Its his contract year, I can see him do really well this upcoming year. Most, especially Isiah won't buy it and he will not be resigned as a Knick. Play him to get his value up and then trade his contract at the deadline.
IMO it'll go down just like that. The Knicks will benefit all the way through.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year.
GO KNICKS!

u guy's are to hard on tim. I'm not going to speak on his defense becuase 75% of the league plays similar D or worse. But honestly, this guy ( if playing well) is virtually unstopable. His rebounding was suspect for his entire career, so when we got him what did u expexct, 2nd he went through a tough first 2 1/2 months becuase of personal issues. I didn't see nobody calling for Camby's head when he played in the playoffs after his sisters kid napping, and was utterly useless. people have different personalities, and respond differently to tragedy, ( for instance) when Bret farves father died( die hard GB fan) he had the best game of the season 2 days after his fathers suddan death. thowing for like 500 yds and 4 TD's, on a monday night during a crucial time of the season.
I believe TT is going to have a steller season and will probably surprise a lot of people( myself included), but like some said, your not going to get a lot for him either way, so u mind as well keep him.

seemingly, TT's sister's death has effected him for the 7 years prior to last season as well in that case...& i really don't mean to make light of his sister's passing, but the facts are simply that TT has been a gross underachiever his entire NBA career, & there's nothing that suggests he'll ever be anything more than that.

no he isnt. The point was TT's whole career has been an excuse for not living up to his "talent" level, and thats a valid point. Once a week he has a 30 point game, looks great and thats enough to maintain his 15/4.5 average over a season. Last season was obviously tough, but with him its ALWAYS something. Its not just mental toughness he lacks, there is clearly an effort issue, and the man is simply afraid of contact.

You are all wrong....I don't dislike TT as much as I have Kurt. TT in my opinion is just an underachieaver. He is extremely talented, but has yet to put it all together.

The hell with TT. I was hoping for him to have a great year last season, but he disappointed me. Whatever we get from him this season, we get. Trade him for a guy like Gerald Wallace........
uh oh - looks like somebody supplanted kurt on dido's hitlist.
1st - Kurt Thomas Next - Tim Thomas Finally - Isiah Thomas???????
thats backwards. So your OK with TT, a guy with great talent that pisses it away because he doesnt play hard and is afraid of contact, but you cant stant KT??? A guy with limited talent but through hard work has managed to keep himself out of foul trouble, become a top 10 rebounder in the NBA develop one of the better mid range jumpers in the league for PFs?
Give me a break, for a soldier I would have thought you would favor the guy with some heart. If Tim Thomas had Kurt Thomas' heart and balls he would be better than Rasheed Wallace.

I see plenty of reason to believe LB will give tt the contract year of contract years.
Meaning what? He gives him a lot of time? Features him in the offense? Gets him to play at a whole different level?
I don't see it happening. i think TT is nothing but a tease. He and KVH are both fools' gold. The amount of money they both make off of their occassional brilliance and the hopee lhat it will ever amount to consistency is absolutely astounding.
