Sorry guys, but Briggs is 100% correct. We are playing stupid. We are playing soft. We are playing like we've never picked up a round ball before. Bynum has some big time raw skills on both ends. He's going to be a big time player years down the road. Yes, he has looked ugly at times this season, but hey, so have Frye, Nate and Lee and Ariza. It's sad that anyone would defend this current Knicks team. Everyone on it is accountable. Isiah, Dolam, Brown, Marbury, the rookies, vets, everyone. The whole team sucks.

Forget Bynum, Kwame Brown was abusing Curry in the first half. Are some of you going to use the lame ass excuse that Curry had already shut it down or wasn't mentally into it in the first half?

basketball is a game of confidence. you can look at what's happening on the court and be pissed, but you have to realize WHY it's happening. call it excuses, fine. you want a scapegoat, fine. it's the american way to ignore why there are problems and demand someone's head.

What are we ignoring? That this is a very mentally weak team? That they aren't as good as Isiah and his band of Kool-Aid drinkers want everyone to believe and no amount of time is going to change that? That this "rebuilding" talk is just talk since this "core" isn't worth building around and we have no lottery pick this year or next or in 2010 and no cap room for even longer?

No one is drinking any freakin' Kool-Aid. Everyone knows the team sucks, but the team sucked before he got here too. If he is fired, bfd, but as long as Little Dolan is in power, it won't make a f cking difference.

That Marbury is playing hurt and he was the only vet on the team worth a damn? That this is a very young team that's playing in an absolute circus right now? That the coach is losing his mind and has put a different starting lineup on the floor for ten straight games?

This team has 11 new players since last season's trading deadline. there's a different lineup every night. there's no continuity. it's not a coincidence that the one bright stretch of the season came when Brown set the lineup.

There is talent here. It doesn't need excuses, but it probably needs time.

This is such a circus right now, I think you'll get your wish and Isiah will go. But Rich is right, with Dolan in charge, does it really matter? The next guy who comes in will just have a win now edict and any dissent will send you the way of Marv Albert.

99% of knick fans would rather have Bynum and the first pick in the draft this year than curry and frye---make no mistake about it--even if you dont want to admit it--its the truth

no make girlie excuses for the knicks.

forget bynum---right now i would trade ANYONE on this team i would rip it apart. The only guy left would be Lee

i just got back from the game and i was WAITING for this thread. classic. i thought briggs would take the modest approach and not make a post, letting bynum do the talking but briggs is gloatin like a son of a bitch. classic.

i was watching bynum closely tonight. he's bigger than curry. younger. and is just a baby with some nice fundamentals. he didn't get rattled and he has shown spunk vs. shaq already. i like him alot.

if the choice is curry and bynum...i've already seen curry, and i've just got a little glimpse at bynum. i would go with bynum b/c, gasp, he's 5 years younger and bigger and more importantly, plays bigger.

Because the team sucked before he got here means it's ok that they suck even more now??? I hate Dolan as much as I hate Isiah but you can't get an owner fired. You can hope for a GM that actually has a rebuilding plan and knows what he's doing unlike Isiah.

Where did I say that? My point is that any GM that Dolan hires will get a "win now" mandate, which is what animates all the sh tty trades and signings.

Dolan merely has to be disowned or disinherited by his dad, or at least reassigned. As long as he is here, the Knicks will suck.

btw, Did anyone consider that the reason the Knicks didn't draft Bynum is because Dolan told Isiah to draft a player who could help immediately?

It is likely also the reason that Layden traded Camby and a high first round pick for McDyess.

I don't think that's true. They've already toned down the "win now" stuff and talk about rebuilding. Isiah isn't the right person for the job and needs to be replaced immediately especially if they are truly going the rebuild route.

They've toned down the "win now" talk because the facts on the ground changed: Houston became disabled, and then retired.

Remember, when Isiah traded for Marbury, he said it was to pair him and Houston. If Houston had stayed healthy, and he had been able to trade for Rasheed, his plan may have worked. Personally, I would have preferred blowing up the team instead.

He also inherited a $90 million payroll that contained contracts that would have kept them over the cap for three years, iirc.

Has Isiah done a great job? No, but I don't think Dolan would ever permit a rebuild except by necessity, which is what they are faced with now.

But go ahead, fire Isiah. I just don't things are likely to get better.

Come on, Houston was already breaking down before Isiah got here. If that was his plan then he's an even bigger idiot for building around a 30+ year old SG with bad wheels.

Yeah he inherited a bad cap situation but that's no excuse to compound mistakes and go even further over the cap for an even longer period of time.

It can't get much worse, can it?
