Why not just trade away the whole team for a chance at OJ Mayo?

I looked at the cash#s really hard and I really believe the ONLY real trade out there is Marbury for Francis. I dont see ANY other team wanting Marbury at his cost, I mean he makes more than KG!

In case you haven't noticed, he happens to be a fairly good player. he could put Dallas and many other teams into championship contention, which would be well-worth his salary.

What has Crawford done to earn placement on this list? I'd trade him for a good, young player at any position

Marbury for Steve Francis and an Orlando 2007 # 1 pick. They want him out, he plays better in run and gun, and we get a pick. forget what is fair, thats the only trade i see, personally i would do it.

YUCK! I like Marbury's game and attitude MUCH more than Francis's. The draft pick isn't enough to make up for the difference.

Why would you ever do Marbury for Francis? Francis is an inferior passer and shooter, and his physique and age are about the same. That's what you call a lateral move, and a bad one at that. No way. I'd do the Harrington deal before I touched that one.

See, I dont think there are ANY deals for Marbury. No harrington deal, of course no dalembart deal, but if this team wants a clean slate and wants to open up the offense more, francis is a better option. He 's only played 6 years in th NBA compared to Marbs 9 which is a lot, and hes a bigger better athlete capable of much better rebounding. Lets face it Marbury for Francis and a number 1 is as close to fair value as you can dream of. THE ONLy reason why i see orlando even cotemplating this is the same number if years on the contract.

only the Dalembert scenario is even remotly acceptable IMO. There you come away with a big man with great upside.

Moving him for Harrington or Francis is just bad business. Bonn was right. All he's done is had a career year, played his ass off and formed a personal relationship with the GM. Hard to picture him getting dumped at this point.

Right now he's the scorer and playmaker that can take all the pressure of these young guys.

The Dalembert trade is doable. A SL of Nate/Q/Ariza/Frye/Dalembert with a bench of Crawford/Sweetney/Lee/JYD/Rose/Mo T is a great job of rebuilding.

clean slate? Why are we trying to wipe the slate clean of a 28 year old player coming off a 22/8 season who fills a need?

Its interesting how many of you would be willing to trade Marbury for Dalembert but when I proposed the Penny + 8 for Mash and Dalembert, everyone was like thats too much and yadda yadda ya. Marbs for Dalembert and filler is pretty ridiculous to me. My trade of an expiring contract and a pick made much more sense, but some of you all have an illogical attachment to the draft.

I think either trade is too much to give up for Dalembert, but the Penny plus #8 (Frye) would be less bad in my opinion. Dalembert's nothing but a lot of potential since he's only played impressively for about 2 months of his entire career. He blocks a lot of shots, but I'd have mixed impressions about his D (particularly man-to-man D in the low post).

Because in six years, he will be past his prime and that is when the Knicks will be good and contending.

Denver, Houston, Dallas, would all be contenders if they had Marbury. Denver and dallas especially, they both have a lot pieces they could use to get him and still be good.

thanks... sorry but a 6 year plan? Our plan has changed twice in 18 months. Lets be realistic. Marbury has 5 years left playing at his current level, and there is no reason not to reduce his minutes now anyway from his 40+ to 35. Its a big difference over the course of a year.

I think it will take FAR fewer than six years. The team is already improved from last year and still has the MLE and $30 mil in expiring contracts to work with. Next year the team has 2 1st rd picks and far more expiring contracts (and obviously the MLE) to work with. I could easily see the team being very good in seasons. Plus the 8 talented players 25 and under on the team should be quiet improved by then.
