I think Isiah HAS done a good job of spotting talent. He's added a lot of talented young players. I don't care if they're from Europe or the US. I'd be no more excited about Nate, Ariza, Lee, and Frye if they had been born in Europe.

If Lee or Ariza turn into a player of Manu's stature, you can make this statement.
why do they have to turn into Manu? Why can't anyone look at the four players he's drafted and be pleased with Isiah's draft skills regardless of anything about Manu?

wait- who exactly has Isiah drafted for us? Tell me.

Ariza- potentially excellent player- perhaps even a 'superstar'- dare we dream.

Frye - 8th pick, grabbed 2 boards per 48 mins in summer league play inspiring a lot of confidence (exaggeration)

Nate- could be a real game changer- but like many short players in this league, an off the bench super -role player

Lee- a high energy, low skill replacement for Malik Rose/JYD-

If you look at what Isiah has actually drafted for us, not exactly impressive.

Am I missing someone?

And DO NOT go dragging people that he drafted elsewhere- we're talking about how San Antonio is a tremendously well run B Ball operation- how they can use a 30th pick in the first round to draft all star quality players (Manu/Parker) and how that compares with the poor efforts of our Knick organization to ever actual spot talent.

I'd say the best we ever did to drafting low and scoring talent might be Gerald Wilkens in the 2nd round- and that's not saying much- Ewing was a no brainer.
That's wonderful but the simple question was, why do Isiah's draft picks have to turn out to be Manu Ginobili type players?

Why? Because if those picks can't even become "decent" or mediocre players like you labeled Manu, then we're going to be in pretty bad shape, don't you think?
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
