I honestly don't have a clue what you just posted. Your jumbled logical reasoning astounds me. But let me try to make some sense of it.
I never said anything about changing opinion. Just addressing your accusation that I "shift" my arguments.
It's funny. lIke, first you diss dude for taking the shortest player in the draft and then Nate does his thing and all of a sudden the argement shifts to Nate's playing time.
You did understand how I completely proved this false, right? My argument about his PT was mentioned the day after the draft and not after "Nate did his thing" in SL. I didn't "all of a sudden" shift my argument like you accused me of doing. Please apologize and we can move on.
I also never said that the problem with drafting Nate was just his height. I said they took a gamble by drafting the shortest player in the draft, because the one thing they desperately needed to address was size. I would have said the same thing about any PG taken with that pick. He just happened to be the shortest player in the draft. Later on I addressed the problems with his game and height happened to be one of those things. In addition to his not being a very good shooter, not being a pure PG, being more of a SG than a PG and his liabilities in halfcourt defense because of his height.
Who ever said that being a bust is the same as being a sparkplug? I sure know that it wasn't me. In fact I never used the word bust when discussing Nate. In fact I've been preaching that these guys need to prove themselves before we declare them to be busts or solid NBA players if not more like some people here are making him out to be. That of course has nothing to do with a players role which is what I was talking about.
Of course Van Gundy has a say about Swift's role. He's obviously being signed to be the starting PF but if Van Gundy is unhappy with him for any reason you can bet that he'll be sitting on the bench. That has everything to do with the head coach who sets roles and hands out playing time. Well maybe not Isiah's head coaches since he admits to dictating playing time for young players even in the last month of a season.
What were you talking about with the different coaching situations? In the past Isiah has dictated playing time instead of the head coach deciding and has even taken an active role in practice. With LB it will be a totally different situation because of LB's stature in the game. Isiah won't be able to tell LB how to coach the team. Is that really difficult to understand?
When you reply, please try to be a little clearer. Thanks in advance.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
