I think you guys are letting yourselves get suckered in by these articles. Stop putting full faith in every new article which has a journalist "siding" with a particular trade idea.

Teams are talking. We have quite a nice offer on the table. I can't really see the Rockets taking on Deng's 60M or Hinrich's 18M. They want to cut salary not add it. So now, they won't take Jeffries because he adds salary, but they'd take Deng's 4 years instead? I doubt it.

Teams talk, back away, talk to other teams, and quite often come back to the original team and make a deal.

Stop hanging on every single word you'll drive yourselves nuts.

Yes, but Deng and Heinrich are immensely better than Jeffries. That's the difference.

Source: New York isn't McGrady's best offer

While the Knicks continue to pursue Tracy McGrady, informed sources warn that New York remains low on Houston's list of trade partners. The framework involves Houston shipping McGrady and power forward Joey Dorsey to the Knicks for Al Harrington, Jared Jeffries and Jordan Hill.

However, sources with knowledge of the talk say the Rockets have received multiple offers for McGrady that they have deemed better than the Knicks'. A source said that Jeffries -- who is owed $6.9 million next season with a $2 million trade kicker -- is a major sticking point for Houston's front office.

Acquiring Jeffries would effectively kill any chance Houston would have of signing a top free agent in the offseason.

If I am Donnie I am starting to take stuff back until I get to my bottom line. My bottom line is Jefferies, Hughes, and Douglas for TMac. After that Morey can get his own damn chicken and rice on 53rd when he comes to NY.

And for all we know Walsh is taking his "Jeffries, Hill, pick" scenario to other teams with a 2010 expiring to offer up.

So I don't make all that much of this. This is how it goes every trade deadline. What matters is a final trade not the media stretching rumors to fit their opinions.

Last I heard they offered Deng and TThomas for Jefferson.

They were offering TThomas and Kirk and Miller for McGrady.

Although, I'd agree there wasnt a 2nd Superstar at that point The Lakers were by no means
"crumby".. And Yeah Kobe was on that team.

Shaq signed in 1996-97. Eddie Jones, Nick Van Exel, Derek Fisher, Cedric Ceballos, Elden Campbell, Byron Scott, Robert Horry. They had alot of talent!!! THEY WON LIKE 50 PLUS GAMES THE PRIOR YEAR WITHOUT SHAQ. Bad Example IMO

If we are gonna trade DLee, Curry's fat arse better be in that deal unless we are getting a guy that we are actually gonna keep next year

why? Lee isn't going to be re-signed anyway if the plan is to go all in for Lebron & Wade this summer... we won't have the cap space to do it... no one's taking Curry's contract off our hands, look at what it's gonna take just to get rid of Fishlips here & at least he's still healthy.

u telling me trading Lee who just made the AS team for T-Mac isn't more than a fair trade off from the Rockets' perspective? the Rockets are taking back Fishlips' contract off our hands & we give them essentially 2 late 1st round picks when u factor in TD & the cash considerations... & this way u don't have to give up your #8 lottery pick & don't have to worry so much about bombing out on Lebron & Wade this summer because you still hold onto your draft picks in 2011 & 2012... at least it gives us some insurance against this plan bombing out.

Yeah and that team had a young prep rookie that they got in the draft a couple of weeks before. Kobe, Eddie Jones and Nick Van Excel. That Lakers team was not as bad as people like to remember. They just missed the playoffs w/o Shaq.

Yep it's entertaining. And we got 2 more days of this to look forward to.

Why not to read these articles and hang off of every new word:

Bucher: No Trade - TMac can't play this year.
Adande: No Trade - Donnie won't trade the 2011 pick.
Hahn: No Trade - Walsh won't include Jordan Hill.
Aldridge: No Trade - Houston likes Chicago's deal better.

So which is it? LOL?

J.A. Adande: looks like the T-mac to NY deal is dead for now. Apparently Walsh is reluctant to include a 2011 first round pick, which throws the deal off

Walsh needs to stick to his guns.

Man, ya'll see that, tho? You see what Jordan Hill's value is??????? They dont care about a number 8 pick, they want a future, which if everything falls into place should be a high one...Damn

i think his salary does play a role in this because it's $3 mil in additional cap space this summer

Not sure that's the case. Via Bulls forum per RealGM:

Me: Sam, I know this is the time of year when all chaos ensues and we are fed a
bunch of misinformation, but everyone seems to only discuss the Knicks'
package for Tmac as a possibility. Are the Bulls still interested in him at
all? If so, seems like the Bulls would be able to come up with a much
better package than the Knicks (e.g. Salmons, Miller, Tyrus).

Sam Smith (Bulls beat writer): i don't know the details, but the bulls are and offered some stuff but i heard the rockets asked for no. 1 picks and guys like taj

i'm talking about this from a Knicks' perspective... the reason why giving up Jordan Hill might be more enticing than a future pick is because of the added savings on the cap this summer
