i wanna be pumped, but im too concerned about how melo's shoulder/health is gonna hold up on sunday and beyond ... he was a fraction of his normal self.

we are done if melo can't be melo, and it looked like he can't be right now ... his shoulder should be the only forward-looking story line that matters now.

am i overstating it? i hope so.

I've never been so disgusted and disappointed by a playoff series win.

i will take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day

I've been a Knicks fan since the Ewing/Starks/Oakley era. I remember.

I was disappointed by the general attitude of everybody on this team not named Felton and Shump. I'm disgusted b/c this team decided they were bored and would coast their way to the semis, despite the fact that there was PLENTY of time left in the game. This, against a team with veteran future HOF, on THEIR home court.

I'm truly disappointed if this team thinks they will win a championship playing this way. They won't.

What Knick said that they would win a 'Chip playing like this? Games like this is why they have film sessions. They will study and learn from it just the Warriors will learn from they blunders down the stretch. Would much rather learn from a W in the playoffs rather then a loss...

Carmelo wasn't at his best. But after Boston cut a 26-point deficit to four, Melo scored 7 straight points. He was big when they needed him

I could care less about all the negativity right now. This team is doing everything it set out to do and yet we're still whining. Don't get me wrong, that was a collapse, but how soon do we forget that we were down by 20 and cut it to 5 just 2 games ago
This is a teaching moment and learning experience. We got the pressure off us w/ getting out the first round, and I expect for us to do a lot better next round.

Positives:
Shumpert - looking like the player many thought he would be
Felton - playing with extreme toughness and shutting up a lot of so-called knowledgeable basketball experts.
Pablo - Playing great defense and starting to shoot with confidence
Tyson - actually showed up and looking better each game
Martin - What a great sign. Starting to love this guy

Need Improvement
Melo and Jr - Get in the gym right now and shoot 1000 jumpers. Right now.
Mental collapses

Congrats on reaching our goals so far

1. Winning 50+ games - check
2. Winning Atlantic Division - check
3. Win first playoff series in 13 years - check

haters gon hate.

Good assessment, but I think Melo and JR need to see a sports psychologist because people get under their skin way to easy.

you have to give the Celtics defense credit... I don't think they'll face another team that will dig down this deep on defense again... I hope the reason the Knicks stopped moving the ball is for that reason anyway and not just a lack of commitment

Bradley completely shut Felton down over the last few mins. Face guarded him and wouldn't let him touch it.....

Felton destroyed Bradley the whole series

true but he dig deep in the 2nd half tonight

Doc Rivers said it perfectly when talking about the knicks. "They can beat anybody when they play right, I’ll tell you that."

This quote sums up our season so far.

Of course he did. But over the last 3-4 mins of the game, Bradley did a good job of overplaying the passing lane. Denied Felt the ball several times. He was the main reason why they made the comeback. Give credit where credit is due. Despite that, we held on and made keys plays to win. Go Kicks!!!!

Just remembered Lance Stephenson and JR got into it whenever we played Indiana this season (didnt JR get ejected one game too?). Hes gotta be composed this round.

I agree too. When the Knicks play the right way we can beat anyone. However the Knicks have a bad tendency to step off the gas at the worst possible time. I mean everytime we get a 15 or 20 point lead im actually nervous because the Knicks stop the intensity

Not playing Prigs and allowing the Knicks to slow their game down to a crawl so that they lost all intensity made no sense. Woody seems not to realize his 2 top players are not playing well and Melo could be hurt. Woody should be making more use of the guys who are actually going well.

Now I see why the Hawks fired him even though they were a 50 win team.

This is the truly scary part of Woody as a coach. He does so good but then in the playoffs he has these mind numbingly bad stretches. He has to get his act together!!! Why NO PRIGS in the 4th? Why did they have to go away from Felton and force it to Melo every time down? Just so many things that drive you crazy. I'm glad they won, but this wasn't the best coaching performance at all.

Please stop..U are the biggest supporter of one of the worse coaches this organization has seen...When was the last time MDA made it to the second round...How many years has it been..Is it doable without Nash...So, silence and enjoy the win...

You take a shot at mda as a knick coach, means you were under a rock for his tenure

Who was under a rock?., me or u??..Name one time MDA overachieved with his roster..Just once...

Why the F are you guys bringing up MDA??? NO ONE EVEN MENTIONED HIM! This is about Woody who had one job to do and that was to make sure that his team played their style of ball, which is ball and player movement and NOT ISO which is playing into the Celtic's hands. The C's are the best defensive team against ISO in the league. WTF!!!

Once again we are ALL GLAD the team won, but you can't just ignore the way this team played and act like this was a clean win where the team was clicking on all cylinders!!!

It is a tactic to divert attention from one of the real problems. Some people will just never see it how we see it. So, I just state my opinion and move on.

I just want to big ups the Knicks for their excellent D. Felton played big, shump wss a Giant. Tyson-bot reappeared, Pablo was gritty, and Melo probably played the best help d in a long time.

When you spend 4 years praising and defending one of the worst coaches in the history of the franchise and then come out guns a blazin for the first coach to win a playoff series since JVg you have to expect a reaction.

Shump was GREAT!!! This is the kid we all were excited to see and he's back better than ever.
Felton and Prigs have been great too.

MAn don't give me that ish. I've been playing and watching ball since the Knicks last won a title. I KNOW WTF i'm talking about. If i'm wrong about the mistakes this team made then point it out, but don't go into some crap about my support for MDA who wasn't even mentioned by me in any of my posts. I was making VALID points about mistakes MIKE WOODSON made that could easily have lost this game and then what would you be saying?

There's only one coach of this team and he hasn't had his team playing the right way for the majority of this series. They've only played good BB in spurts. He had a chance to have one complete game with the team up 20+ points and he didn't do it. Woody has to do a great job for this team to get to the finals. He can't make mistakes like he did in this series.

Terrible games from MElo and JR
Stellar games by Shump and Felton

I'd like to tell myself that it is Melo's shoulder that is making him play like crap, but there's definitely more to it than that. he should remove the glue from his fingers. It's not okay to hold the ball 20 seconds out of the shot clock then hoist up an awful 3 EVERY SINGLE POSSESSION down the stretch.

C's do this to Melo. I don't remember him ever having a great game against them besides game 2 a few years ago. We just beat the C's 4-2 without a really stellar game from him.

I expect a good series from him vs Indiana.

The Warriors blunders were about inexperience. I expected that from them. Never once did I believe they felt they could just coast to a win. They

This is how they played in their most important game in 12-13 years. They decided to stop playing and expected a team with two HoFers with a great coach to lay down dead. I think I have reason to be concerned about this team's focus, leadership, and attitude.
