But I know many of you hate Mikal, so swapping him for JJJ would change our positional size. It makes a Herb Jones swap for Mitch that much easier. Then you just have to teach Brunson and KAT defense.

Brunson
Jones
OG
JJJ
KAT

I think it's more likely that MEM wants to use the asset haul to retool around Ja and JJJ than it is them wanting to blow it all up. They can make a power move now. JJJ would cost way more than Mikal also and based on reporting Herb Jones would cost way more than Mitch.

I agree with this. I think they have determined you can’t build around morant, JJJ and bane with the amount of the salary cap they take up, so bane had to go. This is a trade that is a fallout of the new rules.

I'm the crazy one that would have traded Morant if I were Memphis.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Would I be right to say that since trades can't be official yet that they can alter that trade to include 3 teams and add players to the deal?

Jaren Jackson Jr makes a TON of sense for the Knicks and I think the Knicks do covet him. Biggest issue with him is rebounding, but with Thibs gone, I think its a lesser issue. He's almost the perfect 4 to slot with KAT because of his shotblocking and shooting versatility.

Supposedly the Grizz were hot on Bridges last offseason and were hot on Anunoby before, but we Wing Stopped it before they could.

That said I don't know where the Grizz are going now. By getting KCP and Cole they got useful pieces for a playoff team and still have talent and by moving Bane they cleared future apron space to accomodate JJJ extension.

Moving JJJ now would be more indicative of a tear down, so does acquiring Bridges make sense in that scenario?

If we had to choose between OG and Mikal I'm taking Mikal. He plays every game and has more of an offensive game. Not to mention the Nova connection.

But if MEM is trading everyone then I'm not sure they'd want players back as much as picks.

If they wanted to do OG and Mitch for JJJ I'd be all over it though and would probably add that WSH pick.

I also keep saying Deuce for DDV back makes sense as well.

KAT
JJJ
Mikal
DDV
Brunson

Hart as the 6th man but leaves us even thinner.

I would rather do some type of deal with KAT going out for JJJ and filler as we need more players/depth. JJJ can shoot well enough from outside and he can defend and rim protect. I really think any type of 2 for 1 type trade is the opposite of what we should be looking at...unless it's for Giannis.

You put JJJ next to KAT you still have to either sit KAT for defensive purposes or watch him get exposed as he is the weak defensive link.

Open to JJJ but not parting with OG, Mitch unless we land a true star that plays both sides of the ball

If we stick with just 2 way players around Brunson we can get by...

OG, Mitch, and the WAS 1st is probably the bare minimum it would take to get JJJ.

Mark Stein mentioning that Memphis has had interest in OG, Mikal and Franz Vagner in the past.

Interesting.🤨

I don't know JJJ's game well enough. But for real?

I would not touch that type of trade at all. Too much going out, by far, for me.

2 players and prime 2nd round picks at worse, for a player where you need to negotiate a new contract for. JJJ is a player that is more injury prone and has played a TON less minutes than OG and is foul prone just like KAT (but obviously for different reasons). He is a great compliment to KAT in theory but wow, 2 players and 2 cost controlled contracts is a lot.
