Please. Marbury laid 5 ft off people and they still got by him. The mo-fo told Lenny leave me in 48, I'll take my breaks on D during the Nets series and actually had the cahonies to re-gurgitate that to the press. you wonder why Kidd made it look so easy.

shot-blocker or no shot-blocker there is no reason for Steph to get beat off the dribble by Dan Dickau.

i love steph but i gotta admit there were a lot of times when his actions on the court spoke to exactly what you're reeferring to.

It happened a lot more in the 2nd half of the season after he'd worn down (particularly his knee) from playing an unreasonable # of minutes and carrying 100% of the scoring load. I really didn't see the problematic defense you're referring to in the 1st half of the season. And definitely no one was posting about it in the 1st half of the season.

WTF? It was happening as early as December 4th when we played the Bobcats where Brev was totally uncontainable getting into the lane at will.

Brevin Knight: 9 points, 18 assists, 5 steals , 5-6 FTs.

the no.s by Marbury's man don't lie. Steph could give a fat baby's *** about defending.

You're talking about one game? I bet mediocre guards like Knight have had outstanding games against even Allen Iverson. I was talking about the entire first half of the season, not one game. Look at 82games.com if you want an analysis of how Marbury's man performs if you want to rely on stats (which you appear to since you're citing Brevin's). You might be surprised by the low #s of his opponent.

AI has more pride as a player than that.

Relying on what I saw, not stats. I pointed out 1 game to debate your 2nd half weardown theory as a cause. There were others like Milt Palacio and Marcus Banks in the 1st couple months of the season. Its not about the final boxscore. Does 82games.com break it down qtr by qtr we culd get a true analysis of just how Steph's noncommitment effected NY's success. His man's mid 3rd to 4th quarter numbers are undoubtedly extremely high.

What month was it that Isiah declared Steph was the worse defensive player in the league? The man pooring the kool-aid in yor cup had to acknowledge it but you still say he wasn't that bad. The force is strong in you Steph-lover!

I love Marb, but he really doesn't do a good job on defense. He has all the skills in the world to be a decent defender, but has yet to prove that he can use them. Rest assure, Brown will get him to play some to his potential...

ahhh, jamal crawford AKA the $55mil 2004 knicks lottery pick.

let's see what jamal looks like in april. if there is no progress shown over the next 6 months, then there should be some cause ofr concern. but right now, i have zero problems letting him run the point and giving him time to learn and grow from LB. and if he can't improve, then it's really all on him. (same goes for pretty much every player on the roster).

Marbury was constantly beat by very mediocre PGs last year. Milt Palaio, Mike James, Jamal Tinsley... a lot guys had their way with him. He did not play hard on D.. plain and simple.
