Well, personally i like the idea of cap relief and playing ARIZA, Q, NATE & MARBS !!!! Four players to play 2 positions ! Plenty
Isiah Thomas will lead us back to the playoffs in 2006 !!!

Finley would be the 2nd best swingman on the team behind Q. If he wants to sign here for the league min, great. He'd have no reason to unless he really loves the city of NY.

Get talent then worry about players earning their PT. No one said the Mavs were killing their youth movement when they got Stackhouse even though they had Josh Howard and Marquis Daniels at the same position. Get talented players (especially for a low price because they'll be more tradeable) and the minutes will workout.

or replace Q and play with the Suns and his buddy Nash and compete for a title.

Seriously... do people think about these things before posting?

So is Finley replacing Marion or Joe Johnson? Seriously...do people think about these things before posting?

The funniest post of the day...

So you want Finley to start at SF.

SF - Finley, Ariza, TT, JYD, Lee?????

How many of them do you want? WTF?

JYD as a viable SF? NO. Trade TT for anything, have Finley start with Lee and Ariza coming off the bench--pretty hard to figure out. Fishmike forgot Q WAS the starter and NOW JJ is the probable starter who Finley would have to replace...and he wouldn't.

Finley could go to the rockets and play with Mcgrady. They have a million sgs but he would fit in there style of play

Q was a starter, so was Marion, and so was JJ.

If Finely goes to Suns, he will be replacing either Q who left already, or JJ who might bolt for a max deal with the Hawks.

End of story. This is gettin retarded.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

bringing in finley is just perpetuating the same crap we always have been doing, bringing in vet players to help NOW as opposed to developing players that will help for a long time.
NO I disagree. Bringing Finley is the same thing we have always been doing, bringing in good players who are waaaaay past their primes. Dallas would have beaten phoenix if Finley was his old self in the playoffs. He was a once good player who is pretty much washed up right now.

Why is this thread 4 pages long? We need a big man who can block, rebound , play tough D, or draw double teams in the post. Finley is none of that, I really don't see how this is even a discussion. There is nothing to talk about.

why are we still talking about finley again?

there's no match here. he doesn't play defense. he's on the downside of his career. and we have enough scoring.

let's move on...

If you don't like the thread don't participate, it's a legitimate conversation about whether Finley would help the Knicks.

sure he would help the Knicks. So would Dalembert, Curry, Chandler and some other "available" players. They all have about the same chance of coming here.

Another thing to consider, besides the fact that we don't need him, is that Finely is still productive enough to command more than the minimum from an under the cap team or a team that hasn't used its MLE yet. He could get 3-4 million/yr. in addition to the $18 from dallas.
