Melo has been an MVP candidate in yrs past, you are aware of this right?

That is a very fair point. Many who aren't labelled haters have said much worse things about Knicks' players than anything you or I have said. It just hasn't been directed towards Melo.

yep..... just notice, the crowd is now turning on chandler... I see very little defense going his way, yet this guy has meant more to this team than carmelo has... in all fairness...

The crowd is not turning on Chandler. The guy is playing like $hit, so well deserved flak has gone his way.

The other guy is number 2 in the MVP race, and is getting more flak, undeservedly so.

you act as if that is the actual voting.. come on with that man... correct me if I am wrong.. is this official voting? i dunno..... it seems like so much stock is being put in that....I mean right now lebron is a clear cut number one, but I think Durant should be tied with lebron..... but that is just my list... go figure..

But hey I see your frustration here.... again, some of us are not buying this at all... to me, he is the same guy I didn't like while in denver... so for me, list like this, unofficial list mean nothing..

Let me guess, it should be Gallinari at 2 and Melo at 200.

here we go folks, another gallo mention.. and guess who didn't bring him up...

you guys really have no right to complain at all... self inflicted..

In your "unbiased" opinion, humor me as to where you would put Melo in the MVP race? Remember this is for "right now", not end of the season.

I'll C my way in to this question....

Doing a Rough Draft Top 10

1. Lebron
2. Durant
3. Rondo
4. Zach
5. Duncan
6. Melo
7. Jrue
8. CP3
9. Mayo
10. 3 way Tie....Curry/Horford/Kemba

I have no gripes about your list 3G, seems fair. Just want to see if tkf can unbiasedly put a number on Melo for right now.

seems fair.. ok, I will do one better. I will put him ahead of duncan at#5, since the knicks did beat the spurs not that it matters, but I will give the benefit of the doubt there.... again, 5,4 3, does it really matter?

So does that mean...Melo is a top 5 player in the league in tkf's eyes???

All the backhanded comments is really a mask for tough love???

I'll take it.

doesn't mean that one bit.....

MVP doesn't mean you're a Top Player per say in the league. Take for instance if the Bobcats had 3 more wins and Walker showed up in someone's MVP blog Top 5 list would that make him a Top 5 player?

You also have to keep in mind there are some players injured/have been injured who may factor into the equation....Kevin Love/Dirk/Nash...all 3 players on many nights if not for a full season I feel are better than Melo.

the need to validate carmelo is amazing.... I will also add, i think wade is still a top player in the league, yet I would not say he is a MVP candidate at this time.... but knowing wades body of work, he will be sniffing around sometime this year...

Unfortunately, you have to rank based on performances and games played, not on what if x player had been healthy.

As far as Kemba and other players making noise right now, the schedule and season will even everything out. For example OJ Mayo will come crashing down to earth once Dirk's back. Melo's been doing this over 8 years, so the numbers will likely stay around where they are.

ok, so lets say that is the case... where has that gotten melo in the past regarding MVP votes?

do you know what else melo has been doing for 8 years? losing in the first round.. but of course you are expecting that to change right?

so why put some sort of caveat on OJ mayo?

I've said a couple things nice about Melo prior to today(citing his effort and willing to be more team oriented) other flaws are clearly visible/remain

With that said.... laying down on a Divan with the Likes and Melo....NO means NO!!!!!!

Gotta stop asking

The Nets are intriguing but there's no over the top with me concerning them. Brook has actually played very well offensively this year but I'm not taking every moment or looking for every opportunity to talk about them or him. The Nets thus far are about where very few expected Top 4 team in the East.

This is what the SANE tried to say when this thread was created after 4gms and across a few sites names have already rearranged themselves since then.

PRETTY Much what some of us so called "haters" have been trying to say....and I agree, the only thing that should matter is getting a top seed....

some of us are fans of the NBA, in other words if the knicks were to fold, we would still watch the NBA....

just because a guy is on our team doesn't mean he is deserving of praise... you want him to act as if he has a MVP.. why should he do that when he clearly feels that we don't?

Last time I checked the knicks were apart of the NBA too.

And I meant to say MVP Candidate, I could careless if Melo won one before he became a knick. What is important to me is he is competing right now as a Knick.

Essentially, there are posters here who want to see this Knick team lose and fail so they can pound their chests and get some sort of false confirmation regarding their belief that Melo is some kind of cancer, born loser, terrible, a bad person, etc. The Knicks are winning and this is obviously making some so called Knick fans uneasy... Melo is being mentioned as a possible MVP and this is like kryptonite to superman for some members of this board. You have posters who think two games over .500 (with the ex-knicks) is a sign of great things to come but but 9 - 3 is false hope and/or not winning the right way. It is what it is. There is no logical discussion to be had with unreasonable people.

i am sorry but i don't agree with the math here: 9-3 is merely 6 games over .500. unless you are confident that they will end up winning 60+ games it doesn't mean anything that they're 9-3 now.

secondly, you had best hope that we end up being a 2nd seed minimum because the chances of reaching the finals get reduced precipitously once you go lower than that.

you misrepresent my point about 28-26. it's apples and oranges, ie it is win-now mode for the present team versus build patiently a championship squad for that pre-melo squad-- something that cannot be done after 12 years of crap and two years of roster flush.

as i said unless you are friends with jerry west or kevin mchale nobody is doing the knicks any favors.

so yeah, the knicks HAD BETTER make a strong ECF appearance or it will make the impulsive trade for anthony look worse and worse.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

secondly, you had best hope that we end up being a 2nd seed minimum because the chances of reaching the finals get reduced precipitously once you go lower than that.

you misrepresent my point about 28-26. it's apples and oranges, ie it is win-now mode for the present team versus build patiently a championship squad for that pre-melo squad-- something that cannot be done after 12 years of crap and two years of roster flush.

as i said unless you are friends with jerry west or kevin mchale nobody is doing the knicks any favors.

so yeah, the knicks HAD BETTER make a strong ECF appearance or it will make the impulsive trade for anthony look worse and worse.

9-3 is first place. It took 24 games to get to 9 wins last year.

Isn't it refreshing how the franchise is in the direction of revitalization and winning?
