+1

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I believe quite a few posters reffered to him as "Chump"
I always like Iman and thought his injury, Woodson and his lack of system, lack of quality development coaches, and lack of players that actually played DEFENSE together with him/in an uptempo system too

When Iman played his best ball as a rookie prior to the injury and we obviously missed leadership to go with defensive talent to fit his strenghts/skill set

Lin
Iman
Fields/Bill Walker
JJ/Novak
Tyson Chandler

Didn't Woodson take over and led that team to a 18-6 record?

I don't miss shump because he is really the same player in Cleveland as he was in NY. He is always up and down. The second to last month of his sophomore year Shump had an awesome run. He had a nice short run earlier this year too. Shump is still a below average player having a great 5 game run.

Dude is an above average defensive player..Those don't grow on trees..NY fans and media always have unrealistic expectations for their young players and when they don't meet those expectations, they want them gone..Shump could be a nice role player off the bench who can D up on your best offensive player in a big spot..

his defense comes and goes too. I like his on ball defense but he stayed getting back door'd and would die on screens constantly. He would also get in foul trouble for his overaggressive. Under 5m Shump is a nice role player at times but an inconsistent shooting defender can be found in the d-league or as an fa.(briggs stop hacking my pc.) j/k

If role players weren't inconsistent they would be stars..

Shane Battier was one the most consistent players in the NBA and he was no star. Same can be said for Tony Allen. Shump needs to find that focus to bring it every night.

You can't compare guys who has something to play for versus a franchise in turmoil..We had a coach win 54 games and he was undercut in December of the next season..

Not really but I understand what you are trying to say. A good role player to me is someone I can trust over time. Every player has a slump here or there but 2-3 month/season long slumps are not good and that's on Shumps resume. Will he turn it around? I hope he can for his sake but right now all I can go on is what I have seen from Shump over multiple seasons.

You are not going to have a good role player unless you have a team for him to play that role..Case and point JR Smith..He had a role on the 54 win team..He didn't have a role in this year's team because we didn't have a team per se..He went to Cleveland and found a role..a role player isn't going to be a good role player when all around him is sheet..

JCraw wasn't good here but good on LA..Look at Ariza who later came into his own..

There is a reason those players are journeymen too. I also think all those players are better overall than shump is. Regarding Smith: look how much his numbers jumped up and then look how Shump is nearly the same. They both decrease their 2pt attempts and increased their 3pt attempts. Since Smith is an actual good shooter and became a slightly better thief his efficiency looks good and his WS increased dramatically.

JR went back to Denver JR, something I thought the triangle would do and what I predicted once he left the NY night life. Shump is shooting slightly above his NY avg and is on par with his NY WS.

So Harden went to the line 15 times yesterday. I guess the refs are giving him calls in the playoffs.

15 for 15!

32 points on 17 shots. Thats how you do it.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Lets ignore the 7-17 FG and 3-10 3PT shooting! I wish every player shot 15 FTs a game- that sure would be exciting to watch!

I feel like Harden would be a boring player to root for. "yay, he did the sneaky thing again and got fouled! wooo!"

I didn't like the Clippers much before this season, but the way Blake is playing and the mettle they showed against San Antonio has me rooting for them.

Same here- I hated the Clips last season, but he's been amazing and they've shown a lot of grit- hard not to wish them well, especially vs the Rockets.

Clippers did Matt Barnes a disservice last night. No one is going to stop james harden without help. They pretty much gave Harden the go-ahead to beat them.

Redick was on him most of the night and did a good job..The 4th qt is where he got the calls when Barnes was on him..I think he scored 18 in the 4th, double digits ft..If they continue to play that way with Harden dominating the ball, they will lose this series..I came into the series thinking Houston will win it..After watching Harden and Houston, I can't see how the Clippers can lose...

Ugh. John Wall has five fractures in his hand. Doesn't sound like he'll be playing any time soon.

unless you like Melo's 10-28 for 32 points better. Its certainly less boring

Well I just saw a King get praised for going 13-29 for 33 pts. LOL.

Harden played a great game late. I was actually worried because he looked like he is regressing on defense.

Anyway, has there been a more injury riddled playoff?

if you are John Paxon do you try to trade Noah this summer? He will be 31 next year and his contract will be up. Do you try to get something for him now thinking that he will continue to regress as he fights through injuries while getting older?
