who would have thought -- the heat bench didn't show up.

the bulls will debunk "myths" MDA perpetuates like offense is more important than defense, and you can win with a 7 man rotation.

This whole playoffs was an embarrassment for whatever it is that D'AnToni stands for. The debunking started in Round 1 and gained extreme momentum since.

Let's all let Mike D'antoni waste another year for Knicks fans, players, management, and ownership. I think we all just need another season of offense being more important than defense.

For all of the there is no one better so the team shouldn't make a change talk, a guy who was an assistant last year is going to take a team to the finals. On top of that his players were saying Thibs is going to have a great game plan set up for us. The Knicks need to move on. D'Antoni isn't going to change and he isn't giving up control to a defensive assistant.

I'm not too thrilled and rah rah Bulls because there has been enough D-Rose shoved down our throats but I do want to see the Heat experiment fail while they are together no matter who they face.

Here's what's crazy The Heat play good defense but the Bulls play what appears to be a lot better defense and they do it primarily with role players.

I guess that means role players can be coached and guys can be coached up and taught to play in a team concept on d. Who would've thought that was possible over the last 3 years.

Firing Mike D'antoni because of his delusional philosophies is far more critical than finding out who his replacement should be.

Offensively challenged players getting it done defensively and not playing gimmick D

Bogans
Brewer
Asik
Gibson(to an extent)

Thibs played 10 players and could have played Thomas

Highly unlikely any of those guys crack MDA rotation.

I'd hate to be a Bulls fan. Unless you realistically expect Lebron and Wade to only combine for less than 40 points per game for at least 4 games.

Bosh with 30
Lebron with 15
Wade with 18

i'd hate to be you. you're on record saying the bulls don't stand a chance. they looked pretty damn good tonight, and the heat as a team shot 47% but only got off 8 3s! how about that defense! wow a team that talks on D and rotates! "if you score more, you win."

heat can't guard rose. heat have no bench. heat got outrebounded 45-33. 19 to 6 on the offensive glass; noah had more offensive boards than entire heat "team"!

lebron and wade will have better nights obviosuly, unfortunately when they play well it doesnt magically give the heat better PG play or bench play, and only moderately helps their work on the boards.

Well you have to expect this from ADL he's a rabid current Wade fan before and after 2010 Free Agency. I think all rational fans understand this will be a series of expected and unexpected but rest assured Lebron and/or Wade will struggle again before it's all over. What these 2 guys will have on their side before the series is over is the refs giving them a pick me up. They gotta get to the line and they will with some help.

For real, it's getting insufferable. At least pad your Alba post count so I can get something out of this forum, -haters.

Bulls were impressive. I'm not piling on D'Antoni, but I was really hoping this team would hire Tom Thibodeau back in 2008 and said as much at the time. But maybe his quiet demeanor wouldn't really work in NY. I don't think you can win without size, defense and team play.

Martin, Taj Gibson is a very nice talented player, would MDA make use of Gibson or does he go the way of Anthony Randolph and Jordan Hill? My personal opinion is that Gibson rides the bench under MDA chalked up as a player who doesn't fit the system. Young player who has a lot to learn eventually ending up as trade fodder.

To me Dallas looks the best team left. Time will tell. Heat have great wings but this matchup will be tough. Chicago has a good bench and no real glaring holes unlike the Heat.

I don't recall MDA ever benching a player for not fitting the system. Both Moz and AR were benched because of poor performance at the beginning of the year. That time period followed by a very impressive 13 game win streak, and when you are in a win streak, you don't really change much, especially when there is pressure to make playoffs. Moz worked hard and came back to the rotation.

What is it about some players that you don't think they would fit his system (unless you want to site Marbury or Curry)? If anything, guys like Turiaf and Jefferies would be classic guys who would NOT fit his system - guys who are completely inept on the offensive end - but they played. Jefferies probably played too much.

Young guys who do not practice hard and do not try to play within the system the coach outlines should not and do not make any coaches rotation. I could easily say that about Phil Jackson, Riley, JVG, Pop, Hollins, Brooks. Same with elite college coaches.

You can point to teams like Twolves and Golden State and AR all you want, but they are also in a different position than teams that are both trying to make the playoffs and want to impose some sort of environment that does not involve a sense of entitlement by the player.

Other than the fact that Taj is a big, why wouldn't he play with MDA? The guy is quick, has some sort of jumpshot and hustles. He is exactly what Turiaf is but more offensive minded.

That is where you are correct yet wrong. MDA would give Taj Gibson a chance but he will sour on him because he is a young player instead of grooming him he would throw him to the bench. You say Moz worked himself back into the rotation Martin if it weren't for injuries Moz wouldn't have gotten off the bench it was purely out of necessity that MDA used him and sure enough Moz show offensive prowess.
