Every team is different but the league is a copy cat teams the warriors and Celtics hit on their draft
Picks and hustled other teams for their picks too.

Knicks can’t be a Celtics or the warriors they got to do whatever works for them to get better.

The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away

Celtics got tatum via the nets pick didn't they, and I think the Warriors got kuminga with the twelves. I'd happily not mention tanking if we had the first rounder of teams that sucked that year. Also we missed out on curry by one pick, mayhap tanking would have helped that year!

No thanks on Daniels or Duren.

Davis goes at #9 and Mathurin at #10 😉

No love for Eason?

If both Davis and Mathurin are gone, I think I'd go with Sochan but I gotta do more homework on Eason. I also like Agbaji a lot.

The Knicks pick we may be sleeping on is TyTy. Kentucky connection with Calipari endorsement and he’s a PG. From what I read his play and stock suffered from an ankle injury. Also he was made to play off the ball more. I have no idea of course, but we all want a PG.

I'm Kentucky Wildcats BB fan and try and catch as many of their games as I can each year and I will say Ty Washington is definitely a talented player who, IMO, rushed back from the ankle injury he suffered earlier in the year. The player everyone watched at the NCAA tournament was not the same player from earlier in the season. Not even close.

I know he considers himself a "pure" PG (which is nice to hear) but, unfortunately, he wasn't able to display any of those attributes this past season...He actually looked a lot like Quickley to me and I'm not sure that's what the Knicks need right now.
If he is the BPA at 11, I say go for it. I'm not sold on McBride *yet* and Rose isn't getting any younger....but.....I'm personally hoping one of Sochan (1) or Daniels (2) is still there for us at #11.

I call draft shenanigans. I like Dyson but no way is he going top #5. He’s still not nba strong and has to leap with both feat to dunk. Plus when he shoots he dips the ball down a bit. He looks like a lottery pick but the same flaws that had him mocked to around 10 are all still on display here. Then you consider his below average vertical he put up for his size and it becomes even more unlikely he’s going top 5.

I actually think he needs a year of NBA weight training and work on his shot and he’ll be pretty good, but unlike a GM my job isn’t on the line if he doesn’t and you take him 1-5. Of all the things he does that little dip before he shoot is the red flag that he needs better conditioning. I understand he is still growing too.

Right now I have both Davis and Mathurin as better knick prospects. I like Dyson early and think his fit would be great, but there are real holes to his game. If the Knicks draft him they are drafting him for his future, which doesn’t line up with this FO. They like guys who won player awards in college and showed at least a year of growth while in college. Flipside the Knicks do have a lot of depth, and Dyson long term could be a better player than Mathurin and Davis if he gets NBA strength. Sort of like Obi who honestly needed a year of conditioning though he was drafted in his 20’s.

He looks like he jumps wearing a lead vest. I am high on him despite limited hops

So while I still want the FO to put a premium on brains and heart (want a real alpha), they should also consider hand size and avoid Duke (unless they're convinced they're looking at Tatum 2.0)

I agree with you! Totally reminds me of kawhi!

Wouldn't say his hops are limited. They're solid and can look impressive at times when combined with his length and speed. I'd say he's a good functional athlete.

Or just draft the pg who won when they faced off. Kennedy Chandler

I'm not feeling Daniels at all. Reminds me too much of Ntilikina. I think I'll forever be against tall, slow, unathletic guards who can't shoot.

Sharpe seems to be falling pretty fast. Teams are seeing that his self creation is a bit further behind than advertised. This is bad for us.

Huh? They are not the same at all. Dyson is faster, stronger, and has a WAY WAY better feel for the game than Frank ever will.

Agree and we have very deep connections at Kentucky and they always put out good guards.

If we don't trade up and pick up an extra pick (which I think we really might do), at #11, roughly in order, I like:

Johny Davis
Tari Eason
Malaki Branham
Jeremy Sochan
Ty Ty Washington
Ochai Agbagi

I'd add Dyson Daniels to that list and I think one of those players is our pick barring moves.
