't put protection on the picks because it would interfere with the protection on the pick still owed to the Suns, which has descending protection starting this year.

cryzmd - now THAT is the type of investigative reporting that keeps the misinformation and misguided opinion to a minimum.

Curry cost us likely a top 3 pick this year and God only knows how high a pick next year. If you're giving that up for a player, yoiu better be damn sure he's gonna lead you WAY out of the lottery.

nexts years swap is so hard to judge, because the swap not only depends on how we do, but how bad the bulls do, if the bulls are even 1 game worse than we are, then the swap is irelevant...

I'm not into looking back and dwelling on IT not giving up Lee or Ariza to keep the #1 pick but since we're talking about...

Isiah would have been MUCH MUCH MUCH smarter then giving up Adam Morrison. Instead of giving up Trevor Ariza or David Lee in the deal(who have not helped the Knicks win more games) we are giving up Adam Morrison.... that's not good and thats just fact.
[Edited by - nyk4ever on 02-20-2006 5:57 PM]

no it isn't a fact, lets say we win 18 out of the next 30 games, that hurts our chances of getting morrison more than the trade does. So in essence Winning games hurts our chances at getting morrison, who really IMO has more questions on the next level than curry does right now... Ie: slow feet, ability to get own shot, defense, etc...

after seeing the way larry uses frye, even if we did get morrison, you really believe larry would give morrison minutes. stop kidding yourself in thinking good draft picks can make a difference in lb's league leading rotations

hey, earl and others, I 100% agree with you...but I think this is silly:

so far the votes:
didnt F*ck up Curry trade - 3
did F*ck up Curry trade - 121,846

I highlight the post to demonstrate how full of stuff most posters really are...when we got curry it was all hail curry, this put's us in teh playoffs, curry is a bull...now it's "that was zeke's worst deal" so they are going to apply this same gming to this year's pick and next year's pick...rookies that we all know LB can't embrace.

It's interesting as the months and seasons go by figuring out who really are fans, who really know what they are talking about, as it applies to the real life and the NBA, and who are stuck in fantasy basketball on yahoo where you can trade dirk for wade for the goof.

The Curry deal was phenomenal...anybody that thought we'd be in the lotto with Tiny Tim Gone and Sweetney replaced by Curry (17 ppg) and the addition of Frye, Lee and Nate around a core of Crawford (16ppg), marbs (20/8) and QRich (16ppg) was a fortune teller.

If you are saying Zeke's a goof because he didn't "protect it"...I have to say you know nothing about the NBA...you may know alot about basketball and how good kids are in high school based on their mcdonald's game performance, but when it comes to taking over a team that is over the hill and over performing and full of bloated over the cap players and turning it into a team with an average age of 25, a hall of fame coach and an actual future...you just don't know squat.

Let's all snap out of it...the knicks suck this year because everything is new. The coach (coming from a veteran ALL STAR team), the rookies, the new additions...it has nothing to do with Curry, it has nothing to do with Zeke's moves.

I mean, it's come down to people saying they disagree with 2 or 3 moves...2 or 3 moves? In 2 years and 2 months, you disagree with 2 or 3 moves. But you FULLY AGREED with other moves...not many questioned Q and Nate for Kurt?

you want picks but you know for a fact that LB sucks with rookies. You believe he'll be better with a rookies than a player that has been in the league 3 years and played against shaq and other nba centers?

This "we should have kept our picks" and "I'd rather have [insert unproven college player here] than [insert player that averaged over 15 ppg last year]" talk is just crazy...think about the nba...when you were a kid, did you say "our team sucks this year, so let's get rid of everybody from the GM down"

In the real world, people don't get fired after 2 years and this many changes.

But then again, this isn't the real world.

My bad...I keep forgetting we are talking about the knicks not real life...I forgot that somebody that never played a game in the NBA is more valuable than someone that has played 3 years at one of the hardest positions in the league and is 7 feet tall.

yeah, like kwame brown...Jordan is as smart as the rest of you.

sorry for rambling...I haven't posted in awhile.

Part of being smart in life is covering your butt for unlikely contingencies. Consequently, Isiah could have and should have gotten at least top three protection, if not this year, then next year.

Real World

Rich - covering our butt for unlikely contingencies?

Oh, you mean like Quentin's brother geting murdered?... Marbury's game streak coming to an end?.... Larry Brown coaching like it's a church league?

Oh, NOW I get it!

what was I thinking?

vhoss - yours was one of the best scholarly rants EVER

Two years?

Some posters are ready to give up on Channing Frye, David Lee and even lovable Nate after only four months. Think of Nate once he settles down and finds a wild woman to drain his excess energy. Imagine David Lee walking the streets of New York AFTER he learns The Subway.

Think of a confident, fiery Channing Frye at 25 years old.

Nah, Zeke messed up because some college dude just scored 30 points against some unknown guys with pimples.

Sheesh
