12/9/2 But he'll make a huge difference that won't show up in stats: intimidating shots--his presence alone will make the other team think twice about trying to get to the hoop.

12/9/2 ??? based on his career I would say that is a huge difference that IS showing up in the stats. Thats almost triple and double his career points and boards.

But when your career stats are so low from playing so few minutes it's not hard to double or triple them.

I am happy if he just does not deficate on himself at the foul line.

That's Aguirre's job to work on that with the bigs.

Man's a freakin' miracle worker.

Knight I hope your right... but look at JJs game logs. Its always been foul trouble that has him riding pine. When you average 3.5 fouls in 17 minutes your going to sit alot.

Look at the centers in the East. JJ is going to be chasing around a lot of quicker PFs playing center. Either that or giving up the open jumper. Larry knows best, but I'm taking a wait and see on this one. Like I said, I hope I'm dead wrong

Bonn I feel sorry for the students who have to deal with you as their TA. You must be one of those anal jerks who are imposible to deal with in the classroom. I always wondered why they let people like you TA, but I guess thats the norm.

Nazzy was averaging 6.5 pts/5.0 rbds/.42 blks before he was traded to the Knicks. Getting paid 5 mil.

Jerome was averaging 4.9/3.0/1.4 and is getting paid 5 mil. But in 2 less mpg. But he's 3 inches and 30 lbs heavier.

In the end they both sucked before they got here, but we needed someone to lean on Shaq 4 times a year. If LB can cut down JJ'
s fouls, we have a good back up center for the next 5 years.

I say 8 pts, 6 rbds, and 2 blocks. And a big fat ass clogging the path to the basket. I say we get John Starks to teach him to clothesline players, a la the 1991 playoffs and Scottie Pippen. Ahhh memories.

the difference between Naz and JJ is Naz had shown in the past if given the minutes he could produce. In 82 games with the Hawks in 01-02 he averaged 10 points, 8 boards in 26 minutes. Thats double what JJ has ever averaged, and this is a whole season, not a nice 4 game run. The problem is since day 1 JJ has never been able to stay out of foul trouble. Until he can he's going to continue to be a 5/4 17 minutes guy.

Not that it's worth replying to, but I'm one of the rare graduate students given the opportunity to teach a course (not merely be a TA) in part because of how well I've done as a TA. If a significant portion were unhappy with me as their TA, I wouldn't have been allowed to teach as a grad student.
I don't know where all your anger toward me and anyone else who disagrees with Briggs comes from.

The centers in the East will have issues guarding JJ, because Brown is a master when it comes to making in-game adjustments. Guys like Germaine Oneal will not be guarded by James, you will probably see a combo of Frye and a taller guy defending centers like Germaine. Now the question is this: who will be guarding JJ???

Does blowing the department "head" help you get the class to teach?

Or those students not wanting to go up against a napolionic Snitmeister in fear they might not get the grade they deserve? Your M.O. seems to be its better to be right, than contribute anything!

Stop asking "why the anger"? you've been posting here for years, you know the gig. Its cuz your Judgemental over anything else you write.

Broaden it out man, you'll be fine!

James is taller than frye. Thats it man! Bruno??

Whos gonna guard JJ? Nobody, they gonna double off him. He'll get some points, but think anyones gonna up the rock to him frequently? And can he last more than 15 min a game?

the secret to keeping JJ from foul trouble is simple....Keep him off any PFs like Garnett or Duncan and have him play help defense instead. When he is playing Shaq or Yao, he can stand up and guard them, but when it is light weight centers like Germaine/Sheed/Duncan and others, let him rove the paint just like Shaq normally does.

JJ can actually average 30 minutes this season if he is used wisely. with our uptempo style, I expect JJ to be extremely effective as the initiator....He is not too slow for a big man, and most of all, he is very agile.
