This reeks of placating the critics. After getting torched in the media the last week or so they're going with the full blown "Playing the kids" P.R. move. Nevermind the fact that the kids aren't even legitimate NBA starters much less playing them out of position.

Forcing them into starters roles will just expose them, especially against other teams starters and not the backups that they've been playing against. But that's the way Isiah's Knicks are run, more concerned with public perception than actually doing the best thing for the franchise.

I dont know why but I find this post to be absolutely hilarious, but anyway I dont agree with your view becuase the knicks did just fine against the bucks with nate and lee starting. its true that we lost but that was becuase of crawford, not nate or lee. although now that I think about it whether they can do well consistantly is another thing.

^ Oh I know why I found it funny, becuase islesfan found yet another way to bash isiah in a thread that had essentially nothing to do with him, and made the transition between topics seemlessly.

I agree. Playing the rookies and IF Marbury play like he did against Milwaukee every night and lead the team then we will win more games

i don't understand why crawford doesn't but my thinking is two-fold: 1. he wants crawford at the point and 2. we'd have nobody to run the team off the bench.

wow, people are starting to get it
Not really. If you start both Marbury and Crawford and if you believe that they are the only 2 players who can run the team's offense, then you make sure that you don't have any moments where both of them are on the bench at the same time. Then one of them is always running the offense. (I still would start Nate because he plays hard on both ends of the court on a more consistent basis than Jamal, but that's a separate topic.)

so lets say Marbs has to rest, and JC has to leave the game due to foul trouble, who plays the point?

How often will that be? Certainly not often enough to dictate who's in your starting lineup. Marbs plays all but 9 min per game and Jamal is almost never in foul trouble.

It begins and ends with the defesne. For those who can see the games one can see it ain't like it shows up in the boxscore.

Frye is doing some wonderful things, and getting nice minutes. But Starting is not as important as finishing. If you start and get 3 fouls in the first half, your pretty much out until th 4th.

Lee entered college as a 6-4 sf and grew to 6-9. He can do it.

Long term is longer than 28 games, and would extend into next season.

Larry is right to do what he is doing. Who cares if we are 7-21 or 11-17? Better to build on the kinds than ride a few victories with vets.

For Crying Out Loud, FREEEEE WOOOOOODS. Give him some PT. Where is he in this rotation? I'm not saying he's the savior, but at least give him a chance to fail before you bury him on the bench. he's the only legit SF on the whole roster 6'8 220. I perfer Lee as a hybrid 3-4-5 off the bench. Give Q-Woods a few games to start, and if he fails then bury him. But give him a shot.
Mu thoughts Exactly.

you guys really kill me.

Brown has an utterly complex offensive scheme for those who have never done it before, AND he stresses rebounding and defense before the offense. Woods is not know for his defense. Lee is a hardworker who has been giving it all since the beginning of training camp and you want Brown just to had the starting position to Woods? What kind of good reasoning is that?

You guys aren't reading into this the right way.

You're just looking at the surface. Maybe Brown actually has an incentive to do what he does.....don't ya think?
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

^ Cmon Albert, we all know watsup.

He's changing the lineup b/c he hates the roster + he's giving every player a different look in the rotation. He probly also hates Isiah. Where's Pat Croce when you need him...

Please tell us the source of your wisdom. A coach with a glistening resume fraught with nothing but accomplishment on the hardcourt is attempting to confuse the players and lose to shake up the roster and embarass the GM. Hmmmmm-must be right

I am so glad Lee and Woods played so well! now Ariza can play his shandon anderson role and only play if someone is injured. I told you there was hope with Lee's jumpshot! I can't tell you how excited I was when he opened up the game draining 2 deep shots! Then he proceeded to even hit huge 3's down the stretch!!! And Woods played hard once again and grabbed another huge rebound!

When did David Lee hit "huge 3's down the stretch"? Lets calm down here. He didnt even attempt a 3.

who do you think will start at PF next game Frye or Taylor. hopefully Frye..i doubt AD is able to play.

p.s. I could've sworn Lee hit a 3 from the right baseline in one of the OTs...if not some of those were very close to being 3's. 10 for 11 from the field?! not bad for a guy who can't shoot and the poster child of Larry resigning to losing!

he had a three point play in the 3OT. hey, if he can hit the 15ft jumper all year, it will have the same benefit for our offense: spreading the floor.

yeah man he was 10 for 11 and at least half of those where just inside the 3pt line! and he finishes around the basket AND he's an explosive dunker and the rebounding!! Ohhh baby!!! He'll do better defensively once he's more comfortable guarding SF's
