He had Marbury frustrated all nite with his Defense, Ridnour can play but he is still young, since he made some key mistakes in the Second Half, but he is a good one!.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Sonics were double-teaming Marbury all night at the top of the perimeter because Luke couldn't handle him one on one.

Ridnour can play.

If you mean he's really good bringing the ball up and passing the ball to Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis, two of the best shooters in the NBA, then yeah your right. His defense is horrendous, the Sonics had to double-team the Knicks PGs all game.

HATERS

give the man his due. The play where he broke up Nate the Great's fast break, 2 charges drawn on Steph, he finds the shooters in rhthym. Its not his fault Ray didn't feelk like passing once he got the ball tonight. he was all over the court.

Tru..than again alot ofopposing point guards cant handle Marbs one on one

Ridnour is ok...but he's cant play D..why you think seattle was playing a zone for most of the game..so marbury wouldnt able to penetrate

I'm not hating on the guy, I just think he's a average player, he's a pretty good point-guard but fact is, he's surrounded by alot of good-shooters who shoot at a very high percentage. I'm not gonna go nuts over the guy. I'll throw you a bone about hitting the guys in rhythym but other then that, I didn't see anything THAT special that would make me want to go out and get the guy.

Me too Martin. I really like Jackies demeanor on the court, he never gets too high and he never gets too low, he's just very even-keeled. His offense is so-so right now and I really like his transition defense and rebounding. I really think he's going to turn into a pretty solid player once Larry and Aguirre are done with him.

You weren't looking then.

He kept Steph frustrated all night. They were in a zone but a guy has to know his coverage responsibilities in that zone for it to be effective, which it was. He fights over screens. He switches. He rotates down when the ball is entered into the paint and runs back out on his assignment.

He does a lot of savvy things like when he was yelling and being overly demonstrating in the direction of the ref when Antonio was holding him on the screen to draw the offensive.

He pushes the ball into the frontcourt and initiates the offense early.

He hits his free throws at +90%

Lot of good things to build on when you are talking about a guy who is in his 3rd year and his second starting at point.

Steph hit a great shot over him at the end. To Ridnour's credit, it was a 22 footer and he did challenge it.

So what your saying is that he's basically a hustler. Like I said, he's a AVERAGE player, gave me a list of things that he did tonight but most of them were just pure hustle and thats fine but I'm still not going to go nuts over the guy. He does what most PG's in the NBA do, he brings the ball up, sets up the offense and dishes it off, he hustles back on in transition D and he rotates well. This is what most NBA PG's do, I'm not going to go nuts over the guy.

If it was just hustle he'd look like Nate out there.

Crawford scored 31 on 11 FGAs. That is out of this world efficiency. And he's already had several ultra-efficient games like this in the young season, after several seasons where he was the exact opposite.

Things are looking very good with Crawford under LB's tutelage.

LOL, man. Steph missed a wide open shot before that, was the wide open shot all part of Ridnour's plan? Maybe he should have left him wide open on the last shot, too. And was Ridnour finding Ray Allen in rhythm tonight? Why did Ray shoot 9 for 27? If Ray shot 20 for 27 and Ridnour collected 11 more assists on jumpers would we be hearing about his exceptional playmaking?

Look, Marbury is learning that he has to defer to Frye and Crawford. He's learning to pick his spots. But there's no arguing that Marbury is superior to Ridnour. Even a Sonics fan came on and said with Marbury the Sonics would be a 60 win team. You'd have a far stronger case arguing Delonte West over Ridnour, IMHO.

Marbury v. Ridnour aside, awesome game from Craw. Frye is solid, solid, solid and NEEDS to start. So does Craw. So does Ariza. I can't believe most Knicks fans realize we should start Marbury, Craw, Ariza, Frye, Curry. Hell, even Sports Guy realizes this. This team will not be more than a .500 squad until we figure out how to play Curry and Frye together. The best time to learn to play together now that the season has started would be the first quarter, when it's easiest to run set plays.

AD sucks. He's a pathetic shell of the player he once was. I can barely watch him out there. Please, Zeke, take him away from Larry. I don't think this is a matter of showcasing vets for a trade. I think Larry truly believes the kids aren't ready. Granted, AD did control Penny's deflection and contest Allen's last three, so maybe there is something to the composure thing, but I don't see many rooks more composed than Frye.

And where the hell is David Lee, dammit? Still our leading rebounder per minute.

of course you say that and he blows up for the first time against, er, the overweight dude with bad hair on the Sonics. 5 fouls in like 16 minutes - him.

Larry Brown mentioned Penny's play in the post game.
Said having another ball handler out there really helped.
I liked his savvy..
If he played a limited consistent role as tonight, I would be happy with him in the lineup.

The Knicks will get down around 15-20 points and then come back after the Sonics let down and will eventually lose only by 6-10. Then everyone can pretend how great they were in coming back.

Isn't it amazing how other teams appear to "let down" the second AD leaves the floor?

McK1 is right.. Ridnour played a great game in the first half. Played good D on Marbury. Marbury played very good defense on Ray.

At this point Ridnour is good player. He will be a very good role player on a successful team. A role is something Marbury, at this point, has to learn to play. He should learn to defer, and move the ball when he's not hitting from outside. Truth is, Marbury could use a ridnour is his game.
