what does your statement have to do with the amount of bad plays Nate makes while handling?

Not all guards turn the ball over as much as Nate.

Stevie Nash leads the league in turnovers. Why? is he a bad decision maker, or does it have something to do with the fact that he has the ball in his hands 95% of the time?

you're going to blow his mind with that one

Nash also leads the league in assists.

Nate is a secondary ball-handler. Comparing his numbers to Nash is dumb.

Nate and charlie V serve the almost the same function for their respective teams.

what SGs fit that description?

Though a SF Bruce Bowen comes to mind.

I am not saying he is the answer just bringing something up....

Wasn't Larry quoted as saying that he told Ariza to "Play like Bruce Bowen"?

It is only dumb to try and have a logical discussion with you.

You said not all guards turnover the ball as much as Nate. I agree that not all guards do. But guards (even the really good ones like Luke Skydenhour) tend to have higher turnovers than front court players. That is a fact. Comparing Nash and Nate is not dumb, because they are both guards and I was trying to illustrate a point, which I think I did rather beautifully.

Comparing Charlie V and Nate's TO's is actually dumb because they play 2 totally different games. CV is a 6-11 frontcourt player, and nate is a 5-7 backcourt player. the only thing they have in common is that they are rookies.

Charlie V plays on the perimeter. Not in a Frye manner where he is spotting up for jumpshots, he plays like a 6'11 guard.

and Ridnour is not a turnover machine. 1.88 a game.

Nash plays in a high paced high risk/high reward offense. Nate plays in a half-court feed the post work inside-out offense. Nate turns he ball over alot b/c he does a lot of dumb things and has poor recognition like when he threw that pass to AD on the break. Nate should know not to give the ball to Davis in that position.

If they play the same role on offense shouldn't Charlie's assists be higher? I think Charlie right now is a better player, but Nate is catching up to him.

Charlie - TOs: 1.12 Assists: 0.9
Nate: - TOs: 1.63 Assists: 1.8

Aroujo is not Curry and James and Bosh iso alot on the opposite side of the court.

Charlie can play all 3 front-court positions effectively making him a match-up nightmare; Nate will never catch up to that. Guys in Nate's class are Salim and Head.

Salim- 9.5 pts, 2 rebs, 1.5 assists, .5 steals, 1.5 TO- 19.5 minutes

Head- 9 pts, 3.5 rebs, 2.4 assists, 1 steal, 1.7 TO-28.3 minutes

Nate- 9 pts, 2.9 rebs, 1.8 assists, .6 steals, 1.7 TO-20 minutes

as a parallel, over the last 5 with the improved play of the Knicks he is at 12.8, 3.8, 4.2, 1 stl, 3 TO's

Charlie cannot effectively play center but he can stand there and play like a center because he is 6-11. But I agree with your point about their values. Which is again why the comparison between them is foolish. YOu are comparing a big and a small, it just doesn't work.

I'm comparing ball-handlers.

Can you compare a guy like Brad Miller or KG to certain guards? I say yes because Brad Miller/KG spend alot of time on the perimeter inititing the offense.

KG doesn't have ball-handling duties as much as Nash or Kidd but he does have it as much as a Vince Carter or Jason Williams.
