It's really just a media soap opera. They'll CREATE a new soap opera if Marbury is traded.

Yeah the MEDIA created all this friction between Marbury and LB. I guess Marbury being benched last game was just a MEDIA creation. Go see Chris Rock's bit on the MEDIA.

Ya but Briggs, the question is -- would Petrie trade Bibby for a player who has a track record such as Steph's?

Marbury isn't THAT much of an upgrade over Bibby as far as on-court performance, and Bibby trumps Stephon in the "selflessness," "playmaking," and "clutchness" depts.

Steph's a better passer no doubt, and arguably the better talent, but again...does he provide Sac-town with something Bibby doesn't?

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I don't know, he's not on my speed-dial. I'm not clamoring for a Marbury trade, I just presented an avenue that could be explored. If this is going to be an annoyance all frikin year, then I'm sure even Marbs would want out. Right now LB could let loose and conform to the roster a bit better, let Steph play with more free flow. Did Magic Johnson play the right way?

I agree that right now Marbs would be more effective freelancing off the ball, no question. But question is....is that good for us in the long run? B/c apparently LB would think not.

And of course he played the right way silly goose.

If we were willing to take Kenny Thomas off their hands, they might do it.

Magic might carried out the game plan in the wrong way- behind the back passes etc. But he had the right game plan - that got the most out of the team.

Marbury is mostly interested in getting the most out of Marbury. I agree at the two that's less important (though still less then optimal) - but we don't have another one.

LOL... What's this??? Are you suggesting anything?

Now, I think what needs to happen is that we have to be patient and see if Craw could be a servicable PG under LB while Marb plays mostly the 2 guard. It's only been 9 games, but it's clear that Marbury is not a floor general. I thought he got mature considering what he's gone thru and this being his 10th season, but that's not the case. Can we expect him to totally drop the "me-first" attitude and become a player that WINS games? I highly doubt it. He's a 2.

Oldfan, the knicks were losing, Marbury feels he could do more to help the team win than what his role is. Even the fans were saying we don't need a 20mil pg to do what Marbury is doing. Marbury felt the same way. Its not like we were winning games and he was complaining about shots. I don't remember him being upset when we won 2 games in a row.

As for Bibby which I originally wanted to talk about. I think he would fit in real nice with this group. His pure shooting ability is what this team needs. And would compliment Crawford's on the ball play making ability nicley. But we would lose Marbury's ability to get into the pain.

I'm sure we would probably find a reason to hate on Bibby to if he were to come here.

I'm sure we'd hate on his ability to score within the flow of the offense and not force the issue just to have production b/c he feels as if he NEEDS to.

I'm sure we'd hate his ability to come up big in the clutch.

I'm sure we'd hate his unselfish attitude.

Btw, I was thinking about it when I was sleeping last night.

If it took Kenny Thomas to get Bibby I'd pull the trigger without really thinking about it twice.

He's an average defender, and 1 of the best rebounders for his size. He doesn't have much range, but he's 1 of those "score without the ball" type guys.

Bad contract, but good role player, plus his aggression on the glass would be useful when your Center and future PF (Frye) aren't known for their rebounding...

If we had Curry, Frye/AD, K-Thom, and Bibby, I wouldn't mind going after an Eddie Jones for SG...

Q, IMO, is all but useless. Don't mind keeping him for short stretches off the bench, but he's just not performing.

Bibby, K-Thom for Marbs, Barnes, and a 2nd would suit me fine...

More pipe dream Marbury trade threads... LOL

I guess those of us who know Steph will stay here can get a good chuckle out of all of this madness.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Yes...just like in Minnesota, and Phoenix, and New Jersey.

Obviously some Knick fans (and I'm rounding down here) want him gone for SOME reason.

Are you suggesting it doesn't matter what those "some" fans think. That they're wrong and Marbury and his buddies (aka YOU), are right?

Find out next time....on MSG!

When it comes to not jumping on the knee-jerk bandwagon, absolutely. Some "fans" have hated on Stephon since forever. I believe he's deserving of a chance to take his game to the next level under Larry Brown's tutelage. He's the best player on this team, and has shown that he's willing to put in the work to help this team win. Also, many "fans" are too fickle to stick with the hate on Stephon to not jump on the wagon when his nightly production becomes more consistent with today's effort (with similar end-game results).

Haters don't matter. Stephon will continue to excel on this team. Personally, I don't see why anyone calling themselves a Knicks fan would see it or hope for anything different.

Yo Bobs, if that was meant for me, feel free to man up and drop the name. I was speaking in general terms, so maybe you shouldn't flatter yourself too quickly. If the phrase "hater" bothers you so much, maybe it's your negative opinion that's in need of a diaper change.

Yeah, SO ignorant. It just got addressed and corrected, though.
