I see the vision with our 2 picks. Did we have any more picks outside of the Vandy guy and the guy from Berlin? I kind of ignored the draft until all our trades were done.

Ok so do the cash considerations (which we seem hypnotized by) actually help w cap? Otherwise why trade UG. Get him to SL and then Decide after

Brock earned his salary in 24 hours. Made $5M in cash considerations swapping picks

Two players drafted,
Nickel who may compete for shooting specialist off the bench
and
Germany Jack who is a developmental pick

No bigs selected, so deal for Mitch seems likely.

The rest of the hired guns remains to be seen.

Even some pipeline players may not be back like Kevin or Huk.

10 Players under Contract:

Brunson
OG
Bridges
KAT
Hart
Deuce
Mo
Kolek
Dadiet
Alvarado (Player Option)

so there's still lots of decisions to be made and 8 more slots to fill

Seems like it was Houston then went to the Clippers

Officially no, but maybe Rose and Dolan agreed that Dolan will pay up to the second apron and then will go over it in an amount equal to cash that comes back. Not a great deal because of the tax But it could give the Knicks just enough breathing room.

You heard it here first - 6'5 PG Jack Kayil is going to be a LOTTERY pick in the 2027 NBA Draft!! The Gonzaga commit has been extremely impressive for Alba Berlin this season against very strong German Bundesliga competition, averaging:

• 12.4 PPG
• 2.6 RPG
• 3.7 APG
• 39.5% 3PT (5.1 3PA/G)

For context, last year in the same league Ben Saraf averaged 11.5/3.0/3.9 on 31.5% 3PT (although he was also a year and a half younger at the time). Kayil is a strong, athletic, powerful guard who can score at all three levels and create off the dribble for himself and his teammates at an elite rate.

The film speaks for itself - Kayil is going to be one of the best players in the new Pac 12 from the jump!!

So the trade with the Lakers was just to buy more time while we worked the phones? Maybe we were going to draft Zuby at 24

Right? It's so confusing to me especially because of the cash considerations LA is now hard capped at the second apron. Was this just a sneaky way by LA of getting Lebron to sign for less or go somewhere else?

Makes me wonder if the Knicks saw some kind of swagger in this kid where they thought he could be a killer off the bench.

Country boy voice, but the villain stuff is what you want from a fearless lights out shooter. That's a Donte vibe

Draft: 2026 NBA Draft, No. 39 pick, New York Knicks Bleacher Report

Scouting Notes:

Strengths: Playmaking (29.4% assist rate), confident perimeter shooting (35.4% 3PT), maturity, good court vision Bleacher Report+1

Weaknesses: Lacks elite speed/explosiveness, struggles to finish around big defenders, ceiling as a role player Bleacher Report+1

Realistic Pro Comparison: Cason Wallace — well-rounded combo guard with shooting and playmaking Bleacher Report+1

NBA Comparison: Andrew Nembhard, Jalen Suggs, Jrue Holiday, Tony Wroten
Playing Style
Kayil is a versatile combo guard who can operate on and off the ball. He excels at:

Playmaking: Heavy pick-and-roll handler with controlled pacing and accurate passing Bleacher Report

Shooting: Confident from catch-and-shoot and off the dribble, with clean mechanics NBADraft.net

Defense: Anticipation, lateral quickness, and physicality NBA
Outlook
Kayil’s combination of shooting, playmaking, and maturity makes him a late-first/early-second-round fit in the NBA. His development in contact and finishing will be key to maximizing his potential NBA.

Nice summary. Tony wroten?!?

I feel like this is almost an "Alba at the playoffs" type event. Sometimes the Matrix just tosses the UKfanpage a bone.

so basically we just drafted him a year earlier than we'll play him like the Celtics did with Larry Bird. Cool!
