That was a legendary speech!

Got to give Dolan his flowers. I never ever EVER thought we'd ever see him hoisting the Larry O trophy! I still cannot believe it actually happened! And for Dolan to pretty much guarantee a championship in January and have it come true is just crazy to me. This championship goes a long way in healing the soul and the pain of the past but it doesn't erase it. It happened and we went through it. But I'm happy Dolan was able to redeem himself in the ultimate way and make our dreams come true.

Anyone know if they still make official championship DVD/Blu Ray collections? Google is suggesting no, but I don't want to miss out just due to a bad AI prompt.

I must be naive, I thought this was like a standard thing each year across sports - still occasionally bust out my 08 Giants set when I'm feeling nostalgic.

I'd look for the 2025 OKC version and see who produces it if it is in fact still such a thing?

Yeah, good call. As far as I can see, looks like NBA no longer produces the physical media, but supposedly air some of the more candid coverage on NBA TV sometime down the road. Not clear if it's anything beyond the Chasing History series on YouTube.

Underrated play of this game was Hukporti's block on Kornet. Big time play from the young fella!

IMO, there hasn't been nearly enough discussion about how historically dominant the Knicks' defense was during this championship run.

For context, Defensive Rating measures points allowed per 100 possessions. Because NBA offensive efficiency has risen dramatically over time (league average Offensive Rating was 115.7 this season compared to 102.2 when the Knicks and Spurs met in the 1999 Finals), the best way to compare defenses across eras is relative to the league scoring environment of their season.

During the 2026 playoffs, the Knicks averaged a Defensive Rating of 105.0 per game: +10.7 points per 100 possessions better than the NBA's 115.7 league average Offensive Rating.

Going back to the introduction of the 3-point line in 1979-80, the Knicks' playoff Defensive Rating was 10.7 points per 100 possessions better than league average offense, the 2nd best mark by an NBA champion, trailing only the 2004 Pistons.

Top 5:

2004 DET +11.2
2026 NYK +10.7
1999 SAS +8.0
1996 CHI +7.9
2025 OKC +6.4

Kudos to Knicks defensive coordinator Brendan O'Connor for orchestrating one of the greatest playoff defenses in NBA history.

And while every Knicks player deserves credit, I want to give a special shoutout to Karl-Anthony Towns. Long criticized for his defense, KAT elevelated that side of his game throughout the playoffs and played a key role in a championship defense that many pundits -- and even his former team -- thought was impossible with him at center.

By far the biggest thing that made me so confident in Mike Brown was his ability to seemingly out of nowhere turn Towns into a plus defender, where it seemed in the year prior all we heard was "Towns drop coverage" and had teams walloping on him every night on switches. I believe he had the all time worse rim protection % the year before as well.

Does anyone think that Bridges nod to Dadiet could have been similar to his nod to Landry last year? He sees a guy being underutilized on the bench who can help?

It would be pretty awesome if Dadiet balls out next year. No reason to count him out now.

💯....remember last year when word on the street was the Knicks could never be an elite defensive team with Brunson and Kat sharing the defensive side of the court?
