Did Frye underachieve in school or did he do what he was asked? I thought he was a key part of a very strong program, and history shows he played at a higher level in big games.

Isiah thinks Frye has franchise talent. We know he's already been a good worker so far, so time will tell.

I would have liked (like Solace) to at least see them take a shot at franchise talent. Not every draft is about taking shots at franchise talent. Sometimes its good to just come away with core players that build the strength of your team. The amount of people high on Bynum was a little scary to pass up IMO. Water under the bridge (lots of water in recent years).

The hope is a Sweetney, Crawford, Nate, Lee, Frye or Ariza blossums into a bigtime player. The more of these guys you get the better a chance of that happening. If they dont you have a group of *good* young players with cap friendly contracts.

Bynum will be a superstar probably. But that's in the past now. We have Frye and I am thinking maybe not this year, but will soon be a really good player and most of us are really going to like him. He's a good arse player.

why? You really like him that much? I thought he was an OK role player next to Lewis, Allen and a couple of the NBA's best rebounders in Fortson and Lewis. Take him out of that system and he's a (very) poor man's Wally Szerbiak.

Dammit fishmike, I gotta pay the billz!! I can't argue with you all day.

Vladimir Radmanovic:

Radmanovich was well suited to the Seattle system. Outside of that, yes, I think he has borderline star potential, similar to Detlef Schrempf.

At 24, he is tall, strong and a very good athlete. He is a good long-range shooter. He has good assists and rebounding numbers. He has a very nice handle for his size and he makes remarkable passes at times. In other words he is well-rounded. I like having well-rounded players.

His weaknesses are: He likes the outside shot too much (Though he is on a gunning squad.). He should get his percentage up over 45%. He might have some injury issues.

I actually like his game more than Rashard Lewis', but Rashard has some playground savvy that VR can't match in many ways.

For the record I think that Sczerbiak is a pretty good player, better than he gets credit for on this board and in general lately.

I wish we would have signed him too.....I think he might have a breakout season.

Lewis is a nice player but he totally bitched up against San antonio. If Radmon were available who knows what would have happened. Radmon seems to lift his game when the heat is out.

I wasnt trying to argue! Honestly I wanted to know what you saw in him that I didnt. Despite a tumultuous (sp?) offseason of posting the thing I really like about these forums is I value the opinion and insight of other posters, especially regarding other players.

I like Wally too but he's pretty one dimensional.

no one expects bynum to be as good as shaq. the question is will he have a better career than Frye and I'll go out on the limb and say YES! why? well for one at 17 he arguably out played a 22yr old in every aspect other than jumpshooting and running the floor which championship bigman don't do. They post up, play great low poat defense and blocks shots and contain other 280LB NBA centers and PFs

"skilled beast" , "tough 2-way frontcourt potential stud player"

The hype over a kid who has done nothing is what I object to. I give him less then a 1 in 10 shot of being a Stud. And I give him a 1 in 20 of doing it in less then 5 years and those odds are much worse in NY. NY is no place to be a long-term project.
