Who the f is that?

High skilled defensive PF for Orlando that has had impossibilities staying healthy. 52 games last season were a substantial high in the last 5. Though his larger recovery seems to be over, he lost the last two months of the season to a sprained knee.

He will get picked up by a contending team willing to bet on his health.

The comment above on the locker room fit is well taken, though I’m not sure how relevant that really is. I’d certainly be offering him a minimum contract - though I could see a waiver claim catching him before he makes it to free agency.

You know I gonna spin wit it

I'm gonna do whatever I can to keep him." We would all have felt more comfortable.

If Dolan had said "Whatever Leon wants to do", I would've felt more comfortable.

If Dolan had kept his mouth shut as he has for years now I'd be more comfortable!

.....Let mitch find his value and then see if its all worth it to him. What team has money and the lifestyle he seeks? Fact is players get traded all the time so its not like he can demand a no trade clause. He is not going to get a huge raise nor a long term deal I'd guess no more than 3 years. Anyone worried he signs and he falls back as he was "Contract year Mitch"?
Money matters, but perhaps what does his shrink suggest? Time for a change? Or call your buddy Jules and ask him how happy he is on the move?
It was not until iHarts seconds season AND mitch getting hurt did he rise up and grab his spot.
Mitch was also making silly picks, was a foul machine, and whining about his offensive touches. For all we know knicks behind the shroud of secrecy might be all fine with letting him walk no matter what is being said.

On other subjects:

Who has more upside: Kolek or Dadiet?
If Tyler is note slotted for a rotatlial role, if Im his agent i got to get him out of there and on a team that could. Get him back to Wisconsin and some minutes!
Dadiet? Can he fill the role Clarkson did? Not saying it starts off great but can he break thru with 10 minutes and hit that shot? If so, his moves to the rim will open up. Some one wrote he was 6-9. We talking small forward or a big 2. Which then one has to consider Deuce and his role? Which brings us to Shamet. A fan favorite and great story! Love him for a two year deal. This kid goes full speed and gets hurt unfortunately. Im now the fence with him because of this.

Speaking of Mitch and FO, one thing not being discussed is the broken pinky.
What stupid thing did Mitch do going into the NBA FINALS and how pissed off was the FO?

Front office had to be out of their minds. And Dolan too. Maybe Dolan said the second apron thing knowing this impacts Mitch most directly. You never know.

I am wondering if the plan for center is to have a little more depth in place of the higher end talent with Mitch. This season, we got a very healthy Mitch season. But despite that, still 22 games were we had to rely on Hukporti who wasn’t good. If we sign 2 solid centers, let’s say Looney and Richards for example, not great but still better than Hukporti, then there isn’t that huge drop off when KAT and/ or Mitch didn’t play. I’m not saying Hukporti isn’t worth keeping. Ideally I’d keep him as a 2-way player, but still consider him as a 4th center. I just think we need 2 better backup centers on the roster. Even if one of them is a 4/5 hybrid like Achiuwa. We need 82 games of solid backup center play.

I tried to rack my brain to understand why we would want Kevon looney over other bigs with higher potential and I think its bc:

hes good at screening.

Because coach Brown was on GSW bench same time Looney was playing there, so it's a known known.

I think it could also be that they plan on Hukporti being the primary backup.

if thats the case, I don't mind it at all.

Screening, passing, offensive rebounding, winning pedigree.

vs SAS there is a small detail that gets lost which is:

wemby is a bad screener in single high actions. our defenders were able to consistently fight over his screens because he's not a big body.

their only way to shed our POA defender was to do their double drag set.

I can totally see them picking looney over Richards or whoever else could be available for that reason. its more about maximizing brunson/mikal than it is about getting the "better center"

If that’s the case, they better be sure he’s going to make a big jump, because he just wasn’t very good in his second year after looking really good as a rookie.

The Athletic’s James Edwards III reports that the Knicks and Landry Shamet have agreed to a four-year deal worth $24 million.
While there were reports that multiple teams had interest in offering Shamet a deal when free agency opens on Tuesday night, he’s decided to remain in New York. He’ll receive an average of $6 million per year, which leaves the front office some room to work with as they look to follow owner James Dolan’s directive to avoid the second apron. Shamet was not a consistently impactful fantasy option, but he came up big for the Knicks when they needed him most, including shooting 11-of-12 from three in the Eastern Conference Finals. - Raphielle Johnson

agreed not sure where that suggestion came from. He was a wilting flower with the Sixers and we want players who are fighters and ascending. if he were smart he'd stay with the pistons who have found a role for him

Trade Duece for Kalkbrenner at this point and call it a day. Sad to lose Mitch but we probably got his best years.
