I always respected Marbz and I do even more now. Like my Boy Kanye said "Bush doesn't like black people". This should open your eyes and show you that racism still exist. It hurts me to see my people floating around and starving. And for to idiot that said Marbs did it to write off his taxes or that 1.5 million wont hurt him cause he is so rich, go **** your selves. Just watchin that **** gets me upset.

calm down man, donations can be tax write-offs for anyone, doesn't mean the givers mean any less by them. And the post about doing so didn't say Marb did it JUST for tax purposes, just that he can. 2 different things.

Bush don't like most white people either! He's thown the whole country under the bus!

IT hurts to see anyhuman suffer, yet alone anyone in this country!

If the youth vote and minority vote got it together sooner, this clown would not be in office!

ITs criminal what happened!

Yep, Bush hates most citizens of our country and is only out for numero uno...or wait, isn't he a devout religious man who mixes his strong religious convictions with his policy? So I'm confused, is he one or the other or both? Is he insincere about his religious beliefs and loving his neighbor? Because in that case people shouldn't take his religious beliefs seriously since he doesn't--we don't have to worry about how religion influences his beliefs about abortion, gay marriage, and stem cell research because he obviously doesn't take his religion very seriously. I like how anti-Bush people paint the man whichever way is convenient at the time.

Kinda like the way Bush paints his explanation about the Iraq invasion - whichever way is convenient at the time.

Its all about power. The religious thing is the gig of the right wing. Its all about keeping it conservitive!

Funny how recovered alcoholics find a crutch in god AFTER the drinking problem gets out of hand.

Bush himself is twit moron. He owes way too much to his friends and is just a talking head for chaney. He owes the religious right for their support.

As far as compassion, why not be compassionate and be prepared for this kinda disaster!

Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott. Another man I give a lot of respect.
Wal-Mart Commits Additional $15 Million

Following President Bush’s announcement that former Presidents Bush and Clinton will lead a nationwide fundraising effort to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Wal-Mart president and CEO Lee Scott contacted President Clinton and the White House and committed $15 million from Wal-Mart to jump-start the effort.

As part of this commitment, Wal-Mart will establish mini-Wal-Mart stores in areas impacted by the hurricane. Items such as clothing, diapers, baby wipes, food, formula, toothbrushes, bedding and water will be given out free of charge to those with a demonstrated need.

Wal-Mart previously donated $2 million in cash to aid emergency relief efforts and has been collecting contributions at its 3,800 stores and CLUBS, and through its web sites that include: www.walmartfacts.com, www.walmart.com, www.walmartfoundation.org, www.walmartstores.com, www.samsclub.com.

Through its Associate Disaster Relief Fund, the company will also give displaced associates immediate funds for shelter, food, clothing and other necessities.

how does religion make you good? Planes were flown into the twin towers in the name of god. More people have killed in the name of god than any other. The KKK is a religious organization. So is the Taliban. The bible was written by men for men. Last I checked there was supposed to be a separation between church and state here, one of the countries founding principles.

Please... anti-bush people dont have to paint anything... he does that all himself.

If Bush were so religious, he wouldn't have sent so many people to war. Though shall not kill, right? Well, he's killing, whether it's revenge, for oil, to protect us, or to f' around with Iraw. I'm sure it's a little of all. But nonetheless, people are dying in his hands, and I'm sure if he were so religious, he'd have it another way. Am I saying he's an athiest? No. But no matter HOW you look at it, this whole war has become f'ed up. There are STILL suicidal bombings from radical groups that have nothing to do with the Iraqi army, more so isolated terrorists groups or radicals that will ALWAYS be around. Nobody knows WTF Al Quaeda is doing right now. I'm sure there are some in the US right now, yet we concentrating on making Iraq a democracy? How about the tons of other countries who terrorize their citizens and hate the US. There are plenty of them.

The way I see it, Bush should have just continued to monitor Al Quaeda, b/c this war in Iraq is still going nowhere. I just don't see it becoming even remotely close to a stable country.

We have enough problems here anyway, and Katrina just tops it off.

i said it is a tax write off. yes, i said it. i never said it wasnt nice, but marbs probably gives away a mil a year for tax purposes. i was just thinking this morning he will probably spread his donation over two years for tax purposes. his accountant will handle that. I never said it wasnt nice of Marbury to give to the cause. It is very generous.

are you still upset that I said that? go cry in a corner. then grow up.

it's politics. we are all being lied to. unfortunately. people in power are selfish. it's not about the people, it never was and never will be. even communism was a farce.

bad switch from topic. To talk politics go back to the other thread. This one was about Marbury and a great act of charity on his behalf. Its almost 10% of his salary last year. Thats not a drop in the bucket, thats serious stuff. I really admire that.

I admire it too. It's good stuff - people should all be so giving. Marbs is also playing in the Kenny Smith TNT fundraiser on Sept 11th to be aired at 11 PM

Bush isn't in Iraq to please God. God knows it isn't pleasing him anyway. Bush is in Iraq for one or more of the reasons I listed. I just don't think we can be there anymore. The violence there isn't going to stop.

The NFL donation of $1 million matched that of the Yankees. As far as I am concern I am shocked that the NFL only pledged a million. Both that city and league have been good to each other. Coming off a couple of billion dollar deals you would think they could cough up a little more.
