maybe he will teach Crawford to move without the ball like Reggie Miller. Remember when Jamal made that comment after someone on MSG asked him what will he remember most about Reggie and instead of saying how well he moved without the ball like no other he said he was never afraid of taking the big shot. That was right after that game where Crawford took a 3 with a ton of time left on the clock than the other team came back and scored and won the game. That just goes to show his head isn't right but a coach like Larry Brown will fix that mentality.

Listen I like Larry Brown alot but why does everyone just assume that he is this magic worker? I think the media gives Larry Brown the credit for making Chauncey into the player he is but take a look at what Rick Carlisle did for Chauncey the year before Larry got there, his stats went up bigtime, I don't know I think Larry gets waaaaaay to much credit for that. The next guy is Allen Iverson. I know Larry and Allen never got along and Larry got to a finals with Iverson but Larry had no choice, Iverson was one of the best players in the NBA before Larry got there was continued to be one of the best players in the NBA while Larry was there and after he was gone, Larry had no choice to coach him becuase he was that good.

What my point is, everyone is just expecting Larry Brown to come in here and "Fix" these players. There is no doubt in my mind that Larry is going to make some players better, I think the guys that will benefit the most from Larry are the guys who are already intangibles players. By the way this has been Bobs argument the past few days but he's dright. The guys who are going to flourish under Larry are Ariza, Lee, Frye, Nate. Larry Brown has a MAJOR job on his hands right now, between Stephon, Q, Jerome James, Tim Thomas, Larry has to figure out how to get the most out of all these guys whom most people would call primadonas to begin with. Stephon isn't going to be a problem he puts up great numbers and people only question his leadership, that will change and Larry will be the reason for it but to say Larry is going to get Jamal Crawford playing the right way, think is a huge gamble because it hasn't been done before. Crawford was regarded as a knucklehead coming out of Michigan and he has not been able to lose the title yet and its his own fault. I know what I saw from Crawford last year; a flair for the dramatic, extremely streaky, bigtime chucker. To think Larry Brown is going to come in here and be able to Jamal Crawford to play exactly how he wants with all the other players he has to "fix".. I just don't see it happening.

you could be right maybe Jamal doesn't change but give it a chance then we can trade him. You know I'm not a Crawford fan but whats the point of trading him for a low ceiling player like Harrington or a 1st round pick which could be in the 20s and a complete bust. No one thinks Crawford is untradeable. if the right deal comes along like crawford and co for Odom or Nene etc than people would trade him in a second.

I agree.

I would nOt trade Crawford, no way. I like the way Crawford played at the end of the season and if Larry can get him to continue to play that way, he's to valuable to trade. We have Taylor Sweetney Frye Malik etc.. at PF, Al Harrington with his knee problems isnt good enough for Crawford. I like Crawford talent much more, I think Larry Brown will work hard with Crawford and I think Craw should be receptive to some needed discipline in his game. Craw=better talent than harrington IMHO.

Crawford will be fine in the role that suits him best as combo guard off the bench playing backup PG & SG and most importantly providing consistent scoring off the bench. Something we didn't have last year. We had energy guys like JYD and Ariza but none could put the ball in an ocean. It was so sad we were relying on Penny.

You want your 8 1/2 Million Dollar Man coming off the bench for 20-25 minutes?

Talk about economically unsafe...

Oh, and btw, I don't want Crawford EVER playing SG, b/c no matter what, Marbury will end up being paired up with him, and that's a disaster waiting to happen. If Brown can manage to pair Crawford up with Nate and Q more often, I'd be OK with that. I'd feel safer, but I'm still sticking to my story. You can't have Crawford, who NEEDS the ball to be productive, alongside ANOTHER guard that needs the ball. Nate is a PG and needs the ball. Same with Marbury. Q Rich is the only guy I'd feel safe with paired alongside Crawford. You need balance in your offense. And we won't have that with so many players needing the ball at once. It just won't work.

don't need to "prove you wrong".

it's getting to the point where people have stopped reading what you're saying - even if it's a good point or not. i'm not talking about what you're saying, i'm talking about how you're saying it.

that's all. you brought up a valid argument with craw. but calling people names or just responding like everybody else that has a different opinion is wrong, well that's just not right.

the problem we had with Crawford was starting him at SG where he got torched by bigger guys and shoot 39% which is horrific for a SG and none of his strengths complimented Marbury. They are too similar. both guys penetrate and create. Neither is a reliable shooter. Now with Q at SG hopefully we'll be fine with Crawford scoring off the bench as 6th man

I called you a homer b/c I'm making SOLID points along with some other posters, and you don't seem to even be taking it into consideration.

I used to be big on getting Drew Gooden, but I listened to what other guys had to say, and changed my mind about him.

yeah everyone agrees with what you're saying. Marbury and Crawford have no chemistry. Crawford is not a SG but we're not going to trade him for the sake of trading him. If the right deals comes along then we will. Until then lets see what he does with a year in NY under his belt and Larry Brown coaching and so much on the line for Marbury and Isiah.

yet, you consistently propose trades of Zeke's favorite knicks.

Can't you come up with a way of thinning out the PF ranks?

Marbs and Crawford will not be traded.

NEVER.

EVER.

NEVER.

I actually want the Knicks to make the playoffs next year. And by keeping Crawford, I'm not confident at all that's gonna happen. Not enough balls to go around with Nate, Crawford, and Marbury, all players that need the rock to be effective and "do what they do best".

16 - 13 with craw and marbs on the floor.

He doesn't make $8 mill now, I believe it's closer to 5 this coming year. He won't be making that until 07-08 and by then, he should be a solid starter on our team, or something damn close.

Now you're just rambling.

Nice arguement.

Just out of curiosity, when recently have I said I wanted Marbury traded. Since rumors went around that Brown was our man, I immediately knew Marbury was going nowhere, and that Crawford would probably be the odd man out...

yeah I've called Crawford overpaid before but he's not vastly overpaid. not like a Spoon, dampier, TT etc. 5-10mil per season for 7yrs is not that bad. Larry Hughes got what $12mil?

Exactly the reason crawford was brought to new york for in the first place...last year Q was Houston (healthy)

Someone was paying attention and understands Crawford's roll.

The back court and dare I say the 3 is all good.

Transform our 5 PF's into Yao Ming and I'm getting a Dolan Jersey!
