Didn't you guys ever watch "The Price is Right". Marv you should have said 13 points!

you're probably right. KT won't let me down though. he'll come in at a nice solid 11.5!
I doubt it will be double digit scoring for KT.

Why? I think it will be solid double digits for sure. With all of the doubling for Amare and Nash someone is going to get shots and Kurt is nasty from 12-15 feet. Especially if his defener is going to double, which is likely.

I'm always game. I work in the city have a pair of sneaks for walking to the train. Hell... I will race ya down 5th Ave when the lights change. 50 yard dash is my forte but I can handle 100. Anything longer and I poop out.

I didnt used to think I was very fast. Good speed for sure, but not *fast*
Yet everytime I race a guy I think has bigtime speed I win. I'm kind of just waiting to lose in a way.. go figure.

Where do you work? Perhaps we can make this happen.
Kind of childish, but interesting at the same time.

I think that will help Marion more han Kurt. Also, I doubt KT will be able to run up and down with the rest of the Suns. I think KT will be used mostly for defense and very rarely on offense.

OK, I can see that. Suns _may_ not be as much of a running team as last year though. And if the PHO coaches play it right, Kurt will be on the opposite side of where the offense starts (Nash and Amare playing 2-ball), where the ball will end up in his hands after all of the defense rotates. We'll see.

I'll predict 12/8 for Kurt. This year he actually has some fairly good rebounders in the frontcourt with him unlike last year.

That's fair. I was thinking he would have a career year though. Maybe 14, 15 and 10, 50% shooting as always. It's like I said, I think Phoenix will be underrated defensively now, b/c they can shift the defensive positions now. Amare guards the quicker guys and KT gets the beefed up Tim Duncans, Yaos, ect... He does well against those types of guys. Phoenix is going to be a really interesting team this season.

I dont know what the #s will be but I think some will be literally shocked at how good a player KT is when he's got some talent around him, especially talent up front. Look how good Duncan made Nazr look. Amare will have KT looking like an all star, and I'm pretty sure Suns fans will be saying Qwho pretty quickly. The x factor in that trade is Nate. If he's a stud we got a steal. If he's Dujaun Wagner its a wash

Enyspree I cannot impress this on you enough. DON'T RUSH BACK!!!! Do not try to do anything that puts undue torque or lateral pressure (Pivoting and cutting.) on your knee until you feel 100%. While your knee is weak you are ripe for a meniscus tear. Probably other injuries too. In addition, you will probably weigh more than you are used to, so that only adds to the risk. As I am sure you know, basketball is very streesful to your knee, more than most sports. When you are recovering from a knee injury it can be dangerous. Do basketball drills before you try to actually play. Play with some buddies that know you are hurt to practice before you try to play competively.

If your knee feels weak or anything like it in January, don't force yourself back. Trust me, the alternative is worse.

You know how hard it is to not want to play. I haven't played in any games but I have been shooting around and going through my routine. I know I shouldn't be doing it but it's tough. I haven't been trying to drive or jump too high, but I have been working on my post moves.

I think I will take your advice and shut it down till at least Christmas. That sucks man. I gotta rep Brooklyn!!!!

Did you have a cadaver ligament placed in you? They are putting cadaver meniscus in me. Is there anything "strange" about it that you have noticed? (Other than having a dead person's parts in you.)

Best of luck in your recovery,

oohah

I personally would never put a cadavers anything inside my body. I think it's just bad vibes. They say it's better as far as recovery time because there would be no graphing involved but I just don't want to be haunted knowing i have a piece of someone else that died.

I had a graph done and sometimes I wonder if they even repaired the ACL. I still have that annoying crunching feeling and it's still wobbly. There's no hyper extending or anything I'm just ranting. This is a very frustration process.....it wouldn't be as bad if basketball was my job and I had a guaranteed NBA contract.

*sigh*

here's my proposal - fish and panos race on november 2nd at 630pm as part of pre-game festivities for the ultimateknicks opening night gathering for the knicks/celtics season opener.

this just in...vegas betting line...PICK'EM with an over/under at 7 (7 being the number of paramedics it will take to resuscitate both participants)

oohah: I am so disappointed in you. Where is the line by line 1/2 page long reply?

Hey Silverfuel, here is that long post you asked for...
geeze.. that blows. I guess the fact that I only played turf sports made a big difference. I had a couple sold knee sprains playing football in my mid 20s. When I was 23 I got hit by a soccer mom in a minivan on my motorcycle hyperextended the same knee and separated the shoulder. The shoulder injury helped up a quick end to the days of full contact football on sundays. If you have ever known how it feels to have a shoulder dislocated you know where I am at. If you have ever had it happen 3 times you REALLY know where I am at.
Make a long story short about 8 years of baseball, football, skiiing, motorcross and crashing the crotch rocket eventually took its toll. I was playing a co-ed pick up game of slow pitch softball and chasing a ball in the outfield the thing just gave out. Snap. Full tear of the ACL, partial tear of the MCL (one your getting replaced) and a tear of the miniscus. The ACL was replaced with a patella tendon graph. It took about 18 months but I'm back to playing center field. Lateral stability is a concern and I've avoided any hoops or pigskin for this reason.

Good luck... its been 6 years since the surgury for me. I can run, and fast. First step is a bit slow but I'm pretty much the fasted guy I know still at 33.

I guess you usually played on natural grass? Because I always heard that astroturf caused a lot of knee injuries.

Blowing an ACL has to be scary. I think that is what they meant back in the day by "blowing out your knee". I remember when Danny Manning got the cadaver ACL and then returned to pro ball and had a pretty good career (And then he blew the other one and came back again.). From what I have seen since then is all kinds of people seem to come back all-the-way or close to it.

You have to watch out for your meniscus still though because meniscus injuries simply do not heal like other parts of your body. There is virtually no blood supply to the meniscus and you lose the ability to generate new cartilage in mid-adolescence. Unless you tore your meniscus bad enough to nesecitate some type of implant etc., the doctor probably just 'trimmed' (Menisectomy) your meniscus so that it provides an even, stable surface, like when you have a chair with uneven legs. This is a simplification of course.

I shouldn't really dispense medical advice, but here goes, if you still feel unstable enough that you feel wobbly, go see your orthopaedist and insist if you have to, that you have an MRI. Then they can see how much things have changed since your last MRI. Don't let it degenerate too much like I did, I can tell you that.

Good move Dawg, definitely get back on your rehab too.
I personally would never put a cadavers anything inside my body. I think it's just bad vibes.

It is a strange to think about. (Was he/she a serial killer?) I am trying to think of it as a gift, and it is causing me to rethink my position and make myself a doner.
I still have that annoying crunching feeling and it's still wobbly.

I know all about the crunchy, and I don't like it.
Okay, I say 12 and 10. You said 18 and 10, right? So how would this work? I'm not concerned about the boards, it was the points I was really reacting to. If he scores 18 or more a game, I'd say you definitely win, regardless of the boards. If he scores 12 or less, I would think I'd win, again regardless of boards, right? And then if he ends up scoring more than 12 but less than 18 no one wins?

I think we should base it on whomever is closest. If he averages under 15, you win, 15 or over, I do.

Easy money for me. Need I remind you KT led the country in scoring and rebounding as a senior? And his pro stats suggest that it might not be so impossible:

I agree. With Stoudemire and Marion's help on the glass, he will be free to really play his game, a mid-range shooter on offense and a rugged defensive rebounder, unless Stoudemire gets injured or something like that. (Then he might average more points!) The pick and roll with Nash for the J will go to KT plenty because he is one of the better jump shooting PF's in the league, much better than Stoudemire or Marion. When the pick and roll goes to the basket, it will go to Stoudemire or Marion, but they are pretty unselfish (Especially Marion.) so when the double comes at the hoop KT will be a frequent recipient of a pass as well.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

you think there's any way to do it right in bryant park? i don't remember how dense that main area gets.

there's always central park if you don't mind the 20 blocks to get there.

there's dag hammarskjold plaza on 47th and 2nd if you don't mind coming east. there's also a perfect spot on 42 and 1st, an asphalt street hockey rink (if they haven't destoyed it yet for the new trump skyscraper that's going in there).

nothiong else is coming to mind at the moment.
