How much longer does Melo continue to get a free pass? I mean he's been an absolute dreadful nightmare since Game 1 of the playoffs.

38%fg and 26%fg(3pt) while doing little of nothing else.

Meanwhile Kevin Durant continues his model of efficiency through the playoffs....

Free pass from who? He was rightfully getting criticized in the thread.

Criticized but only mildly. People are being much harsher on Tyson than on Melo even though low volume (Tyson) doesn't hurt the team as much as 10 for 30 nights do.

Oh? Melo shot horribly for half of a series we won. Chandler played well in 4/6 of the games in that series.

Today Melo shot horribly but we were down 6 at half. He doesn't play the entire 3rd because of foul trouble and we fall apart. Simultaneously, Chandler logs worthless minutes.

My point is, Chandlers no effort games impact the team negatively more so than Melos bad shooting.

Defense and rebounding lost it for us today.

Wake the eff up Tyson. Snap out of it Melo. Come down with the flu JR.

Being down 1-0 isn't the end of the world. I just hate the effort displayed out there today.

Amare hasnt played in weaks.
Amare's knees are finished.

So what do you suppose we do?? We need a Damn big shooter and player. Since you are complaining who do we put there.??

We need Smith to get his mind right. If Smith plays half decent from the start we can get past Indiana.

Papabear Says

The Pacers are big man big!! They slow the game down and when they shoot and miss they get the rebounds. I believe they can beat the Heat and the only way they loose if they don't get the calls which they won't but we are the knicks and we don't and won't get the calls.

I saw some of it but really he's been bad since the playoffs started.

After we beat Boston everyone was thumping their chests like Gorillas big upping Melo getting out of the first round. The rageful posts in this thread are created out of pure emotional instability.

If anyone has been following Melo for his 10yr career and this season.....as I pointed out

he shot 42 PACENT or below 24 times out of 67gms played

Had to know he was bound to perform like this.

I've never seen a Chucking STAR go FAR and he won't unless he changes. Who changes after 10yrs in the league? A team like Indy who is tough, hardnose, gritty, and on the rise....will expose players like Melo and J.R.

The series isn't over but Indy is for real. I said early on, I don't want to see them or Chicago and I meant it.

3G im agreeing hes sucked. Hes been awful. I just cant count him out yet. Ive seen how well this team is when hes playing right. Even the first couple of games of the series he didnt shoot well but he was able to contribute to the wins.

2 put this in perspective...

Melo has shot 10-35fg 1 game and 10-28fg today, totaling 2 playoff games...

He's missed 25 and 18 fga in respective games...

Meanwhile Lebron has missed 22fg over his entire first round...MIND BLOWN..... BLOW YO MIND

I don't get why Melo has to take 30 shots a game regardless of how many go in. I wish he'd watch how Durant plays when he's the only go-to scorer on the floor.

Interesting. You're right that the team played better with Melo on the floor - I just looked at the #s. For the post-season as a whole, they've been much better without him on the floor but that pattern didn't continue today. Maybe it's because he finally found a way to contribute beyond scoring (11 rbs).

The bigger picture like you said is that Melo, Tyson, and JR all had really bad games though.

smith and melo each were 44TS% today.

you can get away with that in the regular season and look past HOW they are winning and console yourself in the short term by claiming "a win is a win." this is what i was repeatedly told, anyway.

you can get away with that against a seventh seed in the first round and look past HOW etc etc

i don't think you can get away with that in the real playoffs-- which started for the knicks this afternoon.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Is it true the last double double posted by Chandler was in February?

Edit- Ok, he was injured and missed some games so that makes since.

I referred to this as "CUTE" the other day and you're SPOT ON.

Those last 20-30gms of regular season against the Raptors/Clevelands/Wizards/Bucks/Bobcats/Heats(No Bron/Wade) is all cool and all. But this is the "Big Boy" season and Melo's been whining like a Teen...

Why are fans bashing Tyson wasn't his 3 straight 20reb gms in February and closed out with a 28reb gm just as impressive as Melo chasing a scoring title last 20gms of the season?

In 4 Playoff Games he has 35FGA/1AST, 29FGA/1AST, 28FGA/1AST, 25FGA/0AST....<-------------FOREALIOUSLY this is the kind of basketball you grew up learning, watching, and loving?

I think that might be because it seems like you're waiting for Melo to screw up just so you can come in and take shots at him. Most of the people here have been criticizing everyone who deserves it and you're only focusing on Melo and JR to an extent. Being down 1-0 hardly means "tomorrow came". However, Melo does need to get his sh** together. Its pathetic the way hes been playing lately.

I'm confused....about hats being taken off. When you talk about Melo/J.R. failing then I notice some posters think you're only talking about Melo failing?

But I'll take a stab at hats off....uhhhh hats off to Tyson for shooting 2-2 100% PACENT. Had he received 26 more FGA he would of shot 28-28 but I guess we'll never know.

GOOD POINT... plus one thing the pacers don't have to do.. and that is double team, they can play every knick player straight up, especially carmelo... and they are long and athletic.... your flaws are going to be magnified as the series move on.... today it started...

Why would my mind be blown from that? I think the entire world knows Melo is not Lebron.

It's not to BLOW YO MIND to say he's not Lebron....it's to show you the GAP and DISPARITY of his atrocious shooting display this post-season. And if it wasn't for his late chucking conversion in Game 2 against Boston it would be even worse.

In 4 Playoff Games he has 35FGA/1AST, 29FGA/1AST, 28FGA/1AST, 25FGA/0AST....<-------------FOREALIOUSLY this is the kind of basketball you grew up learning, watching, and loving?

When I was saying during the regular season in a game where Melo shot 34FGA(13 made) and J.R. shot 27FGA(11 made)in a LAUCE to Chicago was MIND BLOWING....Others Got They Johnny Carson on with the Somber Jokes at me.

Welp........"Tomorrow Came" as TKF Tried To Told Us

hey, can we take our hats off to felton? or is that just reserved for certain players.. because right now, felton is the best player on the knicks, and I never , ever thought, I would be saying that.. lol

I'm confused....about hats being taken off. When you talk about Melo/J.R. failing then I notice some posters think you're only talking about Melo failing?

But I'll take a stab at hats off....uhhhh hats off to Tyson for shooting 2-2 100% PACENT. Had he received 26 more FGA he would of shot 28-28 but I guess we'll never know.

lol..
