yes, I'd rather lose these games running triangle plays than lose them on Melo iso plays
Is that more on the teammates or the coach? Getting the ball to a 7'3 guy that can shoot makes more sense because he can get his shot off. LBJ defended Melo well and Melo often was doubled in those final 3 seconds of the clock when the ball was fed to him.

KP went from looking like a deer in the headlights at points tonight to looking like the Knicks best player at others - rookie ups and downs.

This team is a choker and will play down to any team in the league. We need another superstar. The refs didn't help with those bogus fouls they called against the knick.

We're growing. Has last year been forgotten?

We were the worst Knick team I have ever seen, and we have had some really bad ones.

I know high expectations are good many times, but unrealistic ones can be harmful.

There is more hope for this team than all of the years I wanted to believe it when we didn't have it.

If we are decent enough this year, we can sign a big free agent. We couldn't last summer because we were beyond a joke.

If we keep this level up, I don't think that issue will be the same next summer.

Concern was re-signing him for $124mil for another 5yrs when it seemed like Phil was ready to move on. As if the first 3yrs of watching MElo iso/hero ball wasn't bad enough

melo can be jekyll and hyde. The first half he looked like a beast. Then in the . Second half his shot selection was bad and poor defense

HUH?

Yea what the f are you talking about? KP is one of our best defenders

KP is not a good man defender..He is a good help defender..Mozgov sealed him for an easy layup in the 4th..Love blew by him..

You were clearly watching another game...or you are cherry picking.

Love had 7 points, if I read the box score correctly.

You overlook an entire game to find some plays you can use...give it up, bro.

We should have won this game ... This one burns more then Charlotte ... When is Melo going to learn to draw the defense and pass out ... It's like Celtic Pride and Melo is the Wayne's brother

How was it ISO Melo when the dude hardly touched the ball in the forth? Fisher needs to do a better coaching by asking the players to move ball. He went without Afflalo for too long down the stretch, because of we were missing an extra playmaker on the court to dump the ball since Carmelo was guarded by three defenders

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Maybe but he was terrible this game. He looked lost out there. He is a rookie so it comes with the territory.
he is one of our best defenders. With calderon and melo being bad defenders KP is definetly a breath of fresh air on defense

Good defenders have bad games and bad or average defenders can have good games. I actually think Calderon has been doing a heck of a job on defense in the last two games. Melo has had his ups and downs but he has done well for the most part.

A simple fix for this is to finally get a coach with some offensive creativity. I know that it is easy to say this sitting on my couch but is it really that difficult to get some shots off ball movement for Melo if we're so hell bent on going to him every possession late in the 4th?
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

calderon has been much better shooting. Luckily we havent been facing great guards lately which is why calderon hasnt gotten torched too much. Melo other than the one nice block is not a strong defender

How long were Lou and KP out there as our bigs in the 4th? They both had a good game, but IDK about keeping them out there as our bigs during crunch time. Seems like too much of a gamble. Seriously, how long was that stretch? Anybody know?

Yea it was tough to see Jose and dare I say Gallo having a real issue breaking down the defense.. I'd like to see grant play down the stretch of the 4th... He can get guys open looks and shooting open looks up 7 your going to win the game ... But I have another idea for us to get more 4th quarter pts stop playing LT over KP late in the game

You know what would be a nice play to have. Have Melo postup and then set a back screen for KP to flash to the FT line for an open shot. When they overload on Melo it will leave other open. Lets try to use that to our advantage instead of just having him do it alone.

At this point in his career, or more probably his recovery, he seems to have one great run in him each game...just a matter of when he has it.

Still think that they can set him up for better shots and not just dump it too him 25 ft away from the basket. Use a screen to give him some space and get him the ball down low.

The guys are too ready to get him the ball when he is not in great position.

I felt this was the major problem. AA is clearly going to be our 2nd or 3rd scorer depending on how KP plays. He looked good and was aggressive, but he is the only other player that can get his own shot off.

Agree. If you toss it to a guy with 3-4 seconds on the shot clock and he is being guarded by one of the best defenders in the league or more than one defender not sure what you are expecting. Maybe it is time for the coach to push Porzingis as an option when nothing else is working at the end of the shot clock. The guy is 7'3 and has a better chance of getting a good shot off. Also, he isn't going to be doubled with Melo on the court.

I saw that a few times but they missed KP.
