The team's effort has been better and they tend to play up to competition (which is another issue that needs to be addressed). I think that's one area that players and coaches can control: effort. yep you hit the nail on the head

negatives:

1 - Melo time in the 4th ball stopped moving, stopped letting Amare feel the ball
2 - Toney Douglas
3 - Not giving TD's minutes to Jeremy Lin
4 - MDA putting in that horrible lineup at the end of the 3rd when Rose was on the bench and we still couldn't take a lead

people constantly lament d'antoni for not playing his bench more. so he plays his bench and what do people do? lament that the bench sucks. i guess he's truly in a cant win situation.

why can't Melo get any time with Novak? Melo can move to the 4 depending on the match-up, and that would greatly improve the bench unit's spacing. Novak is being underutilized.
