Briggs.. you just added 4 super athletic young guys with skills and hops. Lets see what Steph can or cannot do with this kind of group.

hops smops, if your play is not based around defense and rebounding, you might as well trade everyone and lose 82 games, better to sck horribly that be stuck in the middle.

having marbury as your main franchise player will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER work

right now we are a finese team. we added a little beef at the Gs spots, but ultimately Craw and steph will still be getting huge minutes and its very possible we are worse defensively in the frontcourt with less rebounding. Getting rid of KT was the samrt move no matter the outcome of W-L, but the pressure is ON FRYE to play at the level that Isiah perceives him to, which is not likely:>(

I agree and I have been saying that the combo of Marbury and Craw does not work. I think Marbury has to have a great big man to be successful (like KG or Amare) - a post-player who commands double team, who can block shots and help Marbs with his lack of defense. Too bad he got traded away from good situations in Minny and Pheonix.

I think the knock on Marbs is that he is given a max contract. He is a great player, but he cannot carry and lead a team on his back somehow. I think it's his personality and lack of leadership that gets in the way. Whatever the reason, he is not a franchise player (meaning all-star talent with heart and leadership, a winner). If his contract was smaller as in $8-10mm range instead of $15-20mm, he'd be one of the players most sought after in the league.

Given his resume/salary, I agree that only a handful of teams would be interested in him. I see Dallas as having the best chance, but what about Minny?

They totally underachieved last season thanks to Spree and Cassell's distractions, and KG is not getting younger. I think the owner and the management must think that their window to winning the championship is starting to get smaller and smaller and that they have to improve the team NOW to have a real shot at the title in the next 2-3 yrs.

Would they be interested in re-acquiring Marbs to play alongside KG again? I wonder what deals would make sense for both teams.

Marbs = Wally + McCants + unprotected future #1
Marbs = Wally + Cassell + unprotected future #1
Marbs = Wally + Kandi + unprotected future #1
Marbs = Spree(3yr@$16mm) + Cassell + unprotected future #1
Marbs = Spree + Kandi + unprotected future #1
Marbs = Spree + Kandi + Ebi
Marbs = Kandi + Cassell + Ebi

I think deals involving Spree is unlikely given his history with NY.

Thoughts?
