Guns, here's something JUST for you:

http://www.nba.com/celtics/news/summerleague_sked.html

It shows that at the tender age of 18 Kwame Brown scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 3 BLOCKS in 2001's summer league.

Another game he put up similar numbers. So if you're so intent on making these summer league games a vehichle for you to say "I told you so" I'm going to keep asking you "Told us what?" lol.

Just a tid bit of info I though you might want to know because we all know that Kwame turned the league upside down in his 4 years in the league.

good because I would take Kwame over Frye too

Point is, did Kwame end up to be THE NEXT AMARE, O'NEAL, T MAC? I'd say...hmmmm....NO! And this cat put up waaaay better numbers than Bynum in the summer league at a few months older.

no but he could except he's not motivated too. What makes you think Bynum has the same attitude?

I never said he did. You see, anyone here who thinking logically knows that Frye could be a special player and also Bynum could be. Logical thinking people also know that Frye could but sub par and so could Bynum. You on the other hand speak of this man as though he's going to be the next big thing. You speak of him in good terms ONLY. You speak of Frye in negative terms ONLY. This is obviously not at all rational. This is why it wasn't smart to try and bring up highschool allstars and try to compare them to serviceable and busts of big men.

Kwame tore the summer league up. Played WAY better than Bynum. But you're using Bynum's average stats to say "I told you so". You say he's only 17. Point is, Kwame was a few months older and if Bynum was in his path he would have practiced total domination on him in that summer league roughly at the same age. You have put blinders on to that fact that Bynum is a high risk draft pick who could much easier go the serviceable or bust route than your fantacy...him being Amare. Nonsense! What makes YOU so sure that he won't be Kwame. After all, you haven't even seen the guy play lol.

Wrong. I've said many times that Frye is a good scorer but we need more. more rebounding and inside scoring specifically. I don't see Grye ever giving us that

Hey I've got an idea, lets all make crazy predictions about players and who's better than the other based on summer league stats. Because we all know summer league stats transfer to the NBA very well.

Ok, come on everybody!

EXACTLY!!!! This is what everyone is trying to show you!

All summer league says is "potential". That's it. On the other hand you're trying to use the summer league stats to say 'I told you so' which is ridiculous. And to show you how ridiculous that is I was just showing you how the 5 time allstar and future hall of famer Kwame Brown measured up in summer league play.

guys who do well in summerleague and become busts in the nba have motivational and mental problems. I doubt Bynum will playing for a francise like the Laker & Phil & Kobe

Gunsewing,

you are one of the main people that come in here preaching about the importance of an inside player going to the charity stripe.

okay, so Frye goes and is perfect but then you come back with a "Jason Collins is a good FT shooter too"

but guess what, Channing Frye and Jason Collins were born on different days.

stop playing mind games with yourself, Guns.
it's not cute

I never mentioned players going to the line. Shaq isn't a good FT shooter but he does rather fine. I preach the need for a guy who scores inside because if you look at championship contenders they have guys who score inside. Spurs, Lakers, Miami, Houston, Detroit exceptonly Jordan and the Bulls.

who could the Knicks have gotten at 8 that scores inside? don't free throws count as points

BYNUM WAS FAT!!!!!!!! He got skinny at the last minute in order to get drafted and get a contract. How much more info do you need to know about how consistant a person's motivation is? You need him to blow up to 400 pounds b4 you will admit that he's going to have battles with his weight throughout his career? It's written on the wall.

You're fat one month and then all of a sudden you lose the weight right around time for you to get drafted? hmmmmm

WHEN IN GOD'S NAME HAVE YOU SEEN HIM PLAY YO KNOW HE SCORED INSIDE??? LOL

Those could have been off of a player's missed shot and if that counts so does Fyre's 10 for 10 from the line based on the work he himself did inside to get positioning and 'cause the other team's big man to put him at the line.

and Frye bulked up last minute. whats the point. it would be easier for Frye to lose that added muscle the the slim Bynum to ballon to 325 again

Come come now. Frye displayed discipline his entire college career. He worked on all facits of his game. He knew he had to get stronger on the next level.

BYNUM WAS A FAT BOY ALLLLLLLL THROUGHOUT HIGHSCHOOL. When does the red flag come up? lol You cannot compare a disciplined player putting on muscle to a kid saying "I will not make it in the NBA because I am fat. Hey man, can you help me to not be fat anymore?"

I think both you and thelonius are going to far now.

lifting almost 200 pounds isn't just adding bulk "at the last moment" and you know it Guns,

I, personally, think neither Frye nor Bynum aren't anything special--Just serviceable players.

Phil Jackson may get more out of Bynum tho

I agree that they will both be serviceable. But I'm just here adding balance. It's not fair to ONLY talk about a players "best case scenario" another's "worse case scenario" every single day. So whenever I hear someone say that Bynum's automatically the next Amare or O'Neal or Kobe or whoever else I must also add the flip side to that. I have already gone on record as saying that I believe that Frye will be a very good player based on what I have seen from him and I've seen him play a bunch of times. But how can one say "I told you so" about a summer league game that means nothing? It doesn't make sense so I am here to create balance.

let's let both players develop. there is no reason at this point to compare the two. I think they are much different players in much different situations. Tex Winters and Phil Jackson made the final call on Bynum and Isiah made the final call on Frye. Both teams have good evaluators. I think one player is defintely a 5 who will be on a 3 year plan and the other is a 4 who was drafted to perform RIGHT now.

I listen to people who say Bynum will be a bust at 17 years old, or this and that and I laugh, I man the kid's doctor said he isnt even done growing yet--how could anyone know what he will eventually be pro or con at this point? My OPINION and its a strong one is that he will be very good to great based on what i saw and projecting out. But who knows? He's off to a fine start considering he only played 24 gams total in HS and graduated a year earlier than his other classmates.

The only thing we don't know is whether Jackson would have taken Frye over Bynum if he had had the opportunity. At least according to some media reports out of LA, he would have.

Briggs, I'm not saying he's going to be a bust. I'm just saying that he can go either way. That's all I'm saying.
