Nash HOF points are 159. Typically 135 (marbs) gets you in. 75 points for a MVP season! Nash is a shoo in!

Kidd is at 196. Also a shoo in.

I agree about Kidd, I don't think there is any doubt. Nash I don't know. I think the MVP will help but I also think that what he does this season in the absence of Amare will count more. He is being challenged this season and this will go along way to establishing his legacy.

How many points do they give you for an undeserved MVP award? Do they deduct points if your team sucks the next year when the PF is out and it's reaalized that he, not the PG, was their best and most valuable player. This is all hypothetical of course. I'm not referring to anyone named Steve Nash!

It was well deserved.

He is in! An MVP season is tough to beat!

Im not there to debate this old issue, just that he vaulted Marbs with those points.

I can also doubt the validity of it, but it is what it is, and he galvanized his place, and more than justified his contract!

Sure only if your name isn't Shaq, Iverson, Stoudamire, Allen or Wade.

exactly; it's not so much that he didn't deserve the award as it is that several players deserved it ahead of him. I'd include all the ones you listed above except AI and Ray.

To be fair, i think both Allen and AI did better jobs with what they had to work with compared to Shaq, Wade and Nash. AI numbers for 2003-2004 were better than his 2000-2001 ones. I understand record has something to do with it. Look at what Allen did for Seattle another team that wasn't expected to compete and he didn't have the other type of players that Nash, Shaq or Wade had.

I'm with some of you guys. Houston should not be disrespecting like he has in the past. He was a key to some very good teams here in New York and was instrumental in our last finals run. Without a doubt we will miss his shooting. Forget the one-dimensional arguments, not everyone can be well rounded. The guy was great, a great citizen, played hard, made us proud, hit big shots but he does not deserve to have his number retired. Only the greats!
I just hope that people will like me

No - H20 was good, but not great. I loved him, but he spent a large part of his career somewhere else...and he didnt win anything here. I dunno, as much as I like the guy - it just doesnt feel right.
