What I noticed about the scoring is that Moses was kind of pulling for AI. I guess the 76er connection. He gave AI a 10 on his dunk after the Nate-jump-over-Spud dunk. Come on that was an 8 at best.

HELL yea I noticed that too I agree 100%

as for the whole fix thing, Nate is five feet, nine inches- the mere fact that he can dunk is amazing and worthy of points.

Have they ever had a 7 footer in the competition?

The reason dunks are so awe inspiring is you watch someone dunk and you think, 'wow, they just flew and defied gravity'. Andre Iguodala had a higher standard vs. nate simply because for Iguodala, dunking is not that hard.

There were times when Nate was missing that he wasn't getting enough air to get up- he was tired and probably couldn't have dunked.

On any of Igoudala's misses, was it ever apparant that he couldn't dunk it? That he wouldn't reach?

I find it ridculous that you even need to mention this. Physical disadvantage should always be awarded. While I like AI to AI it was only the 2nd round. He should have kept that for later. That's part of it too, you got to time yourself.

Nate might be pound for pound the most explosive athlete on this planet

hes 5-6 no more. if i really knew he was 5-6, i think i wouldve passed on him in the draft, i thought he was a legit 5-9 which is a HUGE difference. not saying he cant be a good player, but he sure is much smaller than i would like--which makes his dunking ability all that more incredible

that dunk over spud has to be a top 5 dunk. if he just modified 2 of those--like throwing the ball from 10 steps in from the halfcourt like he did to finish the contest, he wouldnt have looked bad in between.

all in all, this did not compare to spud webb. for those who cant recall, spud did NOT miss a dunk it was a surreal performance and while he didnt connect on much harder dunks that nate did complete--it was his perfection against harder competition that made it an all time sports event.

I just watched the tape of the dunk contest & the only one who robbed AI was AI. He could have been a lot more creative in the dunk off. Nate went out there and made something up right there which showed in the 14 misses and the difficulty of Nate's dunk was greater too. AI is very powerful guy and he could have done something a little harder and more creative.

But u gotta love nate. You could tell he was getting tired but he didn't give up. I love his emotion an heart to not give up. He deserved it. Mannnn did I love it when he pumped the "New York" logo on his jersey!

AI had 2 amazing dunks. The behind the backboard dunk and the off the backboard behind the back dunk.

I know its in the rules but come on (14 attempts at one dunk?) just took a little bit of luster off that last one.

Both did between the legs dunk and it took Nate like 10 times to do it.

They have to change the rules. You shouldn't be able to take 14 attempts to get one.

Nate wouldn't have needed the tiebreaker if he had made his first dunk on his first attempt, I think he got penalized a little on his very first dunk because of all the attempts. And everyone is right AI did lose this by himself.

On a side note... did anyone notice Kobe and LeBron give the "c'mon wtf is this bull****" look while Nate was missing on his dunks? Also at one point the camera did a closeup of Kobe's face while Nate was missing his other dunks and you could make out the words "what the ****" (with a grimace/hater expression) on his face.

I never knew LeBron was a hater just like Kobe, **** both of them b*tches.

I did notice Kobe! I can't wait till Nate gives him a Childs-job to the chops!!

And about the rules, it's fine with me if they change them, nothing will ever take away from the magic of last night. I was hanging on every one of Nata's dunks, actually threw myself off my chair and onto the floor on a couple of his misses. It was such great theatre! What more entertainment value could a fan or league exec hope for???

Lebron and Ariza have history that goes back to HS. Lebron is a hater like Kobe. I did feel that Nate got too many chances but them the rules. It is actually a good rule because it takes away that safe crap dunk for more creative style dunks. If Nate was 6'6", it would look crazy to take that many shots but at 5'7" that dude attempts should get a 40+ attempt. Most guys in the NBA 6'6" can't even pull that off. VC is right about Lebron, he should be a man and enter the contest for himself. I mean competing in the skills competition. Come on Lebron.

the nba can tell any player to partake in any of the allstar festivities EXCEPT the dunk contest. that's why you see big names in the 3 point shootout as well as in the skills competition. it's part of the new CBA. since lebron is not a rook or soph, the nba can force him to do the skills or 3 point shootout, but not the dunk contest.

edit - add the shooting stars challenge as well. that's why kobe was in it.

I dun like the fact that Nate did his a billion times before gettin gthem, but it seemed like all AIs dunks were variations of the same behind the back stuff. Great dunks but not awhole lot of creativity.

What made Nate's dunks even more amazing is that it showed what kind of athlete and condition he is in to get his dunk down after a number of attempts...everyone who has played basketball in any shape or form knows how much strength and energy that must have taken.

If you are just considering each of their best dunks, I would give it to Nate since he did it on the first attempt and AI took like 5 tries to get his right.

Like Barkley said "He's only jumping over little spud webb"

I thought Iggy had 2 original dunks and that's hard to do now a days and should be looked and scored better. He also did the between legs dunk but did it with his off hand. Iggy won IMO. And BTW how lame of one judge to put up score and then put it down and put up lesser score when he saw other scores. Him doing that gave nate the win.

That never happened. Watch the video, TNT got it wrong.
