Frye was great as was ariza, look at his stat line, something like 13/5/6 I think..

marbs did well, I was happy for him, and craw was big late...

curry dominated early, the refs were trying to neutralize him because he was killing brad miller's weak azz....

LB damn near gave me a heart attack by not putting Channing and/or Curry back out there down the stretch. Jeezus, my head is pounding.

Pretty good win. Anyone catch that smile on Marbs' face giving LB the hug and low-five after the win? Poor kid doesn't know he's on the next train outta here. ha

Craw came through big time tonight seeing that he and Marbs were the only guys who had any offensive talent on the floor over the last 6 minutes (besides the Q cameo). Still, not sure I like JC as a go-to guy down the stretch just yet. He's been hitting 'em but his shot selection still looks iffy.

Channing f'ing Frye. I love this kid.

um....if the knicks keep up good play...he will be here for a while

He was being facetious becuase of the ridiculous Marbury/IT rumors that were circulating today.

No, once the Knicks find the right deal, Marbury will be shipped.

Nothing personal, we just need to balance out our roster and build for the future.

Yeah I know, I have no problem with it either, although I'd hate to see him go. I said it becuase you seemed to definitive in your post about whats going on with Steph or anyone.

Wrong. How much more thinking does he have to do? How much more defense has he been playng? He hasn't stabilized in this system (though he's starting to) and his numbers so far mean nothing.

how is this so difficult... what does this new system have to do with how stephon marburys free throws...

yes theres only been 6 games, and in these 6 games he hasn't shot free throws like he usually does... how has that turned into whatever your talking about? it was absolutely not a big deal
Free throws are about comfort level.

*sigh* you just agreed with my original point and went against your own argument..

but anyways, you win

GOOD WIN AND GOOD NIGHT!

sleep easy fellas

the numbers still don't mean anything.

One other thing. The refs hate Eddy Curry. It is so damn frustrating to see the offensive fouls he gets called against him. One of them early in this game was a Brad Miller flop, the other Miller pulled the chair out from under Curry and somehow Curry gets the foul. Seems like every single game so far Curry's had at least one offensive foul where his man just flops and the refs bite. Really aggravating.

I think Steph will be given every chance before the trade deadline to prove his worth. After the win tonight it still seems like we are missing that floor general that could make this team really special in a year or two.

I am thinking that once Eddie Curry estiblishes himself as a better player - more consistant, better scorer - the refs will start to give him the benifit of the doubt. I am sure Larry is screaming at the ref and that will take its toll too. I look for this change to be slow - like end of this year and beginning of next, but Eddie has to establish himself first.

first we have to start winning and get over .500 if we're going to get anything back for him. whatever we get for him has to at the very least takes us a step back but 2 steps forward in the near future. Trading him for more overpaid garbage would be stupid. Don't pull a Layden and trade Rice for Anderson & Eisely!

Well one thing is for sure, Marbs is going to be over the hill by the time all our young guys are really hitting their primes. For that reason alone I wouldn't mind trading him in the right deal and would also like a solid young PG.

As for how he looked tonight, I think he was fantastic. We had to grind it out at the very end and it was tighter than it should have been, but it's hard to look like a floor general when you've got Davis, Rose, and Ariza on the frontline in a halfcourt offense.

Marbury did look good tonight but it was the Kings who play zero defense now & days and who he also torched for 34 last year. Lets see what Marbury and the Knicks do against the Jazz, Lakers & Nuggets.

Yeah tom,

Channing is the truth (;)] to whoever cam up with that). This kid is gonna big reeaal good. And I'm talking good. Once he learns to cut down on fouls, and how to box out a little better, he will be a star. Forget about his actual production now, you can just see it in him.

I STILL don't understand why Rose was in the game late. WTF?!?!?! get him outta here. He can be the best damn cheerleader in the NBA for all I care. Just don't keep him in the game. I, too, almost had a heart attack. He really almost lost the game for us a couple of times, like 3 turnovers in the final 4 mintues?

Craw might become the closer for this team. That's what you have to harnass.

Actually a couple of Frye's foul are the result of Rose not being able to cover his man in doing so that put Frye ina bad position do nothing else but foul, that is not Channing's fault, besides he stop a couple of conventional 3 point plays on committing the fouls so they are good fouls, the way the Kings were shooting their FT's.
Frye played a good game, but most of his looks he was wide open, those could change later in the season once teams figure that out, so he must adjust when the time comes, that will show how good he can be, I think he is smart enough to figure that out.

Man, I can finally post after a game, I did my best to not post the usual after a loss ramble so far this year, and it has been 5 losses, you gotta give me credit lol.

Seriously though, Marbury might have played his best game as a Knick. He is looking more and more like Billups out there ever day. He is finally learning when to shoot and when to pass. If he can GET IT, there is no limit to how far he can take his game.

Frye is awesome apparently, IT may have really thought he was the best big man. He is def PF though. And you know what, at PF he is an insane mismatch. He is faster, taller, and for many, stronger then your average PF, since he has played C all his life. And he has a seemingly limitless array of moves. And to top it all of, we finally have a pick and roll PF who actually JUMPS on his JUMPshots. So you know, a freakin PG can't block him if he is withing 6 feet of him. Good riddance to KT's dumbest lookin set shot that needed 10 feet of separation and a minute of setup time lol.

Ariza is def best of the bench. Say what you will, but having a guy like that coming of the bench is key. He is like Camby during the 99 playoff run. He comes in and you know something great will happen. This team def needs an energy boost of the benc once in a while, and thast what Ariza is. Starting him would just put to much pressure on his yet underdevloped offensive game. He has to develop some kind of range first, to at least keep the D ohnest, and hopefully a go to move in the post like Prince. Untill that you gotta protect his confidence by keeping him as a 6th man.

Rose, well, I'v said it before and I'll say it again, he BLOWS! I dunno why he is playing so much. Maybe he is playin really good D and we are not noticing. I dunno. I hate to argue with Brown. I'm sure he knows more about bball then all of us combined. Maybe he is trying to show IT how bad Rose is. I just don't know what to say about this one.

Good to see Q hittin open treys. We need that from him. Actually thats the only thing we need from him. Hopefully the hamstring is gone and he will return to his usual form and will the outside thread in our starting linup.

Craw with an awesome game. This is what he was supposed to be. A 3rd guard of the bench, instant offense. Keep running plays for him, he is seems to be using the screens better. If he can conintue to hit the open 3 as well, he will give us a 2nd outside threat, which is huge.

Final suggestion, since we are missin out on shooting, why not play Frye more? He is prolly our best midrange shooter. Just like KT was. We should use him with Curry to spread the floor. I'm tellin you Curry and Frye together if each plays to their potential is gonna be that tandem of a postup center with a shooting PF who can rebound and block shots ans run the floor.

Lineup of the future:
Curry/Butler
Frye/Lee
Ariza/Barnes or whoever
Qrich/Craw
Marbury/Nate
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

i posted y'day that i'd like to see ariza as a sterter but maybe instant defense off the bench is a nice role...along with crawford as instant o...

curry, davis, rose, qrich, marbs start...
backed up by ariza and crawford to inject d and o respectively
followed by frye and davis. james as necessary...presuming james gets his act together
that leaves barnes and lee and butler to fill out the bench.
nate, penny, and, taylor will need to wait for an injury...

I am so happy these knicks finally won.
Sactown came to play. Yeah they are having their own problems but those guys were playing their asses off. And the knicks beat them at arco.

My question is why can't they play like this every night? Brown just needs to play the rookies. Lee was benched? Why? Glad to see butler finally got some sweat on his uniform. Damn bro all the answers are on the bench.

Anyway....it just feels great after a knick win. It feels like after you have some really good sex. I got that I'm man feeling. The even Better feeling is knowing another win might be on its way against Utah. No more blue balls! Just more great sex glow!

Nice win, the team is coming together as the roles are taking shape. Frye is legit. Ariza even hit some jumpers! Curry played BIG in 21 minutes - 8 Boards!

I liked most the celebration at the end. This team is together and they are with their coach.

Good things will come. There is no place to go but up!

Sim.. good post. I agree about Ariza. I do like Crawford in the SL however. I think Marbury is a better defender against bigger more physical guys and with Q at the 3 you can then bring in Ariza for Marbury, Craw or Q. Thats nice flexibility. Agree 100% with putting Frye in the SL next to Curry also. No excuse for him not getting 30 minutes RIGHT NOW.
