why does everybody keep lumping MoT in with the others? Is it because there are a couple of MoT bashers on the board and they don't want to get in trouble.

MoT has played superbly, jeez.

I wouldn't say SUPERBLY but he has played well. He was great against Boston and then against Washington I think he was just kinda EHHH. I dont think he should be inactive, that should goto JJ and Malik along with Penny right now.

yeah, after I read it I was like, holy sht...that's a bit too much kool aid, made it above average. but still, he's still paid more the JJ and is producing more.

If LB puts JJ, Rose and Penny on the IL, that would be a sign that he's finding out in less the 20 games what this team is gonna be.
all kool aid all the time.

I hear somewhere,(forgot where)
I think it was from a poster here who was speculating
Mike Breen said it. He said during the broadcast that they "looked winded."

They are 22 year old and none broke 20 minutes. For 10 years Ewing "looked winded." He's still got sweat stains on the Knick bench.

Oh okay. I watch the games at a local bar because MSG (or NBA league pass aren't available in Canada). They don't play the volume on the TVs in the bar unfortunately. I think I'd rather have a winded Frye or Lee in the game than our veterans even if they're fresh.

yes unfortunatley that seems to be the case, malik rose seems to be shrinking more and more by the second, and richardson doesnt have his legs, yet.

"I thought they were a little tired," Brown said, "and then I thought down the stretch, I don't want to put the rookies in a tough situation like that."

That apparently was the reasoning behind brown's decision.

we are looking toward building something good here. Do you really think that 3 losses are going to be the difference between a championship or not? I have news for you, we are not winning a championship this year. Will we be competitive, I hope so. If we can agree on that, what else matters except that LB gets a system in place with the right players to get on track with the right players for that championship down the road.

OldFan... In your opinion did Larry Brown make a mistake when he put took the young guys out who were playing well and put in the veteran players who had struggled?

Thats all I said. I never said Brown was bad or the Knicks were doomed. I said he made a mistake and what looked like a pretty obvious one. What was your reaction when LB made that sub?

Fishmike you should read your own quotes what you said was:
we are 0-3
we have a coach that sits young guys
our post up players cant stay out of foul trouble
when young guys play hard the HOF coach yanks them
the very good coach apparently left his knowledge of the game at his old job

until I see something different nothing has changed with this team

Of course the more I read your posts the more I see your point about not reading them.

I don't think people are concerned about the three games. I think they're concerned (prematurely) that Larry will never play the young players enough minutes.

I agree...on another note...

is Rose suddenly 6-7? He must have been blocked like 4 times in his limited minutes, I think both times back to back...like, make a move or something, jeez. Where's aguirre at?

We have a young team.
We have some size.
We have guys who can post up.
We have guys playing hard.
We have a very good coach (I'm going to take his career record and the opinion of his colleagues - over the more over-reactive posters on this board.)

I don't see this team turning it around quickly but I do see an exciting team with the potential to get better.

Basketball is an 82 game season - and this team wasn't put together with the expectations of winning it all this year. Why get all excited over every loss? This to me is a fun team. Lots of young kids to get excited about every time the do anything well. No great expectations to live up to - at least in my mind.

These last few years - we've had teams that were terrible and had no room to grow. The Ewing years were great - but a roller coaster every year you though you could win but never did. To me this team is all upside.

That's just a part of it, but still' very well said. Very well said indeed!
I'll never trust this' team again.

there's no need for patience. we are what we are - a horrible basketball team.

someone figure out Marbury's record here - if they can do so without puking. and then when someone says "we're better off without Marbury" someone else should bring up the fact that last year we were somehow WORSE without Marbury. the team is a joke, the management is a joke, the ownership is a joke. no post game show? we're hiding from the fact that we suck now? or was it going to take that extra time to spin the 6 minute comeback of all-time into a moral victory and try to ignore the fact that the Spurs still won by 12. we deserve to be the laughing stock of the league. I feel bad for the players. most of them could probably come off the bench for decent teams elsewhere.

Ever since Ewing crashed to the floor and shattered his wrist, injury has been our best friend. We had many since that time. Camby, a great leaping blocker and rebounder, couldn't put a season together due to injury. McDyess missed an entire season and didn't amount to much (I even betted that he'd never play a game for us and he nearly didn't), last year Frye went down with a questionable injury and he seems to be having problems right now and lets not forget about our key defender, Jeffries, and he' goes down geez, just before the season started. We have had major injury after injury and always at the wrong times. Actually there's never' a good time for an injury, but just how bad luck can we be? Spree smashed his hand against a wall and missed a good part of one season and it ended up getting him shipped off, only to become great again in MInnesota.

The fact of the matter is, we have been plagued by key injuries for the last number of years and been having trouble putting it all together for one thing. It just isn't helping us right now, which is becoming no surprise.

Oh' and we are 1-2. It just looks better.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Shift Du Jour

Mardy Collins - ice

Marbury - fire

Renaldo Balkman for his length and motor

David Lee for the relentless rebounding

Eddy Curry at center
once a knick always a knick
