I have been a fan for many years. And I would venture to say if Pat riles ws coaching this team we would have a better record period. there is no reason why this team should not have won more than six games. now how can you justify that? martty...

agreed man, this team could have won more than 6 games if Larry was exclusively out to win, but he is not. He is trying to win, but more importantly he is trying to teach his guys to play the right way first and foremost. And this is at the expense of winning. You look at Larry's track record at every NBA team he has been with and they suffer early and maybe for the whole year. That's just the way it is.

We're losing b/c Larry refused to go through "get rich quick" schemes.

He won't win just for the sake of winning. He wants his plays to play the right way foremost. Winning comes afterwards.

Here's the thing though -- we ARE protecting a lottery pick here. So while I want the players to grow, I don't necessarily wanna give up a top 5 pick in the process.

I hope things pick up.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Why because all the sudden the Heat are 3-0 now that Riley is coaching, whoops I mean Shaq has returned to the lineup? Wheres Larry Browns Shaq and Dwayne Wade?

bet with a winner in Larry. He has proven it over and over and over again. He took the Clippers to the playoffs, he can do anything.

Ignore the 6 wins. There were about 5 of them that were VERY winnable on some free throws and late calls and a little luck. And then we would be talking about 11-12. Oh, and throw in that the Knicks have been on the road AND have had one of the hardest schedules, and you got what the Knicks are: a just-under .500 team.

Good post Bobs I agree 100% and feel the same way.

Larry Brown is coaching this team so that they not only win the games but to win games the right way. He's coaching this team so that 1 or 2 years from now when they are in a Game 7 in the playoffs, score tied at 87-87 with 2:00 minutes left ball in the Knicks hands, that this team doesnt bring the ball up and blow the game with a stupid possession. It's a learning process and the guys are going to learn or leave and the guys that learn it correctly will stay. Plain and simple.

Again, it's about Lee, not Curry.
Sure, you believe the Briggs' rumor because Briggs overhead Isiah's conversations. But what if that rumor is false and Chicago was unwilling to do the deal with draft pick protection. Then it is about Curry, not Lee.

I know you are right about Lee, but even if it was just for Curry, like I said below I wouldnt trade a top 5 pick + Sweetney for Curry. Even if it wa for Curry, which it wasnt, but even if it was--why pay over the top when NO other team was willing to pay? thats my whole shin dig--why did we go overboard in terms of compensation? Chicago was staring at NOTHINg--would a lottery protected 31 and Sweetney be fair value vs NOTHING? again were staring at two HIGH lottery picks in the face going to the Bulls+ Sweetney--every time I think about it, it was insane--for kobe bryant yes, for eddie curry NO.

Briggs you were willing to give up the Knicks #8 pick for Kwame Brown.

Let’s not go about Isaiah too deep.
Because it will come too the shaky ground of what is better;
Brain and BB IQ or pure athletism;
Black players or white players;

Isaiah has his opinion set on this subjects plain strait and the reality shows that he is plain wrong. You cannot translate you personal lifetime battle (with Bird) into you job - you will be a sure loser...

Wow; was he really? That would have really set this team backward.
