But you can't deny that he would help our offense. But it will still be nothing more than another stopgap solution
I just hope that people will like me

I saw 90% of the games last year, how about you? Timmy was dreadful early. His sister died and he was raising her kids. If you have ever lost a sibling, then you know it hurts: real bad. So no excuse but there were extenuating factors. He got his act together in the second half and destroyed people in some games. Not every night. But Herb Williams geared the offense around him, and that should tell you something. Herb has been an assistant for a long time with that team. If he thought that highly of him, maybe he has game after all. Larry Brown, the great one, has also said he would be playing major minutes if he were on this team.
Every single year of his career it's been something. He has never raised his game, intensity, focus, "killer instinct," anything. He made his huge contract on potential, physical gifts, and occasional - and that's a deadly word here - great games.

TT and KVH were separated at birth and somehow their paths keep crossing like the 2 Kirks in parallel universes.

A team of Jerome James' would probably beat a team full of Felton Spencer's but what's the point.

The point is that that would probably be the greatest game of basketball ever played. You'd just have to change the foul limit on each player to 20. Give or take.

Interesting take on TT from this Sporting News writer. Sense of entitlement pervaded TT since he was 16. Also might have hurt him to come out after one year at Villanova. Didn't get the fundamentals straight. Let's face it, when guys get to the pros, it is often too late. Coaches don't have the patience. Look at LB bitching to the media now about his young guys. I never said TT lived up to his potential. I am just saying that he is a better small forward than what we have now and might have given us at least 3 more wins.

We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

geez louis rice and peas.

I'll go even better. If Brown was playing to the strengths of players and settled on a starting five and 8 man rotation during pre-season like everyone else in the league the Knicks would have 10 more wins!!!

I kinda disagree. At least KVH plays hard and has a head on his shoulders. I wasn't that big on Keith but clearly he's a better player to have than Tim Thomas, even if Timmy had that "Higher ceiling." Not Keith is in the perfect role where he has no pressure, and Dallas is contending.

last i heard, tim thomas is at home playing video games.

the legacy of tim thomas is not one as a player but as the man that introduced the word FUGAZY into the ny basketball dictionary vernacular.

Skiles never wanted TT. The anti TT guys can't blame TT if he never was given a chance there. Maybe Paxson and Skiles should have talked more before putting a guy on their roster the coach didn't want to play. Dumb. Skiles probably resents TT underachieving and making the big bucks. Fine. But if he can help the team, and he has to be better than Nocioni and whoever else, Othella Harrington?, then play the guy. Politics exist even at the pro level.

I doubt politics has anything to do with Nocioni playing ahead of TT. Nocioni simply helps his team a lot more than TT will. No GM would play TT ahead of Nocioni.

Your opinion dude, not mine. Bulls are on a 5 game slide. Let's see how long Skiles starts Nocioni. He is limited.

You saved me some typing!

Irregardless of record, Nocioni has already proven himself a much better NBA player than TT. Look at his game log: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3882/gamelog;_ylt=AvpMQ27CMGyovVqvK4AVl2ykvLYF

He plays an all-around game and he plays defense too; he had 5 blocks last night! Also last year as a rookie, he single-handedly won a playoff game with 25 points and 18 rebounds. Nocioni's 18 rebounds were the most by a rookie in a playoff game.

The difference between the two? TT has all the talent, Nocioni has the heart and brains.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Imagine if he had fortitude to work hard and adapt to LB how much he could have contributed.

He is making 14 million doing nothing.

Do you guys listen to yourselves? It seems like its the same group of people who claim that Brown sucks who want TT back.

Guess what, Brown will turn this team into a winner and develop the young players, just like he had in EVERY other job he has ever had. And guess what, TT will never average more then 14pts 5brds a game. You want to cry over a mediocre player who plays no defense whatsoever and plays like he would get manhandled in the WNBA, go ahead.

I'm willin to be PATIENT and let somebody who is a proven winner do his thing. I don't care if we finish with 12 wins or 42 wins, its about building for the future. The team is already showing gret improvement in the new year, whether they will continue to win with subpar talent is a different story, but the effort is there already.

All in all, I'm going with Brown and his proven track record and my own eyes that have seen TT play like a girl and cost us a season last year. You guys want to go with your imaginations of could have been, and your impatiene and willingness to throw yet another coach under the bus cause he could have won 3 more games, I feel bad for you cause its gonna be tough.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Kinda OT, but I think LBs rotations untill the last several games have been atrocious and that has lost us at least 5 games, if not more. That being said it seems like he's doing a good job teaching the system and indivdual basketball smarts. I loved how he pulled Nte aside i garbage time after Nate made a sorta crazy run to the hoop. The worst is over hopefully and though LB blew it earlier IMO, I think he has corrected that and we can also reap the benefis of his teaching now. No way he gets fired.

EnySpree - don't let the smooth taste fool you.

when was the last time Tim Thomas ran the floor, passed the ball decisively or dunked in traffic?

Besides, Qyntel can play the two. Hopefully, Larry and the coaching staff will brief him of the benefits of success in The Big Apple.

How emphatically can I state that I don't miss Timmy Thomas?

I'll let this stand.
