I'm using Firefox 1.0 on a Mac.

wow, very strange. Without having used a Mac with Firefox to test our site out, I would still have to guess this is more of a Mac/Firefox thing. We don't do anything special with the links. Sorry.

the site is getting many more "knickfan" users... don't really know what to do about it. Avatars are such a beast to manage from an admin perspective: what crosses the line, what doesn't, etc.

Andrew and I will put some thought into it.

Why not create a hate-o-meter rather than an avatar. Under each person's handle, would be a five point scale where someone could declare if they were:


Extremely Unsatisfied - Unsatisfied - Neutral - Satisfied - Extremely Satisfied

I just noticed that when "show all topics" is displayed, you can only access a few pages at a time. This makes flipping thru the archives much more tedious. The old format listing all the pages with clickable links together worked better.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I hear you. We will add searching in the future - hopefully before the season starts, but no sooner - and maybe that will alleviate your problems.

Searching? That should be alot better that the old format. Especially if it's date, keyword or thread headline based.

I'm for avatars. Small and directly under the username is classy (like 80 x 80 pixels)...

Also, I want to resuggest having a reccomendation system where you can rec a post you agree with; with, all the rec's added up and shown by the username. See redhotpawn's forum system... What do you think? Anyone?

I checked out the site and don't "get" what the recommeded posts do for a user. What's the benefit and how does the experience make the site better. Just want to figure it out. thanks.

I have been using the new forums for a bit now and do see that the mechanism we have in place to remember which posts a user has read and not read does not exactly work as I would like. We will fix this so that it works properly. Eventually.

so far so good, no errors encountered with avant, firefox, netscape, or windows. invalid name or password does not erase your post!....this was encountered with previous version.

would it be possible to add spell check to the format

thanks for testing. Interestingly, spell check may not be too hard to check.... it think I found a db will a lot of dictionary words.
