Some of you guys are Hypocrites. When a non knick player who is young does well you shrug it off as only preseason and he needs to do it more but if frye went 23 and 12. Mostly EVERYONE on here would be voting him for MVP. Or if Nate or Lee had huge game.

I tried explaining this earlier so I'll go over it one more time. This is ULTIMATEKNICKS.COM. That means other teams need to start their on ultimate website so they can gush over there young studs. As long as they play for the Knicks we will make them seem bigger than life. I don't shill because I want to I shill because no else wants to.

But at he same time, the flip side is other people will brush off things that happen here and go nuts over other players on other teams. You're right there should be balance but that isn't the way either.

Let's get some consistency here.

No doubt some people shrug off big performances from players on other teams, and others get overly excited about games from our own guys. But to be a hypocrite, you have to be a member of both of those groups. Have you done the tally? How many fit?

I'm happy for the guy. While putting up numbers in pre-season is no guarantee that he's going to be a serious player, it's a good sign for someone so young.

Lampe actually had a number of preseason games as a rookie where he shot above 50% and had about 15 points. Maybe this is his natural preseason progression. If he puts these numbers up in the regular season, I'll be impressed (though I still wouldn't regret the Marbury trade).

Good for Lampe, I hope he has a good NBA career. Im happy with what we have though. I doubt he would get mins for us if he played for us. And we recoverd well from losing him with Curry, Frye, Lee, Butler. Plus we got Marbury for him. I can't complain.

i think there is a big differnce in playing 35+ or 10 minutes. When you can play without fear of being taken out after any blotched play, you can play free. You cant really compare what Lampe does until he gets the opportunity to play 35 minutes. If Frye plays 12 minutes and goes 2-6 2 rebounds, it would be the same thing. I dont know what happened, but I think Lampe shouldve been given an opportnutiy to play another 35.

well he didn't get any fouls so it wasn't that but he did go 1-6 so maybe he came out chucking and byron sat his ass. ol' byron is still their coach, isn't he?

The chucking hypothesis seems likely. He was out there for 11 minutes and put up 6 shots, and only hit 1 of them. Over 40 minutes, that's roughly the equivalent of going 4-24. In other words, taking lots of shots while you're on the floor and not hitting most of them.

That's all Lampe does: he comes out and shoots. If he hits his 15-18ft jumper, he's a nice piece. If he doesn't, he doesn't do anything else well enough to warrant playing time. He's like Michael Doleac without the defensive tenacity.

Jerome James is all you need to know about Zeke he doesn't really think things clearly, giving up Lampe was stupid even if he doesn't turn into a great player it what a players value is at the time and James was at a low now we are stuck with two out of shape centers

If Phoenix pulled out of the deal because Zeke held Lampe out, that would have been stupid. Lampe is easily replacable. I remember at one point people were upset about giving up Vuja too, but I think everyone has finally realized he's never coming to America. Vuja and Lampe were all we could cling to at one point. Now that we have real youth that can play, I think it's time to let go.

Why are you guys still talking about the past??? We have the present and the future in front of us....Marb, Crawf, James, Curry are all part of the present......Lee, Frye, Nate, Butler, Reezy are the future...Let's talk about them instead.

I think when you are the NO Hornets, you won 18 games last year, you have an aging PF in Brown and another C in Magliore who wants to leave, I think that if Lampe puts up 23-12-2,he earned 35 minutes the next game. Just like Channing, as a Knick fan I believe both HE and Jackie Butler EARNED time in the next game, and I dont mean a cameo. Channing should get 30-35 and Butler atleast 20. Like Isiah said, best 5 play. So far Butler Frey Curry and Taylor and have been the best 4 up front. I really believe Butler has outplayed Lee. He is not flashy, but the guy is HUGE and knows where to position himself with long arms, and a nice touch. He's definitely a guy who I would be locking up on the cheap for a few years.

Butler has outplayed James at center (aside from James' first quarter in Dallas), but I think Lee has a different role and for the majority of the pre-season has outplayed everyone but Frye at the PF. I'd like to see Frye and Lee get 40 minutes a night at the PF. Let MoT play 8 minutes for offense.

Anyway... Isiah couldnt even draft one starter quality player with 3 #1's so why lament over a pick here or a pick there?

It sounds like you're criticizing zekes draft. How many players picked after #8 in the draft are starting for their team?
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

i've seen lampe play in person. he's slow, lumbering with zero hops. yes he's big, but hates playing on the inside close to the basket. oh well. he's young and he's getting paid.
