I would also start TT at 2 guard. I also think our second unit should look like this.

Marbury Nate
TT J Craw
Q Rose
Sweetney Taylor/Lee
JJ Frye
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Marbury/n8
Q-Rich/Crawford
Ariza/David Lee
TT/Frye/Sweets
JJ/Frye/Rose
Marbury is finally home at MSG!

if i coached this team here would be my starting five:

pg: marbury- no brainer

sg: crawford- i still think they need a whole year healthy together ( talking about him and marbury) to mesh. crawford had shown signs of an all- star be he needs to be consistent. i am concerned about the defense but he has the size and quickness to be a great defender with brown's help.

sf: q rich- this is really interesting. i think he would spread the opponent's defense more if he is in. also if you have an athletic 1,2,3,and 4 this could cause nightmares for the opposing team's defense. in my opinion he is the third most talented player on the roster so you have to play him.

pf: tim thomas- here is my philosophy: tim will start to make him happy but sweetney will end games. ti think we need scoring in beginning of games and run the defense ragged and in the second half pound them. tim can play pf and did before. we are sacrificing rebounding and toughness and this will not work against some western conference foes with quick big men but it will with most.

c: jerome james- center by default but he is our anchor on defense. he will man the middle and he is big and mobile enough to have the opposing team think twice about going in the paint. foul trouble is the big problem here because of lack of perimeter defense.but at least we have another big man in frye to spell him.

bench: sweetney, nate rob, houston**, ariza, frye- this should be the core. brown can and will use a 10 man rotation to spell his starters. with this squad you have versatility and quickness. houston will be the eigth man unless he doesn't come back. then slide malik rose in there. mo taylor will be the odd veteran out.

Glad you're not the coach

for me, i want the best talent out there and this lineup is it for now. unfortunately we need to keep tim happy. if he plays well he is trade bait. he has played this position before and is versatile. i think this could work with most teams in the east except detroit and indy. i think it is good against miami because speed is a clear advantage. we will spread the floor and allow marbury to create since NO one will double team with shooters in every corner. offensively, great option. defensively? not good. but the strategy is to be up early and then unleash our good defenders like ariza, rose and nate to grind the other team and tire them out. it looks "nba livish" but i think it is a good strategy.

Sorry, not enuf rebounding with TT at PF.
I'd rather see Rose or Sweets start at PF.
Let TT come off the bench. Let him fight for minutes.
He hasn't proven that he deserves to start.

And if we are going to experiment with Marbs at the 2,
let's just do it. And keep JC at the PG. I'd rather
JC either thrive at PG or sit, then play any minutes at
the 2. Let him concentrate on one position. He's too
stupid to switch modes.

JC/Marbs/Nate
Marbs/Q
Q/TT/Ariza
Rose/Sweets
JJ/Frye

I know you guys believe everything you read in the papers, but Marbs is not going to be a 2.

LB is going to treat him like they do it when they have two distributing, scoring guards.

He's going to let whoever brings the ball over assume the point responsibilities (hence all the combo guards, n8 is a 2 if you ask me with his scoring ability [according to his Lorenzo Romar]), but trust me, Marbs is a PG (and the best in the league btw).

I'm fully convinced, unless Sweets comes in averaging 16/10 from the start, he's gone.

MoT/Rose rotation is money if you ask me with frye at the 5 backing up JJ

this is my 3rd post and 3rd different starting lineup btw

Marbs/Craw/Nate
Q/Craw/
TT/Q/Ariza
Rose/MoT/Lee
JJ/Frye

Craw will see most of the backup minutes at the guard positions (combo guard)

I don't believe all the hype...only questions will be how much love LB gives TT and how much burn Reezy gets at the 3.

(did I just type that last sentence, I'm beginning to type like you guys now...jeez)

Hey nothing personal I just don't see it...

"Shooters at every corner". TT, Craw and Marbury Started together last year and we didn't have great outside shooting we've added a 39% shooter - now we have shooters at every corner?

TT is versatile - he manages to be inconsistent at every facet of the game (well except the two that I think are most important for a PF defense and rebounding - those he pretty much always s-cks at).

TT - stinks like bait, he has as much value as bait - but he ain't trade bait except as an expiring contract. What level of mediocrity he play at won't matter.

Why do you think this teams matches up good against anybody - never mind Miami? James would be too busy with Shaq to provide much help defense - so who gonna do it the undersized SF or the no defense PF?

Outside of playing for lottery postion I really don't think thos starting lineup has any potential.
