Or their last coach was supremely inept. Remember how good Fizdale mad Mike Miller look?

I think it’s a mix of this and also a young team leveling up as they enjoy the challenges ahead. You can see this ATL team growing closer and leveling up to the challenges with that underdog mentality. They believe in Trae but know that they are more than him. He does too, so he keeps the team together. It’s a really good story for them.

Dallas had a sting conviction on luka and got their guy. Atl might have not seen it the same way and both “won”. Can’t reverse engineer the deals. It happens with frequently of opportunities. We laughed at Atl not getting anywhere for years to justify starphucks. We got lucky with Randle and jr is a blue chipper. We know what we need. It’s getting it that is not easy!

You very often get these deep unheralded Cinderella runs, where a young team with no pressure of expectations plays looser and more confident than the competition which actually helps it succeed, where the opposition is mentally held back by self doubt. Kinda like the Knicks' "rebellious slaves" team in 1999, which was fun while it lasted, but proved too difficult to repeat and then completely crashed and burned in two years.

Fizdale is the worst basketball coach I have ever seen

Surprised how much he's making from Pacers

Kidd comment seemed odd.

I actually think he was being genuine. Kidd was a big reason Carlisle won that championship in 2011. They probably still have a good relationship

Trae again showing the best way to defend him is to give him the 3pt shot. He is 1 - 7 tonight and 30% on the post season. He is more dangerous after PNR you have to play off him to give you enough space to not allow him to drive by you but not enough space for him to get a wide open shot. If you can give him the threat of a contest that is good enough.

Agreed. You need to take away something. Those long bombs when missed lead to long rebounds and breakouts which their guards can’t defend. It also somewhat neutralizes cappella strength on offensive rebounding

Now if he hits those you have a tough decision on whether to let him keep shooting or not.

Also I think he irritates his teammates if he takes too many

Someone needs to write a rap song about Ayton.

Wonder if we hire him as Woody's replacement, I remember the Knicks praised him and a couple of other candidates after we finished our head coach interviews

These Suns are really appealing: play the right way, confident skilled players. Ayton positively looking more and more like the Admiral. Booker looking like a West or a Clyde Frazier.

To me these are some of the best playoffs in history, and whoever is crowned as the champion would really deserve genuine admiration and respect. These are azzhole-free conference finals.

injuries played a huge role this postseason. suns are a nice team but no way they should be in wcf. but luck plays a huge part in things and the injuries were the suns luck.

paul george had a huge opportunity to change the narrative about him once kawhi went down but he couldn't right the ship.

Then you also put a large asterisk next to the Knicks' 1999 finals run in the lockout-shortened season.

That Chris Paul is still playing matters. When he got hurt in CLipperland and Houston the team suffered big.

i wouldn't go that far.

last year involved a unique situation in the bubble. comparing that to any other nba season doesn't really work.

this season you had most of the season in empty gyms and one team in tampa. again, completely different from every other season.

i think both covid effected seasons are unique and live on their own. a strike shortened season really is just fewer games but everything else is the same.

Wiggins for KP? McCollum for KP?
