Pistons just know how to play Steph. Last year Steph's season averages against Detroit: 13.3/5.3 -- and 2.3 FTA, which was less than against any other team.

Thats not a good sign because the Pistons are a team the Knicks are going to have to beat if they ever want to go anywhere. Hopefully Larry and Stephon can work that out.

yeah, he also took a baited Stephon question:

Reporter: "what do you think was [up] with stephon's game tonight?"
Larry: " I was thrilled with him today. He was trying to win the game, trying to get fouled."

nice...looks like they are getting on the same page more and more.

Stephon may not have been scoring well, but his 11 point/assist night definitely contributed to the effort.

Yeah, I loved the game in the first quarter, we play that way against the Celtics on SUnday and we're up by 20 at the half.

I'm really liking what I'm seeing. It was interesting when a commentator questioned Jackie butler being on the floor and he comes up with a block and scores on the other end...I see Larry bringing this team together.

Hey, and everyone remember, no Curry.

I made a post earlier in this thread somewhere about the lack of Curry, it's truly hurting the Knicks bigtime right now. Curry would have alteast commanded a double-team here or there which would have led to a few open kickouts somewhere. With Curry not in, the Knicks are a 15ft+ jumpshooting team becuase they have no other inside scoreres. Outside shooting leads to long rebounds and the Pistons are going to grab every singleone of those long rebounds. Curry is so unbelievably important to this team.

and the worst thing about this is he still needs to spend more time in the hair salon. Dude thinks he is an extra for a Grease Broadway production.

He's the first NBA player to get a $100M endorsement contract from Brylcreem

When Curry comes back we will have more offense but that won't change the fact that we are not a good defensive team--as we witnessed again tonight. How did we play an awesome first half and give up 59pts? Keep hope alive I guess.

Theres definately alot of truth to that statement but when Rip is shooting the way he did tonite the Pistons are gonna score at will because his shooting opens up so many things on the court. There were numerous times where he pump-faked and Q or Craw would bite and he could just drive right by and dish to a cutting a man. Rip is so lethal when he's draining.

We need to work hard on third quarters and if our shots aren't falling and the opposing team's defense is killing us, find ways to get to the line and get as many points as possible. I don't know how bad officiating affected us in that third quarter, but 8 points is too low of a score, and I don't care if its the great Pistons you are going against.

Yeah, we missed Curry a lot, and it showed specially in that 3rd quarter. I hope he comes back soon!

Whats that with Frye not starting? Man, Brown has to trust this kid, especially with the maturity he shows. Brown shouldn't panic and get every old veteran in the starting lineup. Trust the guys that haved proved you they deserve it, like Frye. We still played a strong 1st quarter, and I know many of the vets were there for their D, but Larry should trust Frye more...

Big Game playing! Great news, but its amazing that the best backup C we had there was Jackie Butler. Still, nice to see you earning some of your contract, James...

Really great that NY played a tough game and played so good against such a great team. We still need to figure out how to come out with more energy in the 3rd, but its nice that NY still tried a comeback and were close in the 1st half.

We are not there yet, but we have made giant steps forward in only 15 games played this season. This team will turn it around. They will...

I'm never happy after a loss, but I thought we showed some cohones here. We played very tough early and after that disaster in the 3rd qtr we did a good job fighting back into the game. Kudo's to Crawford who is looking to become our version of Ben Gordon. If he plays D he's a perfect 4th qtr player. Never misses FTs, handles the ball, can shoot from anywhere and get off his own shot in a pinch.

We are 13th in the league in pts allowed per game-a big improvement from last year even without our centers healthy or in games shape this year and rotations still developing.

PLEASE somebody tell me why LB is continuing to start Malik, AD, and Mo Taylor? I don't necessarily have anything against these guys on their own or in a lineup that has at least 1 other player that can handle the ball without the fear of them turning it over. But all of them together with a helpless Q - and Marbury is playing 5 on 1 on the offensive side. The stagnation is painful to watch, and Steph can't do it on his own. Those guys play for almost the full 3rd quarter, and then the real players come in and have to play catchup, and play much better than Larry's starting five. I felt like Larry was trying to lose the game stying with them for the full3rd quarter!! Plus the Refs KILLED US, and Bill Walton is a fool. He has taken way too much acid if he thinks the Steph's shot selection is worse than 35-shots-a-night Kobe. Loved the Hussle, thought we were gonna steal that one, until I saw who was comming out in the third.
Love this game...

We're 15th in giving up the fewest ppg, which is right around where we will probably end up at the end of the year.

well..think about this larry siad it should take 20 games before things start clicking

i know that the taylor, rose, davis lineup inst the sexiest, but LB started then and we had a 7 point lead after one...the thing is this team is still young so they need to learn how to play defense at crunchtime and be able to finish

One thing i loved about alst nights game was marbury taking control in the huddle and barking at his team what to do..he was leading than plus on the court he left it all on the floor...MArbury is alowly transforming into a leader vocally

Oh yeah..NBA refs suck

Thanks to teslawlo I was able to see the game last night. I don't know...in my opinion Marbury's second half was atrocious (and I'm a Marbury fan). The refs were bad, but anyway he did not play good at all.
I hope I get to see a lot of more games this way.

All I know is that you are one 'o' away from being called DarkoKnicks Conintue to check some of the NYK RealGM threads just before gametime... someone over there usually hosts a cast of the game!
