I get the feelings that Jennings made that prediction with the intention of being traded. I don't think you do that knowing that the defending champs will do everything they can to sweep and make the Bucks look bad unless you have ulterior motives. Doubt it was meant to fire up his team.

The Bucks arent going to trade Jennings. The Bucks can have cap space and guys still wont sign there unless they are being overpaid.

Jennings best bet is to resign to a 3 year deal then leave. If he takes the QO he is screwed since any team he gets traded to wont have his bird rights. Knowing Jennings he wont care. Probably wants to play in LA when the Lakers have cap space next summer.

They might not trade Jennings but I get the feeling Jennings wants to leave. If Jennings doesn't want to leave he has a strange way of showing it. He must have known that picking a fight with the Heat was going to end badly. Maybe its a lack of maturity and nothing else. Guess we'll find out over the summer.

As it turned out, the talent, reputations, pride and egos that collided when the Lakers added Nash and Howard required some tough love -- some confrontation -- in order to connect the dots. And with Brown and D'Antoni, two coaches whose positive attributes did not include the Jackson-like ability to confront and demand, the players never got that -- and they never gave the coaches a chance to give it to them.

"I feel like at times the Lakers did not let the coaches coach," World Peace said. "The players, we didn't let them do their job. "Sometimes, we didn't let the coaches coach, and sometimes the coaches didn't coach," World Peace said. "So it goes both ways. Sometimes a coach can get in a tough situation where they respect these All-Stars so much that they don't want to rub people the wrong way. So sometimes I felt we should've been rubbed the wrong way. So, if you were the Lakers, would you amnesty Kobe. Its, cold, cold, cold, but it would save you over $76mil next season. Amnesty MWP and trade Gasol for cap space, and you can start a rebuild. I'm not sure- it's probably the right move logically (doubt he's going to play at a high level), but I don't think I could do it after everything he did for that franchise.

MWP usually speaks the truth and while these comments don't do much to fuel the MDA hater, its seems fair. Not that it lets MDA off the hook entirely but the Lakes are a complex problem with a roster that was very "Isiah like" in that it did not gel.

Injuries were a big part of it mostly to Howard needing time and Nash never got it going. Maybe the best thing was to let Bickerstaff be the interm but I don't think he wanted it. MDA is a "systems" guy which is "do it my way, Im the coach"!

Im sure he adjusted to some extent but we all know he is what he is.

Going forward they will likley get the MDA guys as assistants and revamp. They got big problems and a big ego in Kobe who will also can be a problem if he makes it back. He will need time to heal, and time to play back in.

Anmesty Kobe? MWP? Pau, etc etc.........Its LA, you don't rebuild.

Dwight? Dude is a child. Really, if he walks They are really not at a total loss as they would have had the bynum problem that Philly has. What to do?

I don't know.

They should do a deal with Brooklyn and trade Dwight for Bropez.

Can NBA still do "sign and trades"?

Got a laker fan in the office and he is all out of sorts. I told him "now you understand what its like to be a knick fan all these years but without the bling"

Lebron, Bosh, Melo, Demarcus Cousins, and Paul George might be available summer 2014. LA has no one on the books besides Steve Nash after 2014.

Even if LA loses Dwight they can tank and try to rebuild. Getting Lebron and Bosh would obviously expedite that process but they have options.

Nets aren't allowed to take part in a sign and trade because they're over the apron. If they want to sign and trade for Dwight, they'd have to shed a big chunk of salary first- maybe losing the Kardashian would get them under the apron (not sure what the exact figure is), though why anyone would take on that bums salary to help the Nets get Dwight, I do not know.

I don't know, the emptying your roster to land big FA's strategy is a risky one- as we almost found out, and as Dallas did found out, it's very, very easy to be left empty handed. I'm not convinced you can build around Cousins, or Bosh, and I don't see why Lebron would be attracted to living under Kobe's shadow of achievements for the rest of his career.

Was Kobe living under Magic Johnson's shadow? You get to build your own legacy and LA probably is the best place to do it. Not saying it will happen. Miami's big 3 probably love South Beach.

It's not because Denver doesn't have a star, they are simply getting out played in every sense.

Hey I thought they'd play much better but GS has everything going for them. They can't miss. Good for them young teams can prosper in this league...GSW may just have the best up and coming talent in the league. Wish we had much of their talent.

very true.. what is happening is more so on denver, they need to defend better.. period... they can score, but they don't stop the other team enough.. LOL.. but again, both are young teams with a bright future. GS is fun to watch as well, wish lee was playing tho... good to see this, wish we had that kind of young talent as well... the series is not over.. would not be surprised to see Denver push this to 7 games... although I said it before it started that the warriors were very capable of beating denver....

That was great!!!

Anyways...I think Dwight just lowered his value considerably.

Let's list how many teams have cap space to sign Dwight this summer straight up for Max.

Team Total Salary 2013/2014
ATL - $18,483,800
CHA - $40,420,327 - They will have to get creative.
CLE - $32,594,120
DET - $35,172,720
HOU - $38,063,852
MIL - $40,581,659
NO - $34,957,332
PHI - $46,193,356 - They will have to get creative.
SAC - $40,707,644
SAS - $41,042,756
UTA - $25,696,809

Any team with more than $38K total salary will need to get creative to sign Dwight. In this list, who do you think have the guts to sign a max player with issues. This is a guy who forced himself out of a small market team so small market teams would have to be eliminated.

ATL, CHA, DET, MIL, NO, SAC probably just got taken out of the equation.

This leaves HOU, NO, PHI, SAS and UTA in the mix.

NO probably not since they already have players in the 5 and 4 spot.

I don't think Dwight would want to sign with UTA. Just not a FA hotspot.

Need to take out SAS too with that nice little gif as proof.

This leaves HOU, PHI, and of course the LAL in the hunt. I would say that he lowered his value quite a bit.

I wouldn't say that. He made Orlando a fortune over an eight year period. I'm sure they don't regret drafting him or giving him a max contract.

Jennings doesnt want to be in Milwaukee unless he is being overpaid. He wants a large market. I see him taking the QO which means he will lose his bird rights if traded.

loses Bird Rights if traded?!? is this right? I don't think so...

If he takes the QO Jennings has to approve any trade because he will lose his bird rights. Same thing happened with David Lee here.

Lol!@Dwight going anywhere! Stars in their prime don't leave LA! And certainly not for Houston or ATL! ESPN reported the Lakers can offer him the most money this year. LA is stuck with the Dwightmare!

They certainly would be better off offering him a full max contract and then either keeping or trading him. As long as he's healthy, I assume he'll perform better next year with Kobe out of the way.
