uhhh no, it means we should play the rookies and there shouldn't be any reason why the old dogs should play ahead of them.

I was just teasing. Everyone so serious today?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

wrong...I saw 2

the young boys have totally outplayed Malik, AD and Mo combined. They are a lot more deserving of playing time. I am sorry, if they didn't play well in the preseason, you would have had a valid point; but what has Rose done???? not much.

i agree tho, there's ZERO reason to not throw frye, ariza, lee, nate, and butler out there in lieu of AD, malik, and mo. it makes no sense. there's no need to baby them. they were drafted b/c they can help right away and have at least 3 years of college experience.

Dido, remind us again how many preseason games you saw? Zero?

also, good move for swapping all those draft picks, maybe greg oden for inactive david lee--brilliant! ariza was just about the only fun player to watch for most of last year--and now he is demoted???

Nah, this year's draft looks to be weak because of the new age limit. Oden will have to wait until next year to enter the draft. I think Brown will realize soon that he has to play the young guys to win anyway.

Brown nor Isiah never said "We wont play the young kids". Isiah said something along the lines of "We don't play to develop the kids. We play to win." which is the way it should be. It would be a tragedy, however, if all these vets got a ton of playing time, and the kids just sat and watched.

As far as I am concerned other than Malik Rose, AD and Penny, none of these guys can tell me about how they are use to winning (if it is about veterans then why isn't Penny playing?). Besides those three that I just mentioned only James and Q advanced past the second round of a playoff game (only once). As far as I am concern no one is owed much of anything on this team. The motto should be "if you can play ball, you can play. If not, please sit down." From what I seen, Frye and Butler outplayed their counterparts in the preseason games. I don't know what went on in practice. Maybe Rose and Taylor were going crazy; I mean AD had 2 games as a Knick, and a suspension to boot. Ariza and Butler have to play for contracts. There is a good chance you don't get back either.

At this point i have to agree with Briggs about not including Lee in the trade.
I think you mean you have to agree with Briggs' unsubtantiated assumptions about the Curry trade

What part is unsubtantiated? The Knicks gave up picks to keep Lee including their own unprotected lotto pick.

NEW YORK, October 4, 2005 – New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Isiah Thomas announced today that Eddy Curry and Antonio Davis have been acquired from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Tim Thomas, Michael Sweetney, Jermaine Jackson, a conditional first-round draft choice in the 2006 NBA Draft, two future second-round draft selections and the opportunity to exchange a future draft choice. According to NBA rules, the trade is contingent on all players passing their physicals.

Im thinking:

Marbs
Craw
Reezy
Mo T.
Curry.

Frye will get nice minutes with Rose.

Seems to be a lot of Mo T hate in this room. If you guys taped the last couple of preseason games you might want to go rewind and watch them again. Mo T has been playing farily well in the post. I haven't too much watched him play d, but other than Curry and Crawford he was the only person scoring against the Nets. David Lee needs to work on his shot.

well, i understand the darko example, but on the flip side, there's the tayshaun example. so it's a moot point.

I read this blurb out of context, so I am not really trying to argue anything, but I would say that Darko and Tayshaun are not really comparable. Tayshaun played four years of college ball and had at least one NCAA championship:

Tayshaun Prince:

COLLEGE::
Named Second Team All-America by The Associated Press as a junior and Third Team as a senior…Originally an early entry candidate for the 2001 NBA Draft, but withdrew his name from consideration…Three-time Kentucky Team MVP…Finished seventh in Kentucky history in scoring (1,775 points), second in three-point field goals made (204) and attempted (621) and fifth in blocks (142)…In 135 career-college games, averaged 13.1 points on 45.7% (648-1,419 FG) shooting, with 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists

Despite that, LB barely played Prince in his rookie season until the playoffs, where he got a chance and distinguished himself.

Darko has a couple of years before he has the basketball maturity of the rookie Tayshaun Prince.

so no ariza, butler, frye, lee, robinson according to this article--i dont know about anyone else, but curry is the saving grace or i would consider rooting for this team to lose.
It's not about any one young player. Seven of the Knicks' nine talented young players will be on the openning roster.
